Olimpia Splendid - Dolceclima Air Pro 13 A+ WiFi

My mobile aircon Olimpia Splendid 13+ eats up 2.9kW per hour which costs me about 23Kč. During the hot days I have it running for 7 hours so that comes out at 161Kč per day. That's a steal for me - I live in a top apartment under the roof so it gets up to 30C without the AC (27C with the AC).

Loni jsme fungovali jen s tím vakem do okna, ale začne tě to časem srát, tak jsem si letos nechal udělat výplň do okna, co se nasazuje jako síť proti hmyzu a teď je to v úplným topu. Kdyžtak se podívej na klimatizace-odvody.cz Ale teď v sezónu už je možná pozdě a nevím, jaký mají teď dodací lhůty. Na konci dubna byla čekací doba 10 dnů. Jen musíš mít realistický očekávání. Každá splitova klima bude lepší než jakákoliv mobilní. Tak to prostě je. Chladící jednotku máš v bytě, ne venku, takže ti to bude dělat trochu bordel. Spousta lidí si stěžuje na hluk, ale nevím jak ty ostatní klimatizace, ale tahle je hlasitá asi jako takový ty ochlazovače vzduchu s nádrží s vodou. Pravda ale je, že já nechladim 3h denně, ale nastavím si ráno třeba 25 stupňů na ní a nechám ji jet v eco režimu celej den. Takže ona nikdy nejde do toho nejvíc hlučného módu, bo si prostě celej den jen udržuje teplotu. Bál jsem se spotřeby, ale loni jela 600 h a spotřeba mi vzrostla oproti letům bez klimy o nějakých 350kWh. Což je asi způsobeno tím, že jsem fakt jel v tom eco režimu celou dobu. Vychází mi tedy, že je možná lepší to fakt mít takhle puštěný, že to jen udržuje teplotu, než se to snažit rychle vychladit na vyšší účinnost za kratší čas, protože vzroste ti spotřeba a klima dělá i větší hluk... Jen měj připravenou i nádobu na vodu, bo to klidně 20 litrů vody denně v těch největších vedrech udělá...

The Delonghi models around that price point all do the job very well—they are selling a model that cools, heats, and dehumidifies at Costco.  Good portable ACs are very loud and take up a massive amount of space, think about where you’ll store it in the off season. Not just the machine itself but also the pipes, and window fixtures. They also suck down the power but over a summer usage in Australia with expensive power using it as much as I wanted, it was still cheaper than my winter heating bill.  I had a $1200 AUD Delonghi model and an Olympia, and the Delonghi was vastly more powerful—did a decent job in a massive 800 square foot room in Australian summer, and another one in the bedroom got things positively frosty. VERY noisy though. 

I bought an olimpia splendid and its about to start its 5th summer. Think it was about 430 quid, and I needed to buy some window sticky fabric seals for another 20 or so. It cools the office room down during the day so I can work from home. It can make a 24 degree room 21 degrees, or a 30 degree room probably down to 23 degrees. It's very loud and vibratey, and it will either achieve its goal and turn down to a low hum until the temp goes up, or take a break now and then so it doesn't burn out, or something. At the absolute peaks of summer, I'll move it into the bedroom at night. That will only be for 2 or 3 nights in a year, because sleeping is very hard with it in the same room. You trade lack of sleep because it's too warm, to lack of sleep because it's too loud. You'd need to sleep with earphones in. It will cool the room, go quiet, then activate again, waking you up like a jump scare. Is it worth the money? Definitely. Its made working at home for 400 or so hot days tollerable. I don't think it made much of a dent to the electricity bill either.
