We've been running this one for at least 3 years now and it still works great. Just clean the filters and empty the water and it will treat you well. It has a bunch of nice features in the app like scheduling and sleep curve. https://www.homedepot.com/https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Toshiba-8-000-DOE-BTU-Portable-Air-Conditioner-Cools-350-Sq-Ft-with-Dehumidifier-and-Remote-in-White-RAC-PD1213CWRU/314620249?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&utm_source=google&utm_medium=vantage&utm_campaign=57563&utm_content=59926&mtc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D29A-Multi-NA-TOSHIBA__MIDEA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-MK714339001-57563-NBR-577-NA-VNT-FY25_Q1_Q4_Midea_D29A_OAM_HOME_COMFORT_SILVER_AON_BAU_Opportunity&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D29A-Multi-NA-TOSHIBA__MIDEA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-MK714339001-57563-NBR-577-NA-VNT-FY25_Q1_Q4_Midea_D29A_OAM_HOME_COMFORT_SILVER_AON_BAU_Opportunity-22361133803--&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22364828098&gbraid=0AAAAAolLu99UK19OGktz5B7H4kCshlAPV&gclid=CjwKCAjw2vTFBhAuEiwAFaScwmRsFBLH6a0VXnZdA8rPRHtsD_LRH9E8eK8An2wEVj7ADxfJJ8X4shoC4gEQAvD_BwE
I have a Toshiba portable Air Conditioner I bought about six years ago it can make my bedroom feel like it’s freezing when it’s 90° weather outside. I live in a second floor condo my bedroom is on the end where the sun beats on the wall from morning to afternoon so it gets extra hot. I do run my central air but it can’t keep my bedroom as cool as I’d prefer it which is why I bought the portable air conditioner.
I currently have a Toshiba portable AC and it does a good job keeping my 450 sq ft living/dining/kitchen (one big room) cool. I plan on getting a 2nd ac for my bedroom and while it doesn't have dual hoses (most under 10000 BTU only have a single hose from what I have found) it will cool the 250 sq ft I need it to
I lived on the 4th floor in Irvine without an AC for 4 years. You’ll need a portable AC but make sure you get one thats good. The Toshiba one I had was good and made the bedroom pretty chilly at night. Just make sure to drain it every night because it can be pretty humid in Irvine.
The problem is not the cycling, is that you have a cheap ass AC. Get a solid sturdy surface to place them, no carpet. I suggest Toshiba AC are very nice
Buy the Dreo! I just bought the Dreo 515S portable air conditioner and it is one of the best portable air conditioners we have ever had! In fact it is very quiet, very cold, we have a 800sq ft apartment and it cools the whole apartment with our bedroom door open with a fan blowing! Honestly we have to use blankets on our couch that is how cold it is! You won’t be disappointed! We had a Toshiba portable air conditioner and it was so loud when we bought it and it also never got as cold as this Dreo and I believe it even was made for 550sq ft apartment or rooms! We are very happy with our Dreo purchase! Good luck!
