How does it compare to the Soundcore Boom 2 by Anker? I just bought one and it cuts out, sounds ok though I miss my Big Jambox (speakers recently blew)
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Just got the xiaomi sound party! ->Agree here, I think I have Boom, I’ve been very happy with it.
r/BuyItForLife • The best bluetooth speaker worth buying now? (sound quality and portability) ->This is something I have looked into and the options are not great if you need something that can get loud For portability I think Bluetooth speakers make the most sense. That said you don't get much for $80. Anker makes some solid options that perform well on a budget. I own an Anker Soundcore Motion+, speaker which costs $80. For a small portable speaker it sounds great for background music. The downside is it's pretty small so is limited on how loud it gets. It works well for a BBQ or hanging out with friends but it's not exactly the best option if you want to crank it I also own a Tribit StormBox Blast. Which is a good amount more powerful and can get quite a bit louder than the Motion+. It also costs a lot more $200 (though I got it for $160 on sale) That said, I think at lower volumes the Motion+ sounds much better to me and is much cheaper and I use it way more than the Tribit. It's fine for hanging out and turning the music up but it's not audiophile and it wouldn't be my choice for a backyard rave. Somewhere between the two is the Anker Soundcore Boom 2. It's not rated as high as the StormBox but for much less ($120) you'll get something that's almost as loud. Other options are just getting a cheap class D amp and used bookshelf speakers. You'll get much better sound quality and loudness but you'll need to increase your budget a bit and it's not the most portable option. If you want something that has the power for a party here is a list of good party speakers but as you'll see these are way above your budget. https://www.rtings.com/speaker/reviews/best/parties
r/BudgetAudiophile • What are the best Hi-Fi portable speakers? ->Brane X if you love bass. Retails $500, but you can find for $100 off when on sale. I got one but I am waiting until Xmas to open. If your want cheaper, I love my Soundcore Boom 2 for $100
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Best Bluetooth Speaker Widely Chosen Right Now? (Portability and Sound quality) ->I'd say on the lower cost scale, sound core boom 2 is small/compact/lighter weight (4 lbs) 80watt speaker that is waterproof and floats. It can also sync with other sound core speakers, so you could buy two and have 2 of them on the beach playing the same music. They are currently on sale for $90 and that's what I have. Unfortunately, the speaker is only on one side, but I think it should be great for the long run. There's a pro version, but I think it weighs more and is larger, so I thought this smaller one would be best in terms of form factor for a floating one. On the better end though a bit larger, but still kind of smaller form factor for what it provides, Turtle box and turtle box pros cost about 400-600 and range from 120-140watts at 10-20 lbs and also float, are waterproof, and sync with each other. I did a lot of research on if there where any that had multipoint, like some headsets do so friends that come over can essentially all just join with it on an open Bluetooth connection so they can take turns playing their own music, but currently, that technology doesn't exist for some reason for floating speakers. So I just went with the sound core boom 2. A lot of things will say they are waterproof, but way less will be water proof to the point of being submerged and being able to float.
r/BuyItForLife • The best bluetooth speaker worth buying now? (sound quality and portability) ->This is sage advice: two speakers for different use cases. I tried to settle on one speaker that would be practical for their grandkid's purposes, that is, parties *and* hiking, camping and water sports, and couldn't. A boombox for when volume and better fidelity is required; a smaller speaker for outdoor on-the-go activities. OP, as well as Earfun and Tribit, Anker (Soundcore) has enough of a lineup to satisfy different criteria. For instance, [Soundcore Boom or Soundcore Boom 2 ](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=anker+soundcore+boom&i=electronics&crid=9EFL7JVSRBJK&sprefix=anker+soundcore+boom%2Celectronics%2C123&ref=nb_sb_noss_1)are smaller boomboxes; the Soundcore Boom 3i is a tough, outdoor, portable speaker.

r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Portable Speaker suggestions - gift for 22 year old Gen Z Grandson ->Anker Boom 2 is on sale for $90. If you buy refurbished - excellent you can get two for $150 and pair them up.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Bluetooth speaker ->Thank you for the recs! I researched both for a bit and it seems the Boom 2 is alot like a cheaper Bose Soundlink Max. I like that its still pretty light!
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Cant hear my Bose Flex 2 outdoors!! What should replace it?? ->You seem to know quite a bit about speakers. Do you know if the JBL Charge 4 would be louder than the Bose Flex 2? I like that its only marginally bigger as I dont want to lug around a giant speaker (Boombox 3, etc).
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Cant hear my Bose Flex 2 outdoors!! What should replace it?? ->I love the Bose Max, but man that price is insane. A fellow redditor turned me onto the Anker Soundcore Boom 2. Its relatively similar sized, similar sound but 1/4 the price at $99 vs $399. Its also 1lb lighter, so more portable. Its uglier than the Bose, but manages to look halfway decent in their green color.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Cant hear my Bose Flex 2 outdoors!! What should replace it?? ->Soundcore (Anker) makes some nice speakers. Although I don’t have the exact model, their Boom3i might fit your needs. They even advertise it being strapped on a kayak. It also supports a feature called “PartyCast” which allows connection of something silly like 100 speakers to play in sync. The two models I do have are the Motion 300 and the Boom 2. Connection is solid to both as I can easily be over 50 foot away and there’s no issues.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for small waterproof speakers that can be paired to more speakers with a great connection. ->In my experience, distance and basic obstacles haven't been an issue with either of those speakers. Just to check, I did a quick test inside my house. I turned on the Boom 2 and got some music playing. For reference, I was using an iPhone 16 for my music source. I put down the phone on a tile counter and then moved the speaker to the complete opposite side of the building, maybe about 50 feet away. For the first location, a straight line between the two devices would go through wood cabinets and at least two walls (drywall and wood stud). I then walked around in front of the speaker so that I would be against the speaker and blocking the direct line between the devices. No sound issues. For a second location, I took the speaker and moved it to a corner and put it inside a bathtub (fiberglass, not enameled cast iron, I believe). The direct-line would have been through two double-paned glass windows, tile, and the tub. No sound issues there. For the final location, I went to the other corner of the house and placed it on a wire shelf (inside a wire shelving unit) in the bedroom closet. I then closed the closet door. This gave about three walls and the closet door between the phone and speaker. I did have a small sound issue when placing it on the shelf where the sound stuttered for a second. It didn't interrupt the playback once my hand was away. I didn't try anything crazy like sticking it behind a metal panel since that would be a rare scenario.
