"I have an Anker Soundcore speaker that we use outside all the time but it's pretty large and would hate to lug it around for work."
Slightly atypical question here—I’m looking for a Bluetooth speaker, but my problem in recent years has been that virtually all speakers now seem to come with subwoofers, which I find extremely uncomfortable (the thumping sensation hurts my ears). This results in having to turn bass way down when I pipe music through those speakers, which I don’t want to do! I love bass, I just can’t take the subwoofer thump/vibration. So, my question is: would anyone happen to know of a Bluetooth speaker that has OK bass but does _not_ include a subwoofer? I had an Altec Lansing Jacket H2O a while back that that was great for this (one of the older models, maybe 2 or 3) but unfortunately its waterproof claims turned out to be false, lol, so it died after I exposed it to humidity. I tried the H2O 4 more recently but it ended up having terrible crackling at the low end so I returned it and haven’t tried them again since then. The other Bluetooth speakers I’ve had are the Anker Soundcore 2 and Anker Soundcore 3, which unfortunately _do_ have really intense subwoofer (edit: any subwoofer lol) and are therefore not great for me. Any advice greatly appreciated!
I wouldn't use it for any proper monitoring or mastering, but the Anker Soundcore 2 is a great value, has a 3.5mm stereo aux input, and decent sound. Very handy for using my SeqTrak, and much better than SeqTrak's terrible little speaker. Soundcore 3 is nicer, but sadly doesn't have the aux input.
I have the Soundcore 3 which is just an upgraded version of the Soundcore 2, and I absolutely love it. Since the 3 is very similar to the 2, I would get the Soundcore 2 if I were you. Hard to beat the performance for the price, and it'll put out more sound than the smaller Select. Edit: my bad, thats the Soundcore 1 you have in the pic. If i were you I would look into the Soundcore 2 or 3. The 2 isnt that much more expensive than the 1 and the 3 is like $60 I think? I got my S3 for like $35 on sale, but i would still buy it at $60. A lot of speaker for the money, and has better speakers and Bluetooth connectivity than the 1 and 2. Although if you NEED to have 3.5mm aux then the 2 is the way to go. But the one isnt bad either if youre on a tight budget.
I know this post is a little older, but I wanted to jump in with some recommendations for anyone still looking for the best waterproof Bluetooth speakers for the shower! For a solid option under $200, these are some top picks: 1. **JBL Flip 5** – This is always a popular choice with great sound, a tough waterproof design (IPX7), and long battery life. It’s generally around $100-$120, so it fits nicely within your budget. 2. **Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3** – Super compact, delivers 360-degree sound, and is IP67 rated for both water and dust resistance. Expect to pay around $100. 3. **Anker Soundcore 3** – If you’re looking for something affordable, this is an excellent option with solid sound and IPX7 waterproofing. You can usually find it for about $40-$50. 4. **Bose SoundLink Micro** – A bit pricier at around, but Bose offers fantastic sound quality, and the IPX7 rating makes it perfect for wet environments like the shower. As for those Amazon speakers that look too good to be true, I've seen a few that are hit or miss. While some can work fine for the price, the sound and build quality often don’t match the more established brands. So if you want something that’ll last and sound good, I’d recommend sticking with a more trusted name like JBL, UE, or Bose. Oh, and I actually wrote a detailed blog post on the **best waterproof Bluetooth speakers** if you want more suggestions! Feel free to check it out for a full breakdown of options. \[[https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/](https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/)\] Hope this helps, even if it's a bit late, and happy listening!
Value/money these are incredible. There are indeed better-sounding ones, but not for the price/size.
I literally just bought one of these. Walmart was the only place nearby where I could listen to display models. I was surprised how good this one sounded for $50. I thought it was more clear and crisp than even the pricier models. I've messed with the equalizer a bit, but I really like how even the custom profiles sound. The bass boost button is great for switching between music and podcasts without changing the whole sound profile. Glad other people have a positive opinion. Hope it lasts a good forever or two.
Can’t go wrong with an Anker Soundcore 3, 70$ CAD. Small, USB-C rechargeable. I have 2. Packout speaker is ridiculous and heavy. Jobsite one sucks tbh. Not sure how the new ones are but they were messing around with Bluetooth-less ones which is insane to do. Just stick to who makes the best or has the best value for you. Milwaukee ain’t it for everything
Anker Soundcore 3 Most of the reputable brands are fine though
I had one of those as well, only got the 3 because the 2 uses micro USB and everything in my house is USB C.
I have two of the soundcore speakers for stereo sound and they are awesome. Use them outside and on the beach and the screens have some rust on them but the sound is still great. Only had them 4 years and no problems.
Ok if you are looking for smaller and portable Bluetooth I have the anker sound core. Which sounds ok and is battery powered and the ikea eneby. Also not bad but not in the same league as the ik multimedia.
