Bang and Olufsen Beolit 20. Sonos Era 100 and Marshall Middleton are right under.
Why do you dislike the Beolit 20? I have tested against Klipsch Detroit, Teufel Boomster and JBL Authentics 300… the Beolit 20 sounds most grown up compared to the others, with a balanced surrounding tune. All the others sounded cheap compared to the Beolit. Everybody has a different taste. What I don’t like about the Beolit is its old Bluetooth standard, no real outdoor qualities (water resistance etc) and it’s little noise when no music is playing.
I’m a big B&O fan and love my Beolit 20. I also have a Brane X which is probably my second favorite. The sound quality is superior on the Beolit 20 but the Brane X gets louder and has a lot more bass. I have a lot of other Bluetooth speakers but these are my top two.
It really depends on what you are doing with it. I don’t take it to the beach because it’s heavy and on the fragile side. I bought mine used off eBay for about 400. I’ve also picked up a bunch of other B&O gear and fixed them myself. Mostly new batteries in a couple of A5, P2 and P6 speakers. Sonos might be a better compromise between sound quality and sturdiness. JBL is rugged but more along the line of Bose sound wise.
You might want to look into the B&o beolit 20, clean smooth non-boomy deep bass and a spacious mid and as someone else mentioned, you could look into the Vifa brand speakers also
Bose SoundLink max , great outdoors while also great indoors sound quality wise it's lacking low end bass but the b&o beolit 20 is a wonderful speaker indoors , amazing sound quality and deep soft smooth low ends, the smoothest I've heard from a Bluetooth speaker but not so loud outdoors so I'd say the b&o beolit 20
B&O Beolit 20. Got it for $499 during BF sale. Currently comparing to Sonos Move 2 ($349) and Bose Soundlink Max ($299). Beolit is the winner overall, followed by Sonos and then Bose. All three are big upgrades from my current Bose Revolve+ and JBL Flip (dont remember the model number of flip). I think Beolit and Sonos are better than Marshall Kilburn 3 as well based on my limited testing
A pair of EarFun UBOOM X would be my recommendation. Together they sound like a small hi-fi system. Battery life is excellent. IP67 rating, so weatherproof. You shouldn't expect too much from the Beolit 20. It doesn't even come close to living up to its price. I was able to compare the two live. [https://ibb.co/yc7TdPkp](https://ibb.co/yc7TdPkp)
Many people probably still think that more expensive automatically means better. But that's not always true. OP mentions the Bang & Olufsen BeoLit 20 in his post, which costs around $700 and implies that you can expect an exqusite sound quality from it. I was able to compare the Beolit 20 with the Soundcore Motion Boom and the EarFun UBOOM X. The Beolit is a small speaker with a correspondingly low sound fullness. Even the Motion Boom sounded "bigger" and had a stronger bass performance, but had to admit defeat in terms of brilliance and resolution. The UBOOM X outperformed the Beolit in all respects. The owner of the BeoLit 20 was very disillusioned after this comparison. Here is a photo of the three speakers.: [https://ibb.co/nNn9XNP4](https://ibb.co/nNn9XNP4)
