"Using an old Bose sound link Bluetooth speaker when I need more sound that the mini provides."

"I’ve had the Bose Mini Sound Link for 11 years and at the time it was $99 at Costco but I think their price has increased since then. It sill works really well"
"The mini has been drug all over golf courses and gotten wet countless times."
"My 2 soundlinks are still going strong"

"Sounds great. ... this little bose unit sounds great to just chill with on the back porch, not loud enough for the neighbors to hear but it's able to reproduce great sound at moderate levels."
"YES, you can crank it to full volume without distortion."
"I totally bought BOSE sales pitch in the brochure that said the speaker would not produce needlessly exaggerated bass & was built for space filling clarity."

"Thin for portability. ... I like this flatter form over the round speakers, it will pack better. ... if it packs better the chance is higher it will go more places with me."
"Easy to travel with"

"The Mini II came out in 2015 and looks and functions exactly the same way, but they entirely changed the guts, so replacing the battery now requires nearly completely disassembling the unit to desolder a ribbon cable from the motherboard, and then reflashing the device's firmware from a computer with Bose proprietary software, with not great odds of success for a DIYer. ... So if I ever have to replace the battery I'm probably screwed."
Ground breaking for bass and size at time of release and still has a certain magic about it.
I have a similar SoundLink Mini (yours is a Micro), also a gift from an employer, from 2015. Sounds great and I haven't noticed any decrease in battery life over the years. Unfortunately mine is a Mini **II**. The first-gen Mini the battery came out with four screws for extremely easy replacement; Bose even has instructions on the website. The Mini II came out in 2015 and looks and functions exactly the same way, but they entirely changed the guts, so [replacing the battery now requires nearly completely disassembling the unit to desolder a ribbon cable from the motherboard, and then reflashing the device's firmware from a computer with Bose proprietary software,](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Bose+SoundLink+Mini+II+Battery++Replacement/84991) with not great odds of success for a DIYer. So if I ever have to replace the battery I'm probably screwed. Hopefully it'll be able to run directly from USB power after the battery goes. I have no idea if all the newer Bose speakers have had the same anti-repair design changes, but something to pay attention to when shopping for one.
Loved this one too, but after not using it for a while it didn’t turn on anymore :( Heard it happen to other people too.
Bose Soundlink Mini 2 The most reliable speaker I have ever owned 👌🏻
Unfortunately same. I still love it though. I’m just a little limited because I have to keep mine on the charging doc otherwise it won’t last more than 10 minutes
hell yeah, my soundlink mini 2 is battered and beat to hell, since it is the bluetooth speaker I’ve carried around for the last 10 years, but it still sounds as good as new. it now lives under my computer monitor, permanently connected to it with an aux cable, so it acts as a desktop speaker, and it’s SO much better than any other speaker I’ve ever tried in its size category. I thought it was kinda pricey when I first got it, but damn it, it has such incredible sound for how small it is and has never once let me down, it still even has the original battery and SOMEHOW lasts for more than 8 hours of continuous playback. it’s just amazing.
For traveling I always bring a single Minirig. Long battery, tough, and great bass for a small dude. If we pack good I throw a second one in my wife’s bag. However I did love the Soundlink mini 2 for the longest until it died
Bose Soundlink mini II. Compact, good quality sound, built with metal... still rocking after years of use. In my opinion the definite design they should've keep building it and not change the shapes.
I have the Mini II, great speaker
I liked the JBL Charge 4 since it could connect the speakers to a WALL OF SOUND. Well, at least a wall of sound. However, sound quality wise, absolutely, the soundlink was the benchmark!
