I actually liked my Revolve+ speaker. I never had connection issues with it, the sound was decent for what it was, it was easily portable to wherever I wanted it to be and it was an omni directional speaker. So it worked great for parties inside and outside because there was no difference in the sound all around it.
I use Bose, bought on Amazon sale, its now 7 years old and working well. 4 years back i needed one for my home office so bought a Tribit, for half the price. Just as good
I've been through three bluetooth speakers in the last two years and they all have the same problem. They sound fine when I'm doing dishes or have people over, but the second I want to play something at like 20% volume late at night while reading or cooking dinner solo, everything turns into a thin tinny mess. Bass disappears, vocals get this weird hollow quality, and I end up just turning my phone speaker on instead. I get that there's some Fletcher Munson loudness curve thing happening at low volumes but most consumer speakers don't seem to engineer for it at all. The auto loudness compensation on some of them actually makes it worse, like it's pumping fake bass that sounds boomy and disconnected from the rest of the mix. Most of what gets recommended in this sub is built for parties or beach use. I want something specifically meant to live indoors and sound decent at conversational volume. Doesn't need to be portable, doesn't need to be waterproof, just needs to not sound like garbage at the volume I actually use it 90 percent of the time. Mostly trying to figure out if this is a driver count thing, a tuning thing, or just a spend more money thing.
My Bose revolve plus has been going strong for 9 or 10 years, even after accidentally dropping it and my JBL Go 4 is great for my office
Bose soundlink revolve+
Try 2 of them on stereo.. fills up a decent size room with neutral almost natural sound. Goes on discount for 17k every year near diwali..best option to pick up 2 and enjoy. Definitely not for a serious listener but good enough for those who just want something decent without breaking the bank
I have the Marsall Middelthon 2 Bluetooth speaker I have buy it at 233€ in Belgium wat is 270 USD dollar , you can have him 40 USD dollar cheaper at Amazon Then where I bought it. This is a very good speaker the best Bluetooth speaker i have had so far i find it better than the Bose soundlink Revolve + that i had The thing about this speaker is that it is a speaker ho only support SBC and AAC codec and still sound more Detailed in AAC than the Anker soundcore X600 with LDAC codec ( High Res ) that i olso have Because the drivers are so good Build and tuned of this Marshall This Marshall has a IP67 rating and is very robust and strong build and can take a beating and still has a elegant design. A JBL Extreme 4 also has an IP67 and olso robust and strong build but is not a elegant speaker it is therefore ideal as a travel speaker to put in the backpack or suitcase where they throw in the airport with and can handle dust, sand and is waterproof Anker Soundcore of course is the Cheapest in price / quality this is because it is a Chinese brand and they have lower production costs but I choose to rather spend a little more and go for a Marsall what is a brand of Great Britain Price / quality I personally also think Marsall is a better Choices than Bose but that is my Opinion In terms of detailed sound it is better than Bose, JBL, Harman Kardon Many brands like JBL focus a lot on bass and too little on detailed sound the Marsall also has a strong Bass but focus more on detailed sound, Bose I find Muffled sound I also think the Marsall Middelthon is the right compromise between still compact enough and sound performance and quality yes you can go more compact but that is at the expense of sound performance and quality so i I would personally not recommend this LDAC ( high Res ) on Bluetooth speakers is actually a pure marketing strategy because you actually need a very good High end component sound system of around 4600 USD dollars with a high-quality amplifier from e.g. Yamaha, NAD , Denon or Marantz and high end speakers from vb KEF or B&W to actually be able to hear the difference in High Res audio you can't hear this with regular Bluetooth speakers And then the streaming service still has to support this the funny thing is that Apple Music supports High Res audio but an iPhone is limited to AAC codec so you have to use AirPlay to have High Res audio but AirPlay works with Wi-Fi and not with Bluetooth
I have the Anker soundcore X600 and it sounds better than my bose Revolve+ However it is mutch bigger and Heavier and less practical to take with you in the small badback on the plain Wen you go on vacation I use the the soundcore for vacations with the car and still use the Bose Revolve+ for vacation with the plain When I think about it now I should have bought the Marsall Middelthon 2 to have the best combination of sound quality and compactness and it also has an IP67 rating, the bose Revolve+ is the winner for compactness and And lightweight The Marsall Middelthon is a lot heavier but really weight doesn't matter much For a plane trip because a Bluetooth speaker must be mandatory in the hand luggage where, unlike the Suitcase for the cargo area is no weight restriction Don't be Opsed by the Bluetooth codecs I have a big harman cardon Bluetooth speaker In my parents' country house with a simple SBC codecs and it even still sound better than the soundcore x600 with LDAC High Res codecs the Build quality and quality of the drivers are even more important than a superior Bluetooth codecs Wen are going to talk about the audiphiel topic I think we should put something into perspective, at your home where At home i perfectly understand that when Hifi and sound is your passion that people ho can offort it and have the Money for it have an expensive audio component system with KEF or B&W speakers and an AV Riever from Yamaha or Denon or Marantz But For two weeks to take with you a Bluetooth speaker with you on a trip, is it really necessary for these two weeks to have the very best of the very best sound in your hotel room or bungalow? There are refugees who have no food and no roof over their heads so maybe put it into perspective a little more because we are already too spoiled Including my self , I also have to learn to take little more distance from materialism and not always want to need to have the top and be happy with what I have
