"But if you're looking to add more over time then you probably want something like Bose or Sonos ... But that's as many as you can use with this product. If you wanted to add more over time to use within the same app or control system, you'd probably want Sono's IMO."

Harmon Kardon Onyx 8 if you're just looking for a single speaker or just two as they can be chained in stereo. It's powered and sounds best when plugged in. But also allows for wireless use if you want to bring it around the room like a regular old bluetooth speaker. This thing slaps, and is way more impressive sound wise then I was expecting. Plus, it has a really good premium feel to the materials it's built out of. I just got one for my sister and she loves it. But if you're looking to add more over time then you probably want something like Bose or Sonos [Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 | Portable stereo Bluetooth speaker](https://my.harmankardon.com/ONYX-STUDIO-8-.html)

If you're talking the Harmon Kardon Onyx 8 I got it for 50% off, in Canada that was $250cad dollars. The Beosound A9 is over $5000USD but you only need one. Hook up on the Onyx 8 was really easy just hit the bluetooth button and pick it in your phones bluetooth settings. You can run two for stereo or mono play. But that's as many as you can use with this product. If you wanted to add more over time to use within the same app or control system, you'd probably want Sono's IMO.

Honestly, I was impressed with it for what I payed. It certainly sounds and plays louder with more bass when plugged in. But even when not plugged in and run without the power cord it sounds great. I've read online people have seen them in the USA for less then $200 when on sale. So, it's certainly affordable. Another suggestion would be the Cambridge Audio Evo One.

Onyx 9, good option. If you're lucky you can find 2 Onyx 8 and listen in stereo

Grab 2 HK Onyx Studio 8s and pair them together and that I believe would be the best bang for the buck option 1 already sounds heavenly, 2 is a whole other level Plus the 8 hour battery, while not being the greatest, should be sufficient for a bit of outdoor usage

Grab an Onyx Studio 7/8. You can find them easily at that price or even cheaper and they will have an AUX port. In terms of bass and sound quality to price ratio they have no Equal

HK Onyk Studio should be good for you. It has a battery, good bass, fun to watch movies, and captures the sound of the atmosphere completely. When placing it, you don't have to place it next to your macbook. You can place it anywhere. The sound will jump onto the screen itself. Another thing is that listening to music is beautiful too.

It's often reduced to 129$. But I recommend you go listen to it at the store before buying. Don't believe the reviews, our top priority is + ease of use. For me, the best onyx is in this order: onyx 6 > 4 > 8, friend.

do you have an outdoor or indoor focus? you can find good deals on harman/kardon speakers at the minute, especially the onyx 8 since the onyx 9 is out (they perform very similarly sound-wise). hk speakers sound great but aren't so good for the outdoors. but if outdoor-worthy is important to you, the ue epicboom is a shade over 200, but dropping in price gradually. you can probably find a used or refurbished deal if being over 200 is a dealbreaker.

You'd be sacrificing on volume, but the only thing that is meaningfully smaller with that same deep thumpy bass would be something like Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 or 8

The deep bass is fun, reminds me of the HK Onyx Studio speakers. I wish they limited it more precisely though, its easy to push it into distortion with custom settings.

Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio the original one. Bought mine 2013 refurbished on eBay and it’s still going. Bought a replacement battery and it was super easy to replace.

Yeah, both the HK Go+Play and Onyx Studio series would blow away the Max. They are my go-to speakers when I want the music to really shine through. Incredibly deep bass and crystal clear mids and highs. None of my other 5 portable Bluetooth speakers come close. Edit - Just saw someone post the HK Go+Play 3 is selling on ebay for $132 right now. At that price, it's a no brainer.

If you wanna hear bass drops with mid and upper elements too from like space laces, hol, ydg the heavy sub 30hz drops: Harmon kardon onyx series for low priced. But if theres no constraints, the devialet mania will have the best bass you are looking for and clarity. B and O A1 is pretty good too but you’ll prolly wanna run a pair. All the jbls megaboom, the regular mainstream brands all run rly muddy bass that bleeds into the mids. Like at lost lands the soundcamp speakers, kinda mid for the vocals and trebles but u feel the wubs

Yes still very happy with mine. Bought it after testing Marshal, Klipsch, Bose, Audio Pro and HK. For the price its hard to beat. Been 1 yr plus, still sound great. HK Onyx sound the best but too bulky to be carried around.
