Harman Kardon - Onyx Studio 9

I got the HK Onyx 9 for half price and that speaker blows my mind. I’ll try bringing it to the beach with me in the summer.

It goes 30hz. Even the tiny 4.5inch woofer on hk onyx 9 has a bass peak at 34hz

hands down onyx 9. proper deep rumble at 30hz. it as a big bass peak at 52ish hz and a secondary peak at 34hz. I had onyx 6 for years and recently got onyx 9. both of these are like a subwoofer when you place the right. they even have proper deep bass even at 10% volume.

The 5 is an amazing speaker. I have the 5 and the 9. I've used the 5 a lot more than the 9. Generally speaking, for portable Bluetooth speakers, Harman is in a category of their own achieving such great sound at low wattage.

Onyx 9, good option. If you're lucky you can find 2 Onyx 8 and listen in stereo

I just bought my new onyx 9 from t mobile for $179 plus tax. Its pretty good.

I bought the onyx 9 after researching. My home stereo is great with a nice subwoofer. I wanted a portable speaker and researched. Onyx 9 was the answer.

I just bought a Studio 9 and it’s amazing, but it’s not for the outdoors at all. Portable, sure, but the outer casing has fabric that might tear in a backpack. All of this just to say it’s a great speaker 😆

Appreciate your take. That checks out from what I’ve read. I love my pair of Onyx S. 9 in stereo, so tuned by H/K means something in my book. Didn’t know that transparent end was glass. I assumed it was plastic or something less fragile. Something to think about.

I also love my pair of Onyx Studio 9s in stereo, but I am considering something far more portable that I can bring with me. Problem with the EarFun UBOOM X is that it is [€160 from their website](https://www.myearfun.com/eu/speakers/earfun-uboom-x-portable-bluetooth-speaker-black), it's been out of stock for a while, and I don't know where else to source them from since Amazon.de does not have them. Also, let's say I disregard Oluv's recent comments that the speaker is likely unsupported already. It's really big and heavy and a couple of sizes above a Charge 6.

Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 or 9 can be had for around this price sometimes. From firsthand experience comparing them side by side at home, I found that the Onyx speakers have much better and deeper bass regardless of their 50W rating vs the 80W rating of the Soundcore, which makes sense since they’re twice the weight.

Just replaced it with 2x Harman Kardon onyx 9. Huge leap in quality but form factor not this great

Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio the original one. Bought mine 2013 refurbished on eBay and it’s still going. Bought a replacement battery and it was super easy to replace.
