I have the Luma and the skullcandy speakers. The Luma are for outdoors camping or a mood at night in the house and the skull candy are a hit with the kids taking with them to the park, etc. I would go with the luma given your stated use unless really high volumes and entertaining a crowd is in your plans.
just found this reddit thread because I was searching for a reason one of my Luma Duos was doing the same thing. Hmmm... might be returning myself.
Luma Duo constantly turns off randomly even with good battery life left. Very bizarre. Might be returning unfortunately. Lights are very cool.
This isn’t true. A lot of portable speakers like JBL have a little bit of latency that makes it impossible to beatmatch precisely. This is a known problem (see videos on YouTube about it). I use Ion Audio or Anker bc the latency is not an issue.
