"The JBL lineup is relatively cheap, with the most value for your money a charge, second-hand they go for 50-75 euro, I believe they are new around 100 euro."

"The Charges are simply JBL's best ultra portable speakers and offer so much more sound and fun for just a little more money. ... Yes, the JBL Charge is a bit heavier and a bit larger than the JBL Flip, but that's within reason and the added value totally makes up for it."

How about all of the other cylinder shaped speakers?? They all came with circle drivers and now when jbl used the racetrack driver in their charge4 for the first time everybody started doing it. Sony, huawei, xiaomi, mifa, and many others. I know there has been 2 way speakers since or before the jbl charge 4 but im talking about the woofer and that everyone is copying them and nobody can thing of a new design. Atleast the tronsmart s100 used a new type of design and finally changed something up.

Agree, I have the partybox 300, pretty decent warm sound. I also have the charge 4, that I use to bring easily on camping without a car etc. The extreme's are better than charge's. But yeah I would recommend the partybox series myself. 100's are a bit small, but possible to put in a backpack. 300 has decent sound for 10 people with dancing

got to say I was all in on JBL for years with my Charge 4, not really having much to compare with outside of soundcore and UE but after getting my Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 and Luna I'm not sure there is a better sound quality to price ratio out there for me. Crystal clear sound without distortion at any volume and really well balanced bass. Even better if you can catch any of their speakers on sale.

I don't know how true this is, but I was told by a coworker that the M12 speaker is basically a rebadged JBL Charge 4 or 5 minus one "sub" to make room for the battery terminal. That would actually be cool because I have a JBL charge 4 and it's an awesome little speaker.

I just got the Xtreme 3 for Chrismas and the first couple of days I wasn't a big fan. I wondered if my Charge 4 (which i have used for 3 or 4 years now) is better. But those doubts passed once I got used to the bass. I used it at 2 partys and everyone tought it's so much better + it's a lot louderthe only thing that bothers me now is a kind of white noise while the music is playing. I mean the noise is really quiet but when I'm alone in my room and the volume is down I can hear it and I'm not a big fan. Otherwise I find it great for partys or when you're outside, so if you like listening music with your friends it's a good choice, BUT if you're gonna listen only at home when you're by yourself I consider the Charges 4 and 5 a better option moneywise

I swear by my [Minirig 4](https://minirigs.co.uk/speakers/bluetooth-minirig-4) (and sub, if you want to spend a bit more money) with a cable connection for mixing on the go. I own a JBL Charge 4, but the latency, even with a cable connection, isn't ideal for DJing.

It didn't do this in the first 6 months of owning my charge 4 and flip 6. My charge 4 and flip 6 started doing this after the warranty is over. I didn't use the lfm mode and I played these two speakers at <50% volume. Musics are from Spotify streaming. Flip 6 used default EQ. Air leakage from the charging port? How do I fix this?

I’ve always been an JBL fan but over a 3 year period I’ve had a JBL Charge 4 and a JBL Charge 5 just randomly stop working. My husband has a JBL Boombox that is a tank and never misses a day on the job site and it’s been working like a dream for 3 years but I can’t always lug around a speaker that large.

I think that's the JBL Charge 4, I have that one and used a small setup like this. The Charge 4 has a 3,5 mm jack port, and I think the Charge 5 removed that port. While a setup like this is technically possible, be carefull with bluetooth speakers. Those tend to have a delay (JBL has one), even when connected to the cable. This is because the speaker does some digital processing to the sound, in the case of JBL that's for the party mode where you wirelessly connect a couple of speakers. The delay makes beatmatching between the speaker and your headphones quite annoying. I solved that by completely beatmatching in my headphones. So yes possbile, just not ideal.

Yes, all you'd need is a cable like that indeed! As a bonus tip, turn off the bluetooth of your phone when playing. Sometimes my Charge 4 reconnected with my phone while I was DJing. While this almost never happend, it was really anoying when it did. If you want a alternative check out the Minirig 4, Digital DJ Tips has a nice review on those. Personally I'd prefer the Charge 4 and mixing in headphones over the cable mess of 3 speakers with the Minirig 4.

I've had my Omnis Duo hooked up to a JBL Charge 4. Both through the 3.5mm wire and bluetooth. Between those two there is no noticible diference, meaning, there is a very, very noticable delay. So I just don't bother with the wire anymore. Why / when do I use it? Basically when I'm lazy, in that case I'm using sync and / or mixing in my headphones anyway. I still love it though, it's nice for when I'm just testing some mixes (if they sound any good) or when I'm messing around with friends and the conversations / beers are more important than the music / actual mixing. I do have an EV Everse 8 as a wireless / portable solution. But I agree, would love an even smaller setup. I'm afraid the only solution would be the minirig speakers, those seem to be very expensive tho

Yeah, realistically that isn't going to happen, replacing 10 speakers with 1-3 is tough as it is, much less when those 10 speakers were designed for the space they are in and those 1-3 are jammed into an enclosure with the amp and battery in a single unit... I mean the closest you will get is a one of the big JBL Party Boxes which honestly isn't very portable at like 75 pounds and 45 inches tall, not to mention they run a grand or so. If you just want decent sound quality -AND- portability the JBL Flip, Charge, or even the Extreme series are pretty decent, but for high end quality you are going to be going well over the $500 mark... KEF, Bowers & Wilkens, Sonos, etc. And Bose... Yeah, I am not a huge fan... I would take the Infinity system in my Hyundai over it in a heartbeat for sound quality.

I wouldn't recommend any Earfun speaker to someone who isn't very tech savy. Every Earfun speaker sounds mediocre out of the box and they need EQing. I really like my UBOOM X, but I just can't recommend it to my mom. That's why my mom has a JBL Charge. Also, any of the stock (normal or OLUV's) EQs are way too focused on deep bass, which isn't the best with classical music. And it's not very portable I think, it's rather huge.

Charge has more bass. Flip is lighter more portable. One of my favorite speaker of all time is the JBL Clip 4. But the 5 is better because the power button doesn’t get hit by accident like the 4. Smaller speaker but it sounds great and extremely portable and great battery life.

Not a tip for a specific speaker but check if the people you want to train with, if you're a group that is, already have speakers. In my local group people generally have JBL-speakers and being able to link multiple ones is superb. I have good experiences with both JBL Charge-models and UE Boom-models in general but mostly older models and I know JBL changed their protocol for linking units so be sure to do your research.
