"The Charge 5 does have water resistance though, so I'd lean that route since you said you'd be close to water ... I think the JBL Charge 5 wifi is probably your best bet to leave out on the patio given its weather resistance"

"They are five years old and have spent months of their life outside in the rain/heat and are used on a daily basis. ... Both are still going great"

"I've been using the same JBL charge for probably 10 years."

"the Charge 5 rolls off bass after 50%. Anything above this, and the bass will not increase. ... With the Charge 5 at 75% volume, all I heard was mids and highs and a tiny amount of bass."

"The Charge 5 cuts out bass after 50% volume."

"No deep bass at all. ... But bass? Nah"

"IMO I’m lazy and out of the box experiences breezier and whoever wants to connect with my speakers wont have to fiddle around on the app to tune it… by the time its tweaked - the party is over."

"the mono audio is really obvious. ... JBL doesn’t do as good of a job however."

"it doesnt sound like car speakers. Like its coming from one source, instead of a stereo surround sound like a cars."

JBL charge series is always a great buy, With a $150 budget. I have had my JBL charge 3 since 2018, only recently upgraded to the party box series, because I wanted something bigger and with way more bass. For a desk speaker the charge 4-5 is perfect, it has enough bass with EQ added. The flip and the other smaller ones that you can clip on, are going to be slightly quiet compared to the charge series. The charge series is the happy medium between good sound and portability.

Jbl charge 5. Ive abused two of them extremely hardly for two years and they still work. The cosmetics like the mettal logo will scratch and even fly out after big abuse but i can safely say the speaker holds 3 story drops fine and even works after burning in a fire pit for a minute. Also you can submerge it for 24h+ and it will still work fine. The battery will be the thing the gives out first but thats after 4 years or so.

105db? Thats complete bullshit, i got a jbl charge 6 louder and that clocks at 101,3db(A) and for the 250$ price tag it has worse specs/performance then a charge 6/5. It has worse SPL, worse clarity, worse battery, and worse bass response although durability is mostly equal as far as i have abused both (ranger and charge 6).

Personally i find the x600 awful. Charge 5 comes to mind given your requirements or even soundlink max.

If you like your music slightly laid back maybe get the charge 5 over the 6

6 is brighter, more aggressive. 5 is warmer, more gentle listening.

The JBL Charge 5 and Bose SoundLink Flex were everywhere, and from what I’ve used, they deserve it.

my jbl charge 5 has been around for 3 years but a few months ago, the battery has degraded and it wouldnt play properly if its not connected to a power source. as a heavy bluetooth speaker user, i’d say it was pretty worth it bc i got it for only a hundred bucks back in 2022 and it lasted me quite a while. my charge 5 still works (plugged in) but i still got myself a charge 6 two weeks ago 😁

r/Bluetooth_SpeakersThe Best Bluetooth Speaker Right Now? Recommendation?

I mean for the big speakers a partybox 210 is like okay (also speakers of the same size usually sound very similar), 310 is the best for medium sized rooms and anything above is practically not needed. For the medium sized ones, a boombox 3, charge 4/5/6 are pretty good cost/sound sound variants. For the smaller/little ones it's hard to choose, since you usually can't get much bass out of them. I chose mine by the specs and knowledge. JBL has been around for years and has developed a pretty huge ecosystem of syncing tws clear sounding speakers. Although they're pretty pricey, I think most of their speakers are worth it. How to choose: Ratings/comments under product Specs (Size, wattage and speaker range. The lower it goes, the better it usually is.) Price: must not be overpriced. The less rgb the lower the price (usually (not talking about partyboxes rn))
