"both of those perform pretty well for what they are ... they sound a heck of a lot better than most tool brand speakers, even ones that are a good bit larger. ... the quality of sound is much better. ... If it sounds as good as an older-gen Flip, etc., I'd probably be happy enough with that."

"The thing about these is most of them still only give about *half* the stated runtime in reality. So if they're saying something like 12hrs, they've actually only give 6hrs in typical/real use."

"for the price it's going for of 159:99$ plus tax here it is simply god awful. ... I only paid 78$ for it open box and even that was too much ... it definitely should've been a big jump up. ... In reality, it was a huge disappointment if I'm being straight up & honest with you."

"The Bose is just better. It gets louder, stays clearer at high volume, produces more and clearer bass, and sounds more detailed and refined across the board."

"The results were amusing from a quality standpoint ... Then, even when you do, the sound will be wacky, muffled, unmusical, and just plain shit, and that's assuming you don't crack the speakers pumping a bass guitar through them."

No way bro, I keep touching my flip 5's radiator since 3 years ago and everything is ok
r/JBL • JBL Charge 5 users, are you happy with your portable speaker ? ->I got this speaker about 6 months ago and it’s been working great! Good bass and sound, it works better in the humidity compared to normal Bluetooth speaker like JBL. My flip 5 died just recently even though it was just in the shower with mild humidity. I’d definitely recommend paying a little extra for this speaker since it’s specifically designed for the saunas heat and humidity
r/Sauna • Harvia wireless sauna Bluetooth speaker ->2 x JBL Partybox 310 1 x JBL Flip 5 1 x JBL Flip 6 1 x Audisse Shirudo ...and looking to buy a Harman Kardon Go + Play 3
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • How many Bluetooth Speakers Do You Have? ->I have the Ditoo Divoom and JBL Flip 5 and I am happy with both of them. You can get a nifty protective silicone sleeve and strap for the JBL on Aliexpress as well.
r/australia • Bluetooth portable speaker ->Yeah, it is really bassy. I turned down the bass with the EQ but it's definitely still there.
r/australia • Bluetooth portable speaker ->I know this post is a little older, but I wanted to jump in with some recommendations for anyone still looking for the best waterproof Bluetooth speakers for the shower! For a solid option under $200, these are some top picks: 1. **JBL Flip 5** – This is always a popular choice with great sound, a tough waterproof design (IPX7), and long battery life. It’s generally around $100-$120, so it fits nicely within your budget. 2. **Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3** – Super compact, delivers 360-degree sound, and is IP67 rated for both water and dust resistance. Expect to pay around $100. 3. **Anker Soundcore 3** – If you’re looking for something affordable, this is an excellent option with solid sound and IPX7 waterproofing. You can usually find it for about $40-$50. 4. **Bose SoundLink Micro** – A bit pricier at around, but Bose offers fantastic sound quality, and the IPX7 rating makes it perfect for wet environments like the shower. As for those Amazon speakers that look too good to be true, I've seen a few that are hit or miss. While some can work fine for the price, the sound and build quality often don’t match the more established brands. So if you want something that’ll last and sound good, I’d recommend sticking with a more trusted name like JBL, UE, or Bose. Oh, and I actually wrote a detailed blog post on the **best waterproof Bluetooth speakers** if you want more suggestions! Feel free to check it out for a full breakdown of options. \[[https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/](https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/)\] Hope this helps, even if it's a bit late, and happy listening!
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Best waterproof Bluetooth speaker of all prices for shower? ->I received a Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen as a gift. Being fairly invested in the JBL ecosystem already, I thought it would be fun to compare. Perhaps this will be useful to people cross shopping the brands. Sound comparisons were made before I looked at the price of the Bose. I kept the Bose at 75% volume and adjusted the others to compare. I liked the Bose 3-band EQ (in the app) at +8/-4/+2, so that's what I used (the EQ effect is pretty subtle on this speaker overall). Note, I can only compare to the last-gen Flip 5 that I have. Supposedly the newer Flip 6 is significantly improved. In terms of physical size, the Bose (20.7 oz) comes in just slightly larger than the Flip 5 (19.6 oz), and much smaller than the Charge 5 (34.3 oz). The Xtreme3 dwarfs them all at 74.4 oz (including carry strap). **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Flip 5** The Bose is just better. It gets louder, stays clearer at high volume, produces more and clearer bass, and sounds more detailed and refined across the board. If you can afford the extra cost of the Bose ($119 at time of writing) over the JBL ($100 for the *Flip 6* at time of writing), I think it is well worth the cost. I can't imagine the extra 1 oz weight would ever really make a meaningful difference. Frankly, before looking at the price of the Bose, I thought the price difference would be significantly more. **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Charge 5** The Bose punches above its weight here. It produces a similar quantity of bass to the JBL, while staying tighter and less boomy. The Bose produces rich, warm mids and highs, and the JBL shows a noticable "tinny-ness" when compared side by side. I distinctly prefer the sound quality of the Bose ($119 at time of writing) over the JBL ($140 at time of writing). That said, the JBL does get significantly louder overall, so if you plan to use it primarily in large spaces like gymnasiums or outside, then the JBL would probably be worth the extra cost. **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Xtreme 3** The Bose just gets outclassed here. In some sense, you could still say the Bose is a bit more detailed and refined... but that argument kind of falls apart when the JBL can comfortably fill your living room with deep bass notes that the Bose can't really reproduce at all. Perhaps if you were planning to *exclusively* listen to technical classical music at modest volumes you'd still prefer the Bose. But for the rest of us, if the size and cost ($250 at time of writing) of the JBL are not a problem for you, then it's a clear choice. **Conclusion** The Bose impressed me in a big way. I have traditionally considered Bose products to be a bit overpiced, but in this case I think it's highly competetive. I think the Bose will replace the Charge 5 as my dedicated bathroom/shower speaker.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen - A JBL User's Perspective ->It’s really a amazing speaker
r/BuyItForLife • Bluetooth speaker? All mine end up with busted speakers at some point. ->I would go Charge 5. Charge 5 is on sale for $139.95. I'm gonna be honest. I'm not sure how much of a step up upgrade or downgrade the Flip 5 to the Flip 6. But, I had the Flip for 5 years. I just got the Charge 5 a few weeks ago and the sound quality between the Flip 5 and Charge 5 is signicant. I feel the bass was more pronounced, punchy, attacky if it makes sense with Flip 5 than the Charge 5. Everything else though. A lot bigger sound.
r/JBL • JBL Charge 5 or Flip 6? ->I own a JBL flip 5 and though the bass is nice, it can be a little boomy and if the song doesn’t record the instruments clearly you won’t be able to hear them
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Best Bluetooth speakers ->I have so of them minus the Beats Pill. The overwhelming consensus on this one is that if you stay within the 50% volume range, it'll sound great but as you go up in volume the sound starts to break and sound terrible. From the others, the best is the Bose Flex. The sound is more "closed" standing up, but it's beauty is that its EQ changes completely when on its back (position #2). The speaker opens up and the highs come out. It sounds great! So much so that it actually sounds like a real speaker. It's sound never breaks up at any volume and has enough low end to be satisfying (movies or music) and It just sounds"right". It's BT lag is the best in the business so you will have voices sync when watching videos. It's also hard a great mic for calls. And I can't believe it's from Bose because I can't stand the brand! The JBL Flip and Sony don't sound "right". The Sony may be louder and bassier but even with its EQ, the sound never sounds right. The mids and highs always sound like a blanket has been put over it. The Flip may sound more right than the Sony but sounds hollow in the middle when you put it up against the Bose's balance. Just remember that the Bose sounds great on it's belly, but standing up, sounds closed like the Sony. The Bose goes on sale constantly so try to catch it at $109 or even better come Black Friday. I grabbed the Filp and Sony for $99 but again didn't compete against the openness and balance of the Bose!
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Beats Pill 2024 vs JBL flip 6 vs Sony Ult field 1 vs Bose sound link flex ->For only shower go series is enough, but for anything else Flip will be better (I use my old GO2 for work, biking sometimes and I wish it had more volume especially on the bike or in an open field).
r/JBL • Best shower speaker ->Jbl flip is a good portable speaker. Just pay attention because jbl removed the line in jack from later versions of the flip.
r/synthesizers • Portable Speaker with Aux In to Connect to a Synth. ->It's possible. I've used my wireless system and a 1/4-1/8 converter to connect my bass (via my Helix Stomp as preamp) to a JBL Flip which was the 'poweramp'. The results were amusing from a quality standpoint, but it would have worked fine for quiet practice at home, were I not to have many other non-absurd better options. The obvious issue is that these speakers aren't designed or voiced for bass guitar, and they don't have a preamp; so you'll need to find a way to preamplify your bass for starters. Then, even when you do, the sound will be wacky, muffled, unmusical, and just plain shit, and that's assuming you don't crack the speakers pumping a bass guitar through them. All you're doing is setting yourself up to have wasted a reasonable amount of money. But, just to avoid raining on your parade fully, you can totally use powered full range PA cabs to amplify a bass, and you can find these all over the place on the secondhand market, in pawn shops and on FB Marketplace for really cheap. They're a better solution, and often way cheaper (like $80-150) than a JBL. You'll still ideally need a preamp of some sort to control your tone, but I've done coffee-shop style gigs with my Alto 112, which is about 100w RMSish I reckon, and I got that for $100AU (60USish).
r/Bass • Bluetooth speaker as a bass amp ->The Charge has a bit more bass and volume vs Flip. Sony Ult 1 or 300 XE are nice items. I was able to try Ult 1; nice sound. Soundcore Glow, 300, 600 are good speakers too.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Bluetooth speaker for casual use ->I think technically Bose Flex is the absolute best sounding small personal speaker. The JBL Flip 6 is a great sounding speaker. To me, it sounded better than the prior model the Flip 5. I do like speakers with small footprints personally. I do like the Flip and Charges from JBL and the Wonderboom and Boom from UE because of the small footprint.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Bluetooth Speaker Suggestion ->They are mono, I think. At least, when I've mastered a track, I often find anything I've put wide in the mix seems to have phasing issues on the JBL. Might not matter for jamming with Move though
r/ableton • Ableton Move external speaker ->JBL flips are pretty small and they bang. Obviously don't mix on them but for writing they're great.
r/ableton • Ableton Move external speaker ->Sony has warmer sound, also looks and feels better. Especially for older people sony sound better Jbl Flip has a bit more 'power' tho, that you don't need if you are not outside with your friends trying to blast loud music You could also consoder Soundcore Motion+ for this price, but you'd have to tweak a bit in the EQ. If you want a bigger speaker overall, Charge Essential 2 might be an option. All around the price region of the Sony, especially witz black friday coming up
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Which speaker to choose? ->JBL. I have had one for years. It’s water resistant. Has great sound. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. I have literally dropped it in the bath tub with the kids and it still sounds great. Also for rock you can turn on “party mode” which makes is louder and heavier bass.
r/alterbridge • Home/portable/bluetooth speaker suggestions primarily for around the house ->I have the Flip.
r/alterbridge • Home/portable/bluetooth speaker suggestions primarily for around the house ->Jbl Flip for sure
r/alterbridge • Home/portable/bluetooth speaker suggestions primarily for around the house ->JBL flip series. Fits perfect in a bottle holder or can be mounted to the frame.
