"The Bose is just better. It gets louder, stays clearer at high volume, produces more and clearer bass, and sounds more detailed and refined across the board."

Is the flip 7 really that bad?? I have the flip 5 and while it's not the best, for the price and how durable it has been I would absolutely recommend it. It is still going strong after 4.5-5 years of use.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Portable Speaker suggestions - gift for 22 year old Gen Z Grandson ->I got this speaker about 6 months ago and it’s been working great! Good bass and sound, it works better in the humidity compared to normal Bluetooth speaker like JBL. My flip 5 died just recently even though it was just in the shower with mild humidity. I’d definitely recommend paying a little extra for this speaker since it’s specifically designed for the saunas heat and humidity
r/Sauna • Harvia wireless sauna Bluetooth speaker ->I’ve got the JBL Flip 5 and move it to all my classic cars. For my ‘67 bus I’ve got the basket cupholder from JBugs or Wolfsburg West that hooks into the dash slots on the bus and it fits right into the drink holder. Holds my cell also as I’ve rigged up a holder to the basket so I can tap safely. I’ve also installed a USB charger port in the ashtray that I got from https://www.classicchargers.com
r/VWBus • Speaker for 1960 Bus ->Both my MotionBoom+ and Flip 5 have fallen into my hottub repeatedly with no ill effects.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • New boat speaker - Wonderboom 3 got wet and died ->We’ve dropped our JBL flip 5 in twice in the two months we’ve had our hot tub! 🤦♀️ It keeps working!
r/hottub • What sort of sound system does your tub have ? ->Charge 4 or flip 5 imo cuz lfm
r/JBL • Which Bluetooth portable speaker? ->A pair of JBL flip 5’s are my bedroom stereo and a pair of flip 6’s is my work stereo. 🎶
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • What's your favorite stereo pair of Bluetooth speakers? ->I know this post is a little older, but I wanted to jump in with some recommendations for anyone still looking for the best waterproof Bluetooth speakers for the shower! For a solid option under $200, these are some top picks: 1. **JBL Flip 5** – This is always a popular choice with great sound, a tough waterproof design (IPX7), and long battery life. It’s generally around $100-$120, so it fits nicely within your budget. 2. **Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3** – Super compact, delivers 360-degree sound, and is IP67 rated for both water and dust resistance. Expect to pay around $100. 3. **Anker Soundcore 3** – If you’re looking for something affordable, this is an excellent option with solid sound and IPX7 waterproofing. You can usually find it for about $40-$50. 4. **Bose SoundLink Micro** – A bit pricier at around, but Bose offers fantastic sound quality, and the IPX7 rating makes it perfect for wet environments like the shower. As for those Amazon speakers that look too good to be true, I've seen a few that are hit or miss. While some can work fine for the price, the sound and build quality often don’t match the more established brands. So if you want something that’ll last and sound good, I’d recommend sticking with a more trusted name like JBL, UE, or Bose. Oh, and I actually wrote a detailed blog post on the **best waterproof Bluetooth speakers** if you want more suggestions! Feel free to check it out for a full breakdown of options. \[[https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/](https://voyedy.com/best-waterproof-bluetooth-speakers/)\] Hope this helps, even if it's a bit late, and happy listening!
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Best waterproof Bluetooth speaker of all prices for shower? ->I received a Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen as a gift. Being fairly invested in the JBL ecosystem already, I thought it would be fun to compare. Perhaps this will be useful to people cross shopping the brands. Sound comparisons were made before I looked at the price of the Bose. I kept the Bose at 75% volume and adjusted the others to compare. I liked the Bose 3-band EQ (in the app) at +8/-4/+2, so that's what I used (the EQ effect is pretty subtle on this speaker overall). Note, I can only compare to the last-gen Flip 5 that I have. Supposedly the newer Flip 6 is significantly improved. In terms of physical size, the Bose (20.7 oz) comes in just slightly larger than the Flip 5 (19.6 oz), and much smaller than the Charge 5 (34.3 oz). The Xtreme3 dwarfs them all at 74.4 oz (including carry strap). **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Flip 5** The Bose is just better. It gets louder, stays clearer at high volume, produces more and clearer bass, and sounds more detailed and refined across the board. If you can afford the extra cost of the Bose ($119 at time of writing) over the JBL ($100 for the *Flip 6* at time of writing), I think it is well worth the cost. I can't imagine the extra 1 oz weight would ever really make a meaningful difference. Frankly, before looking at the price of the Bose, I thought the price difference would be significantly more. **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Charge 5** The Bose punches above its weight here. It produces a similar quantity of bass to the JBL, while staying tighter and less boomy. The Bose produces rich, warm mids and highs, and the JBL shows a noticable "tinny-ness" when compared side by side. I distinctly prefer the sound quality of the Bose ($119 at time of writing) over the JBL ($140 at time of writing). That said, the JBL does get significantly louder overall, so if you plan to use it primarily in large spaces like gymnasiums or outside, then the JBL would probably be worth the extra cost. **Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen vs. JBL Xtreme 3** The Bose just gets outclassed here. In some sense, you could still say the Bose is a bit more detailed and refined... but that argument kind of falls apart when the JBL can comfortably fill your living room with deep bass notes that the Bose can't really reproduce at all. Perhaps if you were planning to *exclusively* listen to technical classical music at modest volumes you'd still prefer the Bose. But for the rest of us, if the size and cost ($250 at time of writing) of the JBL are not a problem for you, then it's a clear choice. **Conclusion** The Bose impressed me in a big way. I have traditionally considered Bose products to be a bit overpiced, but in this case I think it's highly competetive. I think the Bose will replace the Charge 5 as my dedicated bathroom/shower speaker.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen - A JBL User's Perspective ->Tribit Micro is a great pocket speaker. Earfun Uboom X is a high value bass blaster. Bose soundlink flex is a nice middle ground speaker and the JBL flip & Charge have good bass for the size.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Smallest BT speaker with Best Bass response? ->That is a tiny speaker, does not have much bass at all. You might want to check out a JBL flip 5 if you like that "JBL Sound". The Tribit Stormbox micro 2 has deeper bass than the clip if you want an ulltrportable.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Looking for Bluetooth speakers that vibrate strongly with bass (like or better than JBL Go 3) ->Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 decent for the size and weight. I use one on the bike sometimes. .6lbs. Earfun uboom L and the JBL Flip are good soda can size speakers. Both are under 2lbs. Of the speakers you have in mind I would go for the 2.1lb JB charge 6 over the heavy suckers. The Soundcore Moton Boom 2 Is a good & relatively lightweight camping speaker if you want bass. Not too fancy or expensive. 3.6lbs. That is the heaviest speaker I would want to hike with.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Advise me in buying a good Bluetooth-Speaker for hiking ->Megablast weighs 2.4lbs (About the same weight as my Soundcore Motion plus. I have a .6lb Tribit Micro that does a nice job for its size but it does not have much bass outdoors. (It straps on to handlebars easily). A speaker like the JBLflip weighs about 1lb and has more bass than my little Tribit. The Earfun Uboom L is just a little bit heavier than a Flip but has better sound and costs less. At 1.4lbs it is a whole lb. less than the Megaboom. The small Uboom will sound better than the Tribit Micro or any of the extra small speakers so I would consider that option if you want something significantly smaller than a hyperboom that does not sacrifice your sound .
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Portable outdoor speaker ->JBL Flip and Charge are solid speakers and not bad values "when you get them on sale". Xiaomi Outdoor is going for about $50 which puts it into Earfun UboomL territory. About the same weight as the Flip and UboomL too.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Did all the research and finally narrowed it down to this Bluetooth speaker. ->My 20 year old Tivoli PAL speaker did that. Just got sticky one day and looks like ass. (Still works). Some hand and suntan lotions have stuff in it that will break down the rubberized surface, try to keep that off your speakers and your bike grips. The JBL flips are fairly durable and I have not seen the rubber degrade. Extremely popular speaker so I bet they will hold up for five years which is about all you shojuld expect from a lithium battery. The cheaper BT speakers are the only ones that are all plastic. Most buttons are rubberized nowadays. For sound quality and value the Earfun Uboom X is hard to beat. I think you can get it for $120 from the Earfun Website with the 25% off coupon.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Best small, portable, desktop-friendly speakers without rubberized surfaces? ->\# 1 choice would be noise canceling headphones. Those just murder the background noise and let you listen to music at a lower volume. I you want deep bass the Earfun Uboom x is still available on the "global" website and is compact powerhouse that many people think sounds better than any other sub 10lb boombox on the market. I can't think of a speaker under $200 that beats it in any category but "looks". (It is a boring plastic boombox, the Ford Taurus of speakers). If that is too big a JBL Flip or Earfun Uboom L will destroy that little sony.
r/Bluetooth_Speakers • What’s a speaker that’s a little louder than a Sony XB100 that you’d use for a work van? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
