I have both (Flip 6 and Ult 1) and Sony definetly has better battery life and more power. It sounds louder and has more bass presence and depth, though JBL sounds crisper and has more detail in the highs, but the Sony sounds fuller due to having more mid-high bass.

I recieved my new Ult Field 1 yesterday and i've been doing some tests comparing it to both of my JBL Charge 5's, TL and TT versions. Today i wanted to test the bass so i put my usual bass test video wich goes from 100hz to 20hz with 5hz steps and i discovered that when the Charge 5 goes below 60hz, the volume decreases significantly when in the other hand, my Sony Ult Field 1 kept almost the same good volume on the bass up to 50hz. Below that, on 45hz the bass on the Charge 5 completely dissapears when the Sony still kept reproducing the frequency at a reasonably audible volume. Any thoughts about this? Has anyone tested it? This shocked me because many reviewers and people in general tend to say that the JBL FLIP 6 has a deeper bass than the Sony and even though i don't have the Flip 6, taking in count what the Sony managed to do here, it just cannot be true that the Flip 6 has a better bass response. The Sony basically reached the JBL Xtreme 3 frequency response being a quarter of it's size. On rtings.com page, the Sony ult field 1 reached a low-frequency response of 55.8hz, the Flip 6 reached 75.5hz, the Charge 5 reached 58.2hz, and the Xtreme 3 reached down to 55hz. I saw those charts before recieveng my Ult Field 1 and i thought that they did something wrong in the tests but it just proved me wrong. NOTE: both of my Charge 5's we're equalized with the bass turned all the way up and tested on the same phone and same place so there's no excuses here.

How do you know that? It makes sense to me, the bass sounded way less deep compared to the Sony when i heard both. Also, if the charge 5 reaches about 55hz like almost every other speaker of that size, then it makes even less sense to me that, like you said, the Flip 6 rolls off at 50hz.

No problem, and yeah though it is technically true that if you use it at 50% volume it could last you 12 hours, a speaker that sounds so good just makes you want to crank up that volume! If you want any opinions/recommendations though, right now my favourite and the one that i'm gonna stay with is the Earfun Uboom L (i've had Soundcore motion 300, JBL flip 6, Sony ULT Field 1, Soundcore Motion+, JBL Charge 5, etc). You might be surprised, but that single 10 band equalizer is what makes it so good, because you can have the clarity and brightness of the Flip 6 while having the strong deep bass of the Ult Field 1. Just to compare, it goes deeper and way louder than the ULT Field 1, and i think that on indoor Mode it has a deeper bass than the Charge 5, while in outdoor mode it gives an amazing party soundstage, and i also think that it goes the same loudness of the Charge 5, at least with high volume equalizers. The battery life is a bit better than the Sony too!

I said on my post that i got that info from RTINGS.COM. You could be experiencing a fake response, because on almost every speaker that i've tried, you can even hear something on 20-30hz, but it's just the drivers making an attempt to reach that frequency and they aren't really moving at the necessary amplitude but instead, it's making a nonsense sound that could make you think it's reaching that low.

Flip 6 or flip 7. Their really portable and sound just as good as the charges. If you want a powerbank then you should look into the charge 5

No there's practically no difference between the flip 6 and charge 5. Aswell as the flip 6 to the flip 7 and charge 5 to the charge 6 have no difference and nothing major different then the old models. If you don't need a powerbank get a flip 6

The Chinese speaker has strong bass, but it becomes annoying over long listening sessions. Overall, the JBL Flip 6 is worth a try. If I were to recommend one, go for the Bose Flex 2 – its bass sounds more authentic.

Bro motion 300 doesn't come close to Flip 6 in the terms of clarity, instrument separation and bass, but still jbl is a little bit harsh. My first Bluetooth speaker was tribit stormbox micro 2, a bit smaller than average portable speakers and I love it's sound profile it was best to my ears. Later on I tried tribit sound plus, JBL flip 6, motion 300, and currently I'm having Bose SoundLink flex Gen 2. Bose is not everyone it doesn't have a bright sound. And the soundstage is narrow but still somehow it's favorite to Many. I didn't try tribit stormbox flow but I heard it has same sound profile as tribit stormbox micro 2. Tribit sound plus is also called audiophile level speaker so you can try sound plus 2. Motion 300 bass some time so bad that unbearable.

Hello I bought the ult field 1 and well at first I was excited since I never had a better speaker other than those Chinese crap priced at like 20 euros or something. The sound is good I like it but after watching reviews of JBL flip 6 and ult field 1, I came to the conclusion that JBL flip 6 indeed has more clearer sound, it's more crispy. Ult field has better bass. So I guess it depends on what you want to listen to in your music. Sometimes you want the bass with some techno and sometimes you want to hear the clear crisp sound like the person is singing in your own room. So my question is: can you adjust the sound in ult field 1 (music center app by Sony or whoever) to make the sound more clear and crisp or something like that. I tried in the equaliser a bit and I don't know... It's not doing that much.. maybe I am doing it wrong? I set bass to max, mid to 2 and treble to 5 or something like that, since I assume middle is the best attribute in the Sony speaker. When I activate the ult button it does wonders to the bass but then it kinda lacks in highs sometimes I don't know. Another question, is it possible to have both ult button on and the equalizer turned on to your liking?

I have a JBL Flip 6 that sounds very good and has a decent bass thump. The comparable Bose is a little better to my ears at twice the price, but I’m frugal and the stretch wasn’t worth it to me.

I traveled with the flip 6 the last years, but at the trips, it always seemed to big for the luggage / in the bags. I really like the Stormbox micro 2 design wise, even more since it can be used as a powerbank, but I got the soundcore select 4 go and I really like it (not the tribit mostly cause of its price, not that I couldn’t afford, but I don’t like to spend that much on a small speaker😅). I wished the soundcore had the powerbank function too, but it’s half the price and at that difference, I’m not really willing to get the tribit instead😅 and it is a really great deal for its price. It is loud as a personal speaker and with fitting equalizer settings in the soundcore app it sounds way bigger ( in its thump) at moderate volumes where I’m listening. Of course not meant for party, but still fitting for a little gathering or so, or when working some where else. For example, I was fixing my bike 3 days ago and hung it close by at ~ 30 % volume and it was nice background music and still easily hearable. If you don’t care about bass and it’s just about volume, I don’t think either of the small will do bad, cause all get loud, but if it’s about party bass for multiple peeps or yourself, you will need a physically BIG speaker

I think it depends on your liking. The boom 2 is significantly bigger than the rest, and I personally don’t like the look, but if that’s what u want, go for it. I listened to flip 6, motion 300 and ult field 1, and I would call each of them a really good speaker, all of them are still portable. I didn’t with the wonderboom. But I know it’s former models which all missed bass and sounded smaller. Think about the scenarios you’d use it in. Often on the go, but all in one system? Id choose a small one like flip 6, the Sony or motion 300. are you always by car and using it close to the car so you can easily transport it and use it the rest of the time at home? I’d choose the big speaker then (boom 2)

Sry, I didn’t see your comment. I’m unshure about this, the soundcore looks more premium imo. I think the flip and Sony seem more robust. Flip has no mic, but I know it as being good to repair (like battery swapping etc.), so it’ll last long. I don’t think you would regret buying either of them.

Well, considering decibel, 60 db at 1m distance is really quiet for what I consider a usable speaker. If measured the same way. I think most portables I know are in the range of a maximum of 83-90. This is cause 10db jump equals roundabout a doubling of the felt loudness. So 10 more is much (so, ~20db more at ~80 is waay louder) Are you planning to have your speaker outside of the shower? And a bit far away? Cause I would even consider my phone to be loud enough to use while lying next to my shower, so I would say get a good small one like soundcore select 4 go, that’s noticeably louder and thumpier than my phone, can be tweaked over the in app eq to your liking and is waterresitant so it could be placed next to you in the shower. If that’s not enough, i would choose a speaker with a 2-way setting (mid-woofer + tweeter) for more highs like the Sony ult field 1 oder Jbl flip 6. if it’s just for podcasts, I wouldnt go bigger than that cause i guess that mostly means just more bass, which might even be contraproductive since it might make it harder to understand vocals / speech.

I really enjoy the Charge 5. It's the first "big" portable speaker I bought for myself, and I started off with one Charge 5 initially and thought it sounded great; clear sound and clean bass for its size. Then I bought another since I wanted to pair them for stereo sound, and was even more impressed with sound quality (even though the EQ is set to flat when in stereo mode and you can't adjust it). I wanted more portability and later bought a Flip 6. The sound is pretty good on the Flip 6 but I prefer the Charge 5 over the Flip 6 for sound. I have since bought a JBL Authentics 200 (not a portable speaker) which is now my go-to when listening to music at home, and only been using the Charge 5 in the shower. I used to bring the Charge 5 with me when going to places but that's been replaced with the Flip 6 since it's a more travel friendly size to me. Like someone else said, I agree the Charge 5 gives you the best bang for the buck for this size speaker, and the battery life is amazing.

There is a difference. Aside from power bank, Charge 5 has a slightly higher waterproof rating. It is louder with better audio quality than the Flip 6. They do share a similar speaker configuration with a mid-range driver and dedicated tweeter plus the dual passive radiators, but the Charge 5’s speakers are slightly larger. In other words these speakers can be very similar, but in my experience my Charge has been much better at delivering clear and audible sound in my backyard than my Flip 6

Lately, I’ve had the chance to check out more than 64 different Bluetooth speakers, so I thought I’d share my insights to help anyone looking for a great speaker for their laptop. Whether for work, music, or calls, here’s what to consider before buying: * **Sound Quality** \- Clear audio with balanced bass and treble. * **Portability** \- Look for a lightweight speaker (10-30 ounces) if you move around. * **Battery Life** \- At least 8-12 hours for all-day use. * **Connectivity** \- Bluetooth 5.0+ ensures a stable connection. * **Durability** \- Waterproof or dustproof if you need it for travel. # Top Bluetooth Speakers for Laptops **1. Bose SoundLink Flex** – Delivers crisp sound with deep bass in a compact size. It’s IP67-rated, meaning waterproof and dustproof, and has 12-hour battery life. Its PositionIQ tech adjusts sound based on orientation, making it versatile for any setup. **2.JBL Flip 6** – Offers a strong 30W output with powerful bass and an IP67 rating. 12-hour battery, PartyBoost pairing for stereo sound, and rugged design make it a great choice for both indoor and outdoor use. **3.Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 4** – Delivers 360° sound, is IP67-rated waterproof and floats, and has a solid 14-hour battery life. Your typical listening level is also an important datapoint since speakers often sound best at a particular volume. I believe 3 of the 4 you mentioned will rapidly cut bass at about 70-80% volume to achieve max dBs. I mean yeah it's loud, but for me unlistenable. My understanding is the Soundlink Flex is good at trying to hang onto its sound signature as volume increases, but as a consequence will not get as loud. Yes it's a tradeoff since there's no free lunch. I purchased several speakers to comparatively listen. Aesthetics were also part of my consideration, so I didn't try any speakers with styling that didn't appeal to me (for example JBL or anything with flashing lights). I also have less than positive feelings towards brands that seem to be regularly tweaking the firmware to "improve" the sound. For me, the Bose Soundlink Flex 2 was my preference. I personally found the Earfun Uboom L to be one of my least favorites. The others I tried were the Tribit Stormbox Pro and Soundcore Motion Plus. What you prefer is completely subjective and no one can tell you what you will like "best". If you're happy with your current JBL, I expect you'll be happy with the Flip 6. Maybe start with that and optionally select 1 or 2 others for comparison. That may reinforce your choice for the Flip 6 or discover one you like even better.

Would perhaps you care to specify the exact specs of the speakers and the amp? I got the Flip 6 recently which is pretty much identical to the Flip 7 sound wise and I was vastly disappointed with its' outdoors capacity. It is a small room/apartment speaker at most. The Charge 5/6 delivers great performance/portability ratio. The Xtreme 3 was a huge letdown outdoors as well, you just expect more from a speaker of that size. I never owned a Boombox but from what I read it is a huge upgrade on the Xtreme. So if size/portability is secondary to you - don't cheap out and get the Boombox. If portability is important go with the Charge 6.

Hi I own a flip 6, 2x charge 5, xtreme 3 and a boom box 2 If you are looking for portability i would go for the flip 6/7. The f6 weighs about 500 grams and sounds good for the size. It's loud enough for outside, but I wouldn't use it for loud music with more people If you just looking for loud music outside and the weight isn't much important i would recommend Going for 2 charge 5's (maybe price dropped because of the release from charge 6)I can guarantee this is peak quality in music and both speakers together weighs about 2kg) xtreme 4 in comparison beats this setup, but Not as much As the boombox 3 would. The boombox 3 is a beast for outside but it weighs also 6700g which is a huge increase of weight. Basswhise the boom box 3 is spectacular. It Can also perform really good till Volume 70-80.

If you want loudness and rugged speaker that you can rough use a lot, go for Ultimate Ears Boom4 or Sony Ult1 or JBL Flip6. Please don’t go for Chinese brands because they don’t last long.

Ask Perplexity... "How do I connect a DDJ FLX4, and a JBL Flip 6 Wireless Speaker, using an iPad. Step by step instructions." That's what I did, then I printed it out. It works. Ya gonna need a USB Hub, and a Power Bank.

I'm telling you... It does! I've done it. I've connected the FLX4 using a power bank, a USB 8 in 1 Hub, JBL Flip Wireless Speaker, using an iPad 10th Generation. The only issue I was having is storing the music on the ipad. I was having problems using an external hard drive. I was using a 320GB laptop hard drive using a SATA cord or something...connects the external laptop hard drive by means of USB port. The power bank I was using is a BEAST FLX4 calls for a certain voltage of power bank, got it for $3 at a yard sale. I did a 90 minutes set, and only one of four lights were dim. It powered the iPad and the FLX4. I just couldn't afford the extra $$$ to have it as standby, backup...and I'm not even a DJ. But I do have a pair of Pioneer DM 50D's

Hello, no brand loyalty here, Ive tried all of them. The JBL is easier to toss around since it fits almost anywhere and the flip 6’s bass is significantly improved! More punchy around low to mids. Charge 5 is the best bang. It punches about the same as the bose soundlink flex (gen 2). BUT its hugeee. Got annoying lugging it around and finding more surface area to put it. I went with the bose flex 2 in the end. More portable and warmer mids to entry highs. Portability was what i was after. The motion 300 didnt cut it for me, it sitting in my closet, it’s my beater whenever i need it. In canada the motion 300 was on sale lowest for $75.99 The Flip 6 is $119.99. The Bose Flex gen 2 is $169.99. The Charge 5 is also $169.99. There is more features with JBL yessss. IMO I’m lazy and out of the box experiences breezier and whoever wants to connect with my speakers wont have to fiddle around on the app to tune it… by the time its tweaked - the party is over.

The only good one on your list is the Boombox 3. Flip 6 is good for its size. The others are trash unless you absolutely love wifi speakers which is the only reason to ever consider a Sonos speaker. Personally the Harmon Kardon Go + Play 3 is the best indoor speaker I've heard and the Onyx 7 that is currently on sale on the HK website comes close to it.

My go-to portable speaker is the Bose Soundlink Flex 2. It can withstand outdoor roughness and outperforms its weight when it comes to sound quality. If the Flip 7 isn’t announced soon, the Flip 6 is another excellent option to consider. It sounds great and can also handle outdoor conditions.

Before getting the Flex Gen 2, I didn’t even think about Bose. But wow, the sound quality is incredible! My old Flip 6 was great, but the Flex 2 is on a whole new level. It’s now my go-to speaker, and for louder outdoor use, I got a Soundlink Max. I’ve always been a JBL fan when it comes to Bluetooth speakers, but now I’m officially team Bose. They’re a bit pricey, but they’re definitely worth it when they go on sale.

It's super portable, can handle splashes, and the bass is killer, which is awesome for parties or just chilling in the park. Then, in the summer of 2024, I picked up the [Sonos Roam 2](https://www.amazon.com/Roam-Portable-Waterproof-Bluetooth-Speaker/dp/B0CY6S748H?crid=2LU5TCWI1CZ3P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.COqkE2_jlq4hYz34EpRRI4hp8rXt6JJ4XzHgPlgTyr53wPgnvj4gyZTi-1j1p1iAHNw34KBLtTHa07Oc-XcSqRz3TIdUBUF5q6-8jVYEmS7hwB-0Ld9DFRVH35_WyAvmTNGJfCcrWtrFtgAx9y8hpRy_lLYM-wp9abxg4jV5ORKidfsdIXAXCJCBN7HBjH0tAGfQ2e_F2b4KNmTmWrIcV4FKC4tCfN76MdN8IXtL6Wc.pQLFXJaWb-gYf8kuwxy1V2gNcYtJqnI9xsdlqtiajl4&dib_tag=se&keywords=sonos%2Broam%2B2&qid=1739935739&sprefix=sonos%2Broam%2B%2Caps%2C451&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=mymy011-20&linkId=5e0a9b5b743aad0b22a3239b36164ba4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) . I was really after a speaker that would play nice with my Sonos system at home but could still be carried around. The Roam has a more even sound, which is perfect for listening indoors. Plus, it tunes itself to the room, which is pretty cool. Feature-wise, the Sonos Roam is a bit smarter with its Wi-Fi and voice control. It lets me stream right from the Sonos app and works with AirPlay 2. The JBL Flip keeps it simple with Bluetooth, but it has PartyBoost, so you can link up with other JBL speakers for a stereo effect. Both are easy to tote around and are rated IP67, so water and dust aren't a problem. The Flip has a bit more juice with a 12-hour battery, while the Roam gives you 10 hours. Basically, if you're all about that bass and need something rugged for the outdoors, the JBL Flip is your go-to. But if you're after a more sophisticated sound and smart features for home, the Sonos Roam is the way to go.

Exactly!! I’ve owned a Flip 6 Martin Garrix edition some months ago and sold it because it didn’t really sound all that special to me, very harsh at higher volumes and was overall a bit nasty (far from bad tho, just really harsh to my ears), after that I bought the Luna for like 20 bucks more and got a significantly better speaker. When I first got my hands on the Xiaomi Sound Outdoor that I gave to my girlfriend I immediately thought of the Flip 6, and how much better it really is against it. Now that I have two black ones that I can put in stereo I can’t think of anything else other that a UBoom L that could beat it purely in terms of price to performance.

I was in a similar situation and I ended up switching from the Micro 2 to a Flip 6 and I love it! **The Flip 6 is actually a pretty small speaker. It’s about half the size and weight of the Motion+ and Uboom L.** Of course it’s bigger and heavier than the Micro 2, but it’s very portable (more that the M+ and UBL) and the sound difference over the M2 is way worth it. The Flip 6 is very close to the UBL in sound quality. I actually think the Flip 6 is a better outdoor speaker for bass and clarity, while the UBL is a better indoor speaker.

I have a Flip 6 and it's meh. Sub-Bass (20-60Hz) basically cuts out and highs are not good and if compensated with EQ it will start to distort even on "medium" volume. Bass (60-250Hz) is ok but it's not in balance with mids or highs.

Most of the main speakers go by this super hero and side kick design. So, you connect the first speaker to your device. You then hit the pairing button on 1st speaker to connect the 2nd. From the Roam that I had, I liked how the midrange and highs sounded, but the bass is very weak if I compare it to my SoundLink Flex or the Flip 6, and it loses bass at higher volumes of 60%, which is more noticeable. The other negative thing is the battery life, in my case it only lasted 6 hours at 50% volume. Here’s my take on the Flip 6 sound quality. I agree that it sounds very clear and the separation is good, BUT it is missing some of the details in the music. When I compared it head to head with the Uboom L, I noticed that I could hear some details in the song on the UBL that were barely noticeable one the F6. While I never compared the 300 to the F6, I did compare the 300 against the UBL and I thought the 300 had slightly more detail. Maybe I’m using the wrong terminology. I just did a quick definition search on “clarity” and the two key parts were **clean** (not muddy or distorted) and **detailed**. Maybe I should be saying the 300 is more detailed than the F6, and the F6 is cleaner. As far as bass, the F6 is punchier maybe and carries over a distance better especially outside, but the 300 is a bit deeper.

From the post you linked, it sounds like either air leakage from the charging port, or a defected unit... Because ever since the charge 4 came out and jbl started using those racetrack drivers, i came to the conclusion that these drivers are pretty beefy and are not pushed to their limits that easily. I saw people taking a flip 6 driver, and connecting it to a boombox 2 by cable, and the driver handled it like a boss. So unless you smell something burnt coming out of the driver, i don't think it's the problem.. LFM is what can kill those drivers and even that didn't quite kill those race track ones.

What you need it for? At least provide some context if you want a small portable good sounding speaker go for the flip 6 if you want a slightly louder speaker with more bass and battery life with a powerbank function go charge 5. Both have IP67 rating and both have great build quality.

price to performance probably charge 6, i have used a flip 6 before and that is quite lacking in terms of power especially outdoors. however the charge 6 is actually useable outdoors and is very good indoors. if you step up to the xtreme 4 you really can’t go wrong with it if you find it at a good price. my experience with the xtreme 4 is overall very good, deeper bass, wayy better instrument and vocal separation thanks to the stereo setup, and nice highs. However the charge 6 does have cleaner highs interestingly. So really it’s up to your budget, whatever you can afford it’s gonna be “worth it”.

I once tested a jbl flip 6 at the mall, i had to ask the sales dude to turn it down cuz it was only at 40 percent and it was already loud

JBL Flip 6. Used daily, gets carried around a lot, dropped now and again, used in bathrooms. Never had a problem, sounds great.

I compared Bose SoundLink, Jbl charge 5, Jbl flip 6, Soundcore Motion X600, Klipsch Nashville and HK luna. I chose Luna from all. The best balanced sound for this price range. I found JBL highs to harsh, bose pretty good but not so open , Klipsch missing any lows, and Soundcore...I liked it but when I listened side by side with Luna...well..I ended up with Luna :)

Idk about the other but JBL just makes a great product. Now if i can only get the fuckera to pair together, ive literally never been able to get that funtion to work, but as a solo speaker my flip 6 and my clip 5 are just really well made and reliable

The Flip 6/7 is decent and has more possibilities in the app. Nice form factor. I personally prefer the Earfun or one of the Soundcore models, but those are a tad bigger than the Flip.

Soundcore Motion+, Earfun Uboom L, Soundcore Motion 300 are great and portable. Flip 6/7 is also cool, and if you want to go a bit larger Charge 6.
