"The Flip7 maintains a connection no matter where I put it in my house with the farthest distance from the host speaker being about 60' and that's through multiple walls as well."

"jbls (samsung, harman Kardon) drivers tuning is very high pitched with sub bass and low mids? Even on the mid woofers it lacks detail and the tweeters have to much presence."

I'm a huge jbl fan boy but this is where I disagree the new flip 7 I belive has 35 or 40 watts and the charge 6 has 45 most bookshelf speakers are 20 to 50 watts per enclosure even with the bookshelves being at the minmum it still can be pushed to its max without compressing unlike the jbls after 70% the jbls dsp kicks in and compresses low to low mid frequencies to help reduce distortion and keep clarity unlike bookshelves where you can push them and push them with keeping the spl of all frequencies somewhat the same and when distortion happens guess what just dial back the gain a bit , pair that with components that are designed to have a flat frequency response and an amp with lets say a 12 band eq or even a 6 band eq and now you have a fully customizable sound stage and eq, now let's argue yes the new jbl gens do have a 12 band eq but not only does jbls amp have a preset eq and dsp but much like the partyboost I bet you when the auracast is active it will turn off custom eqs to keep the fr the same through both enclosures yes you have system eqs on Android and there are apps that let you controll the signals eq but either way the preset dsp will compress and compress the signal the more you mess with the eq unlike vintage equipment or bookshelf speakers in general they not only have flat response drivers but they have an actual enclosure not just for increased fr but spl aswell. You have to think about it too both enclosures are for a completely different purpose. The cheapest hifi system will blow two flip 6s or charge 6s out of the water no doubt maybe not in db but most definitely in quality of sound and low to subsonic fr. Now let's say op were to get two jbl bb3s now you are talking that's something that will contest with most bookshelf speakers or hifi systems, sure you won't have that flat response but the bb3 is pretty wide (in the fr) and has a a 3 way setup that's an effecient setup especially when put into stereo mode now you have two mids two tweeters and a dedicated sub for the left and right channel now that's gonna blow this setup out the water. Jbl definitely does have hifi components but not on their small to mid sized portable speakers like for example idk if anyone else feels like this but jbls (samsung, harman Kardon) drivers tuning is very high pitched with sub bass and low mids? Even on the mid woofers it lacks detail and the tweeters have to much presence.
Flip 6 or 7, put them next to a Charge and you would be confused as to what went wrong with the Charge models. They just lack the bridging ooomf that they should have, the sound does not match the price, size and look. Go flip 6 or 7 you won't be disappointed or UE Boom 3.
I hope you guys have better luck than I did with my flip 7. Only had it for 3 months and it broke last night at work. The piece in the charging port detached and is floating around inside the speaker. Im hoping the warranty will cover it but its the last JBL fir me.
If stereo is not necessary then h/k Luna is a great portable option with great sound quality. Jbl flip 7 is also decent but battery life is pretty mediocre. If stereo is needed Anker soundcore motion 300 is great for its price with decent stereo seperation and volume.
Flip 6 or flip 7. Their really portable and sound just as good as the charges. If you want a powerbank then you should look into the charge 5
No there's practically no difference between the flip 6 and charge 5. Aswell as the flip 6 to the flip 7 and charge 5 to the charge 6 have no difference and nothing major different then the old models. If you don't need a powerbank get a flip 6
Bose soundlink flex 2 has great bass for on the go. Especially for it's size. If you play with the eq in the bose app and put it in the corner. It sounds way bigger that it's size. Earfun Uboom X is also great. Its larger but almost the same price as the bose. The bass on it is fantastic. Devialet Mania is an wonderful sounding speaker. Big bass, great highs, and a big price haha 😉 Jbl flip 7 or charge 6 are great for outdoor usage.
That 30w speaker sounds the same as jbl flip 7, I have both and compared them, xiaomi has even a tiny bit more bass
I'm currently traveling around the world with the Flip 7 and love the damn thing. I can't believe how good this tiny speaker sounds and it's definitely one of the few things I couldn't live without on the road. I tried the UE Wonderboom 4 initially but it sounded like a bigger iphone, with no separation between highs and lows. The Flip 7 gives a more "hifi" experience, for sure, with surprising bass and clear highs. (For context, I'm super into hifi having had at various times, Monitor Audio Platinum 100/Proac Response 1sc/Apogee Stage/Audio Physic/etc., and the Flip 7 is a great compromise between SQ and portability. )
I bought the latest JBL Flip 7 for US$108/ AED 399 in Dubai. Absolutely worth it.
Girlfriend wants a portable speaker for Christmas. I've done some research but just looking for some advice on if the ones I'm thinking of getting are the best value for money in my price range. Her preferences are for it to be small/portable, for example when I showed her different examples she said the size of the JBL Flip 7 is perfect. She mostly wants to use it for playing music/listening to podcasts in our flat, but also for the odd trip abroad for holidays, maybe outside in the park on occasion. She also said a nice to have (but not essential) would be if you could pair it with another speaker in the future, so you could get a surround sound sort of effect. Again this isn't essential but if there are recommendations that do this, that would be great! I can't really speak to bass/eq sort of stuff, she just wants good quality sound out of it. I've read different reviews here and on other sites and I've narrowed it down to these: 1. Bose SoundLink Flex 2. JBL Flip 7 3. Beats Pill I've personally only heard the Flip 7 in person, and it sounded pretty good. I didn't like that it seemed to have a weird aesthetic thing where it vibrated really aggressively from the sides, I'm not sure if she'd be keen on that, but maybe you can turn that off? I'm just looking for advice on if these 3 are much the same or if there's anything about one that makes it a better choice over the other? Also open to other suggestions if people have them. Thanks! Edit: For reference, I originally wanted to get her the JBL Charge 6, but she said it's too big
