At work I have a stereo pair of JBL flip 6
I keep a stereo pair of JBL go4 in my iPad case for travel, to watch movies and YouTube on my iPad and just to have a great compact “portable stereo” with phone anytime anywhere.
I have a single JBL go3 for the shower.
Same, I have 2 versions of JBL speakers and both are fine. A smaller one, I think we have a Go 3 and a Flip 6. JBL also let's you adjust the levels of the speaker which can be nice.
But are you sure it's the speaker and not the device you are playing it from?
I got a pair of these Soundcore Select 4 Go speakers back in December 2024, and I use them once a week or more. Love them! I think I got both for less than $50 while they were on sale.
- I use them at my desk while I work and around the house. For 5 watts, the TWS option is my default and they get plenty loud for my desk and have great sound.
- I don’t get much out of the in app EQ function, but mostly appreciate that it has the option and is effective to shape the sound for what I’m listening to.
- Mostly I like the TWS stereo feature, battery life, and clean sound.
- Mine just get used around the house and go with me for little projects. They take drops without issue. They don’t get much traffic, still have the rubber feet and fabric wrap and the rope loop is still like new. Rubber flaps over the charge port has no issue, buttons respond like new. No complaints about durability.
- Wish: Would like a little light behind the buttons and battery indicator option.
Edit: Adding wish... The Bluetooth needs to auto reconnect when I turn them on like my JBL GO3 and GO4. I get frustrated to reselect them in my iPhone Bluetooth settings each time I need to use them.
Those two are in different tiers. Your better comparing the JBL Flip 6 or 7 vs the Sony. I have the JBL Go 3 which I clip to my tool bag at work. It’s small, light, sounds decent for its size, and it’s cheap so I don’t worry about it getting beat up or destroyed at work. The Sony sounds much better, and is louder. It also is bigger, and more expensive. Because of that id personally use it in different settings where it wouldn’t get destroyed. I have two Bose flex 2’s I use at home in stereo and won’t be taking those to the job site 😁
