"it sounds fucking amazing. ... I was blown away at Best Buy. I thought this was fake somehow like there is no way this thing is producing that bass and that level. ... The speaker is phenomenal. ... At first it was almost too bass heavy; but after an hour or two of playtime it broke in and the mids came alive, without loosing any bass. ... it still sounds fucking incredible."

"the Bose sounds terrific for pretty much every genre I've hit it with, including Bass-heavy EDM."

"The EQ is the biggest upgrade in my opinion, it really fixes the highs and mids especially in the standing position where the old flex lacks crisp."

"The real magic happens when you get 2 to put in stereo though-- the soundstaging then is impressive for a portable speaker."

"supports multi-device pairing ... the Hyperboom is great for multi-device pairing and party settings"

"You can link them up. ... 4 should suffice."

"both the earbuds and case are entirely waterproof. They've been worn in the shower and heavy rain, dropped in puddles, even gone through the washer."

"It took over 5 years for one of the buds to give out and stop charging, and I still happily use the other bud all night every night. ... Absolute beasts"

"and in the shower too and theyre waterproofed really well! ... dropped them in a tub of water by accident and they’re just fine."

"love it for travel. ... there's a reason I continue taking my A1 for travel...it's the better speaker."

"This is a good choice if you’re traveling carry-on only or onebag."

"small size, huge sound. The audio ir crystal clear with plenty of bass for its size"

"The price difference is too much for how little the sound difference is."

"costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is very hard for me to justify any of the higher tier models."

"Its sorta tied with jbl boombox but because of the huge price difference, skullcandy takes the cake! ... huge price difference"

"The ONLY issue I have with Space Travel is low volumn-ish. ... I'm already the lower volumn person yet must crank the bar quite high (70% or perharps more when outside)."

"I have a Bose SoundLink revolve I'm thinking about upgrading to a charge 6 but scare that that might not be as loud"

"only thing I don’t like when it’s at in max volume you can hear in some songs how the volume goes up and down because its to protect the speaker from blowing, it’s not that noticeable But just a bit of a catch there. ... only thing It does is that if a song has too much bass but in max volume you will notice the volume goes up and down. But it’s not as noticeable, still its acceptable to Hear in max volume. ... Yeah I agree, I have noticed that in max volume that in certain songs with too much bass you can hear how the volume goes up and down whenever the bass hits."

Why wouldn't it still be worth it? It's their newest small speaker

Gen 3 B&O is out now but, I'm still rocking the 2nd Gen for potable great sound, and it's good enough for under $140 on Amazon renewed, and I'm using my JBL Partybox Club 120 for my whole home theater setup in my Den connected to my JBL Clip 5, and a JBL Go 4 linked in Auracast and it works well all together!

JBL Go. Newer gens are pretty overpriced imo, older versions were cheaper and sounded great. Buy the clip if you want to hang it but honestly I would just go for the GO.

I avoid click-bait titles, but having spent a lot of time with the newer Clip 5 and Go 4 from JBL, I was honestly shocked by how well the Select 4 Go performs comparatively, given its $29 price point. Build quality falls a little short of JBL, and the multi-speaker pairing isn't quite as extensive, but still - I've tested a fair amount of speakers, and I'd have a hard time recommending something else for a budget-focused buyer looking for something like the Go 4.

I've had most of the lineup from JBL. The Go, Clip, flip, charge, extreme, and boombox. The only one I wasn't really happy with was the clip...it was being sold in a two pack and yet lacked the capability of virtually every JBL speaker which is to be able to link up to other JBLs and play in stereo. They're all good for their size/price. Obviously the Go doesn't thump like the boombox does but it's a fraction of the price and size. I think any of them up through the Charge can be charged with a USB cable then the bigger ones like the extreme/boombox have a proprietary charging cord. They're all at least somewhat water resistant and rugged all the way up to the Boombox and the Extreme being submersible. I remember when I first got the Boombox, being at a pool and my brother asked if I was worried about the speaker being so close to said pool. I said it's supposed to be waterproof and I then proceeded to throw it in the pool. It was totally fine. Battery life on them are all respectable, and at least personally, I haven't had a battery fail yet. The extreme and even more so the Boombox, seem to last forever. More recently I bought a Sony xg500 (Boombox equivalent) when it was on sale. Not a bad speaker, has good mids and highs, but the bass was a little lackluster and overall it couldn't get quite as loud as my 5 year old Boombox. It has an inferior IP rating compared to the Boombox as well. The only thing it really has over the Boombox, that I didn't even realize for a while, and it may or may not be a positive depending on the person, is it has some lighting effects on the side that strobe with music. Overall the Boombox is really the better buy for sure. The only other speakers I've heard that were as good or better were some bose ones, but they didn't have much bass, and the ones I saw didn't seem too rugged. The UE speakers I've heard were fine but not as good as JBLs

Jbl Go is always good. Go5 is even better, Go6 best. Remember, they all sound good. The higher the number the harder the sound. And the higher the price. Soundcore also gets good reviews, but i never tried them.

My Bose revolve plus has been going strong for 9 or 10 years, even after accidentally dropping it and my JBL Go 4 is great for my office

The multiple channels in most higher end speakers will give clear sound, but you are correct that it won’t give a true near field stero experience. I prefer wide proper stereo field everytime over “more bass” At work I use a pair of JBL flip6 as a steroe pair and they sound fantastic. My “travel stereo” is a pair of JBL Go4s. For music or watching a movie on my iPad, these placed on either side of me 20 to 30 inches apart is perfect. The speakers are not much bigger than a deck of cards and easy to transport. Neither of these setups woukd be sufficient for someone looking for signifanct bass, so perpsnal preference and intended use is what matters.
