JBL Partybox 520 would be the best there is that’s battery powered imo and for battery life you can buy multiple battery’s

The party box 520 is a lot better in my opinion, the soundboks is just technically louder, I meant it’s the loudest battery powered speaker other than professional DJ speakers that would weigh a few hundred pounds

Jbl 520 will be the way to go if you don’t mind the size, I mean the swappable batteries are convenient as hell with no downtime really.

I got two PB 520’s. I’m now getting called for every family get together… “can you please bring the music”?!? As loud (and chest thumping) as you would ever need for a backyard party. Even one did very well. I just HAD to get another. Portable… it has an extendable handle and wheels. Wish they had side handles for lifting, but not too bad. You can get covers (I did) that have handles built in. Good luck.

I have [the partybox 520](https://www.reddit.com/user/mohammedBird/comments/1mozjck/portable_party_speaker_with_big_sound_and_long/), and I absolutely love it. I upgraded from the 320, and the sound quality is better, louder, and the battery life is longer. I use it for pretty much everything from outdoor parties/events to movie nights to kareoke.

All depends on where you taking the thing. If you just want a speaker that'll sit in one spot then get a PB Ultimate or 720, of you actually need to move the thing then a PB 520 is a really good sweet spot

The 520 are battery powered i believe makes sense tbh that the bigger ones arent probably impossible to make something that big and powerful portable without needing a power outlet

I already have 2x520 (just bought the second one, open box, for 500) and one 310 from way back. When I heard two speakers playing together I actually thought that 2x310 or 2x320 would be enough for everything. I just wasn't sure if there was a difference between 310 and 320. Now I plan to get another 310 for cheap for indoors. For outdoors it's 520 or 720, definitely, but they are too loud for indoors - 310 just sounds better and tighter.

JBL is really covering the portable party speaker market. Depends on the type of party you are having and how much $ you want to spend for real advice but the big JBL 710 has no battery and the new 520 is getting good reviews and has a replaceable battery. Pair of JBL 120 is what I would use unless this was a real event where you need bust out the 18" subs and 130 db mains. The LG stage 301 and Zealot sS89 are getting good recommendations from Jagist reviews if you want something smaller than a big partybox.

I’ve got 2 PartyBox 120’s, 320’s and now 520’s. They all have loads of bass. Obviously more as you go up in woofer size. So the Ultimate probably has the most right now. I’d probably say the PartyBox 120 is the sweet spot. It outperforms the Boombox 3 considerably but it is still portable and has a replaceable battery.

I double up and recommend two party boxes 520, then OP only has to run two times. So what's the problem? Stereo sound is worth a lot of effort.

What it says on paper is not as important as the sound of the speaker in reality. Sony has never really convinced me with its party speakers, but JBL has. That's why I have high expectations of the Partybox 520. If you had the opportunity to listen to both speakers, that would of course be the best way to make a decision.

I think the partybox 320 is the best bang for buck. It's roughly half the price of the 520 and it weighs 20lbs less. It's portable, gets loud and is reasonably priced. The 520 and 720 are bigger and better options, however at $880 and $1100 respectively, I don't think they're the best value. Price and portability aside, they'd be better options. Getting a pair of speakers will sound better in terms of coverage and allow for stereo output. I run a pair of 310s and my nephew has a pair of 320s. Very happy with both. The 120s are also a good pick in terms of price/output/size. It really depends what your use case and budget is. If we're running a pair of 320s by the fire at night, it bothers the neighbor 100 yards away trying to sleep. I guess I'm saying consider how much output is even appropriate for your situation.

Open box 520 for $500 is a steal. Would love to run a pair of 520s but the retail seemed too steep given what we paid for our 310s and 320s. Having those XLR inputs would be a game changer for connecting my mixer though. Would love to run directly to each speaker with balanced cables instead of daisy chaining with aux cables. My mom thought all the kids needed speakers for their place, so she had me grab 120s for my brother and sisters families for Christmas. Those were $300 last year for black friday and I was very happy with the weight/sound/output. Might be worth considering if using for indoors and what you find for pricing.

The JBL partybox series have zero delay - if you plug into the daisy chain port

r/PioneerDJ • Travel speakers ->
Negative
Reddit Icon
DJGibbon • 5 months ago

Depends on the speaker. Some of the delay is caused by Bluetooth, and some by the DSP (signal processing) - aux will bypass the Bluetooth, but not necessarily the DSP. Some speakers have minimal-to-zero lag on the aux (Minirig, Tribit Stormbox Blast) and some still have significant. For example I believe some of the JBL PartyBoxes have lag on the aux in but not on the daisychain as that bypasses the DSP :)

What Adam says, the smaller JBL series have a passive membrane which serves as the Subwoofer, but its in no way as controllable Like a normal Driver. the ones inwould recommend are from the partybox series, they have sizeable drivers and two tweeters for the high frequencies

The direct modern equivalent would be a larger Bluetooth speaker. These min stereos weren't amazing quality, but they weren't cheap junk either. From what I've seen, the amplifiers and the speaker drivers were built pretty well on those upper-midrange micro stereos. Just like a JBL PartyBox. Meant to get loud, decent bass, but not audiophile quality.

I second going with JBL Partybox if size isn't a factor. I tried other partybox brands in home and out, nothing compared to the bass and clarity.

Singa made a video during Halloween where they featured a JBL: [https://youtube.com/shorts/tHW6meQfqIA](https://youtube.com/shorts/tHW6meQfqIA) They seem to be using the JBL PartyBox with microphones. I have used this myself and you just have to connect the Partybox through Bluetooth to your TV! No need for a mixer. I think Ultimate works in the same way. Then download the karaoke app on your TV or have it through a laptop that you connect with HDMI.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

I am required to always recommend JBL after I had a OnStage that I put through the ringer for 10 years in my garage and it now lives a quiet life as my mother in laws TV speaker. I have a large JBL partybox for my pool and the sound is great, durability, all the above. Every time I have used another bluetooth speaker from a different company I've always been disappointed in some way or another. They are pricey but kind of a buy once, cry once sort of thing.

Soundboks works great. I'm in a traveling baseball team, and every team has speakers. Most of the speakers don't impress me. JBL PartyBox is a good option entry level with good sound quality and budget friendly. Different size options and different budget options as well. Soundboks seems to be the best option out there, but pricing seems a bit steep. You get the loudest DB in battery-powered speakers I can find with the loudest highs and bass. The sound quality is excellent. Bose S1 Pro I'm highly impressed with it. The output and size from such a small package it's really sounds impressive all around, definitely a winner in sound quality. Other than the 3 mentioned, either I haven't discovered another good portable battery-powered speaker option, or they're not impressive enough for me to research and look them up. So, for now, these 3 are my personal recommendations. If anyone has some additional input or recommendations, I'd love to see them. It is always good to know other options in the future.

as others have mentioned, the jbl partybox series is great for this. hard to go wrong with them. but there are good models from sony and bose that offer similar features, too. you'll want to search for things like 'best karaoke speakers' or 'best Bluetooth pa speaker' to get an idea for what's out there.

Most jbl and sony partyboxes can do that, with sony even their boomboxes line ult field 7. You could also look for radios if you want a display and/or remote if you want to play a lot from usb, this is much more convenient to navigate trough songs.

I have a JBL PartyBox.. I forget which model but it was like $500... It will rock my whole neighborhood if I wanted. It's pretty big and heavy, but it has a handle and wheels. I think the charge lasts like 16 hour so I bring it to the drive on beach.. my son's practices.. outdoor parties. Well worth it in my opinion.

I have em. Sound is ok at best. Fine for some background music while working on something the garage/driveway, but almost no bass, and not loud enough for any sort of gathering. For a fraction of the cost, a decent Bluetooth speaker would be MUCH better, and more useful for life in general.

I just don’t see the value in the tailgate speakers. They’re ok at best in my opinion. Not very loud, not much bass, rarely useful, and WAY overpriced at $800. The sub sounds excellent and I use it daily, so I’m very pleased with that purchase. But if I had it to do over again, I’d get something like a portable JBL party box over the tailgate speakers, which is half the price, 5x the sound power and clarity, and portable making it useful in many other situations beyond when I’m within listening distance of my tailgate.

r/gmcsierra • Multi pro tailgate speakers ->

BillyStuart • 12 months ago

As another commenter mentioned, about the only positive is the wow factor when showing off your truck. But any time spent using these will likely lead you to disappointment. I seriously can’t recommend the sub enough though. It’s not overpowering like a sound system from my teenage days, but compliments the existing stereo perfectly with just the right amount of bass, while the custom designed enclosure fits the truck perfectly and still creates a bit of storage space. Get the sub and a party box Bluetooth instead of the multipro and you’ll be pleased all the way around.
