It's simple, since you're willing to take any of them to the park, i assume that size and weight doesn't matter too much, so, it all comes down to the sound and price, and in that regard, the partybox is cheaper and way more powerful. The Boombox 3 has more battery life though, but i doubt you'll drain an entire partybox 120 on just a day of playing, and even then, its battery is replaceable, so you can buy another battery and swap it when the first runs out. Another point to note is that bb3 is waterproof and the partybox is not, but i assume no one is playing basketball on a rainy day.
After months reading this sub I can finally give my opinion. I bought the Partybox 120 and spent the summer vacations with it. Some pool party, some lounge music in the park, some hard partying in the basement. Oh, it delivered! The bass is so full that it fills any outdoor place and if you really want to party it will amaze everyone. At night parties I plugged it into a mixer and a computer via cable, light features on and plug it to the electricity. It is amazing. Never tried or listen to the boombox.
I have one 120 too. And itâs fun and loud.
Partybox all day. Blew every expectation I had. I currently have Partybox 120, but Iâm looking for 320 or 520 Just an absolute monster of a speaker, bass hits hard
The boombox is also really nice, a bit more portable. Loud, clear, ok bass But the partybox is sick, on a different level
You should look into JBL Partybox 120 I have 2. Been the talk of every party Iâve brought them to
Jbl Partybox 120 is very good Kinda big, but itâs easy to carry around Loud, bass boost deep, itâs nice
Get two 120s, put a microphone in each Karaoke was crazy at my Thanksgiving loll
What do you have now? How portable do you want it? How much do you want to spend? Do you have any ideas what you want? I spent a lot of time listening to different Bluetooth speakers in the store. I ended up with the JBL Partybox 120. Really happy with it. Sounds amazing. I do however sometimes wish I went with something slightly more portable like an Xtreme. But the amount of times I'd use it out of the house, I'm overall happy with my choice.
If you're traveling with it that much, I wouldn't do the 320. Seems like it would be a pain in the ass. Two 120s would be great, or even two encore 2s. Those encores sound surprisingly well, and theyre really portable. Oh, and as for the handle on the 120, it's fine. It's sturdy enough to carry around the house or outside, but I wouldn't wanna walk a long distance with it. Too heavy for that.
Are you having a rave where you have the music so loud you can't think? I have a 120 and have had multiple parties with 15+ people. It's more than loud enough. For outdoor movies, two 120s would be great in stereo. That's all you need IMO.
What the heck?! I have used a 120 in a BOWLING ALLEY before and it was plenty loud enough for non-overpowering music! The 320 I now have is WAY more powerful and more than plenty for dozens of people to hear the beats!
My pair of PartyBox 120s are my fav. I also have a pair of JBL flip 6s and pair of UboomXs
I recommend a pair of 120s for wireless stereo versus just one 320. Stereo sound makes a huge difference for outdoor movies. I love my pair of one 120s which produce decent power considering their relatively small size. Perfect for smaller event and easier to transport/store.
JBL tends to be at the top of the heap for sound quality in the size and classes they compete in. Value though is a different story as they also tend to be close to the top of the heap in price. This carries over to most of their products. If you can find them on sale though, thatâs when they start to pull away. Like the Studio 590 towers I have. At regular retail the set wouldâve been $2K+, but on sale I got them for $900 shipped. At the sale price they frankly donât have a competitor. Same for my PartyBox 120. At $400 itâs pretty expensive, on sale I bought it for ~$250 and itâs an insane value at that price.
Gen 3 B&O is out now but, I'm still rocking the 2nd Gen for potable great sound, and it's good enough for under $140 on Amazon renewed, and I'm using my JBL Partybox Club 120 for my whole home theater setup in my Den connected to my JBL Clip 5, and a JBL Go 4 linked in Auracast and it works well all together!
