I've gone thru countless BT speakers, from JBL Extreme 2,3. UE Megaboom, Hyperboom. Soundcore Motion Plus. Sony XB43. All were non keepers and were sold or one that was sub par was given away. Oh yeah, Marshall Kilburn 3 too. I have one now, the Sony ULT 5 its the only speaker that 100% percent sound balanced. Its plenty loud and can bring it with bass, clarity. I don't even use the Ult 1 or 2 features as I find it bass heavy already its in standard sound mode. I clearly as you can tell love it. Edit, well you can't get one for 150, but there are refurbished ones on ebay for 83 shipped.
Had this camo jbl xtreme 3 on my jetski but it quit charging. I had to hold the buttons down and use it in low frequency mode to even hear it while riding on the water. Normal mode you could only hear it til maybe 30mph. LFM you could hear up to about 50mph. I’m not sure of the decibels in lfm but it was quite a bit louder but not as good sounding. I’m not after sound quality as you aren’t going to get good bass or sound good dealing with the wind anyway. I just want the loudest possible speaker (not best sounding) that will fit between the handlebars on the ski. It has a metal bracket it sits on with 2 Velcro straps. I’m thinking of trying the stormbit lava or is there a better suggestion?
I found a JBL extreme 3 for $187 renewed on Amazon, it has an EQ so you can mess around with that to your taste and if it doesn’t turn out good, you can return it https://a.co/d/3uWjFFT
If you're strictly limited to Bluetooth I'd recommend the JBL Xtreme 3 or even the Boom 2 If you don't mind a plug in, the Sonos era 100 is a great option
The X600 sound clarity is great but if we're looking at something similar with better bass the JBL Xtreme 3 and Sony Ult Field 5 are much better Just on Bass the Boom 2 also outperforms this
Thanks for the answers. Read a few reviews and got the JBL Xtreme 3
JBL Flip 4 JBL Xtreme 3 SONY Ult Field 7 The performance overall in each one, has been more than satisfactory.
