SoundsGuys finally touching the XBOOM line is kinda nice because those things usually get ignored unless someone’s blasting one at a cookout. If your pain point is basically “are these things actually good or just loud?” the review pretty much lines up with what most of us already know: * They’re fun, bassy, and built to survive parties, not audiophile testing labs. * Mids/vocals are kinda whatever. * Battery life is decent but not legendary. * And yeah, LG leans hard into the light show + boom vibe. If that’s what you’re after, cool they deliver exactly that energy. If you were hoping for some neutral, studio-monitor-level clarity… yeah, probably not. But at least SoundGuys didn’t sugarcoat it. They basically said what everyone who’s used an XBOOM already knows: it’s a party box first, a speaker second and that’s not a bad thing if that’s the lane you’re in.

It's hard to go wrong with either but I think if all else is equal I personally would go with the Bounce. It looks nice and the extra tweeter can really make a difference depending on what you're listening to.

i'm using xboom too and looked into the stage 301 before. fits your budget and seems perfect for pool parties.

This has not been my experience with the bounce. Did you try out the different eq settings?

lg xboom bounce has really strong bass for its size and is still portable enough to carry around without much hassle.

under 300 the lg xboom grab and bounce are both solid picks. grab is smaller and easier to carry, bounce has longer battery and fuller sound if you don’t mind the extra size.

for indoor use the lg xboom bounce is a solid choice, clear sound with nice bass that works well in a room setup.

in the $200 range the lg xboom bounce is pretty good, clear audio with punchy low end.

been using the lg xboom bounce for a while and it's solid. use it inside for music during the day, then grab it for outdoor stuff on weekends. sound's balanced — clear vocals, decent bass without being muddy. battery easily gets me through 8+ hours. connection's reliable, no weird dropouts. water resistant which is nice

Stay away from the LG bounce. The speaker sounds like it’s missing part of the frequency, very hollow sounding. The bounce also has no bass. The sound link would be the last on my list out of the others listed. If you like bass, and it’s on sale on Amazon. The soundcore boom 2 plus should cover your heavy bass needs. I recommend it because it’s the same price as the x600 or JBL.

Yes! The JBL Charge series doesn’t have Qi charging, but the Sony SRS-XB23 and LG XBOOM models are solid options under $100. For true wireless charging, though, options are pretty limited. You might also check Anker's Soundcore lineup, they sometimes have creative charging solutions.
