Amazing, warm and full bodied sound. This thing is a killer. I have used: Jbl Flip 2,4 / JBL Charge 3,4 / HK Aura Studio 3 / Soundcore Boom 2 / Marshall Stanmore 2, Middleton 1 / Bose Soundlink Max............alongside my Kef HiFi. So believe me when I say that this little guy is the best bang for buck in the quality speaker segment. Everything from bass beats to guitars, it sounds amazing. This little guy has detail in its music, and sounds just as good in low volumes until 80% volume. Beyond that the DSP reduces bass and focuses on the highs, but the bass is still present. You can not go wrong with this, whether be portability, long listening hours or as your only room speaker. etc. Personally, It is my palm sized Hi-Fi even if it is Mono. Get it for 120€ then its a good deal.
The Marshall speakers sound significantly better than the JBLs, and can go for 12+ hours easily. Better bass response than the JBL, plus they look cool as hell, like a little Marshall guitar cabinet. https://www.marshall.com/us/en/speakers/bluetooth/portable
Marshall Middleton first gen. It’s a heavy beast but has the best balance. JBL has the best software but the sound profile is fatiguing. The ULT 3 is boomy compared to the better balanced ULT 1 and excellent ULT 7. Emberton 2 has great vocal clarity but not much bass. Middleton corrects that shortcoming. It’ll work well with what you listen to.
Great point. I take mine a lotta places, dusty places like camping and the beach. It’s been dropped on cement. Spilled stuff on it. Zero issues. And of course they pair with other same era Marshalls like embertons. And that’s the 1… afaik, the 2 ups the rating from Gen 1 —IPX7 ( waterproof not dust-proof) …to Gen2 IP67 both waterproof and dust-proof Also supposedly more base presence and even better sound staging. Also better volume levels and at full volume less distortion and bass drop ( it’s a bit of an issue but I usually don’t have it at full blast) My 1’s sound awesome as they are. Partly due to the fact that there’s actually 4 speakers on every side, afaik that’s quite unique. I lovem and would definitely recommend either them or the 2’s — Battery life jumps from not bad 20 hours to a more decent 30 on the 2’s. Wattage climbs from 20 to 30 watts. It’s pretty intriguing this review. Seems to say that the version 2 loses the stack daisy chain feature in favour of AuralCast which for me is a negative. If true. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K-9rXsUKVQ
Not sure how light you packing, but the Marshall Middleton weighs 3.8 pounds, the Marshall Emberton II weighs 1.5 pounds…both sound amazing to my ears and I love playin em paired.
Amen they are surprisingly heavy to lug 2 of em around. Them there big drivers, battery and big ass-bass ain’t light. Lot of times I just grab the Marshall Middletons. Not as much bass n power but enough…and they’re a fraction of the heft required to pick em up.
Get yourself 2 embertons in stereo. Then later get 2 middletons. The 4 play so well together. More bass presence. The sound coming out of the Middletons is surreal. Even one Middleton by itself. There’s kind of an Aural Aura to them. Almost uncanny. If you’re that perceptive to the Embers, the middles will blow you away amigo. Just my 2 Pennies
The Marshall Middleton line has Aux in and low latency. It’s what I hook my OP-XY up to when I travel.
Dont sleep on that middleton. I got 2 of them to stereo and it sounded rich but compare to its older siblings like tufton, acton or stanmore the middleton is a little digitally processed but besides that since yiu got the money for xtreme then I suggest you get the killburns 2/3.0 and it sounds better than middleton and louder for its size.
