Me too. There's the Klipsch KMC series (the Groove Series are the same thing just newer). the Sony X5 and X7 and Jawbone Big Jambox and Jambox and Jambox Mini. Soundfreaq Soundkick and can't forget the JBL Flip 1 and Charge 1 and Pulse 1. The Pulse 1 is cool as it doesn't even need to change the colors (there is one) and when it's laid on its side it changes the lights to a Landscape position. Mainly all of them sound great. And guess what it's easy to replace the rechargeable batteries except the Pulse 1 (but even then it's not hard just have to disassemble them more.
Depends on the model, I've had most of them since before the XB series came out (Srs-x3 & 55). I also have a bunch of soundcore speakers but only the motion X line as those are the most articulate based on reviews and specs I researched before purchasing. I'm supremely happy and use the soundcores more than Sonys now and this is from someone that's had over 30 different headphone & in ear both wired & Bluetooth.
The best I’ve had is the Sony SRS-X5. But I should also admit I haven’t needed to shop for Bluetooth speakers since I’ve bought it 8+ years ago, so I have no idea really. I do have a UE Roll and a JBL Go and Go 2, but they aren’t comparable. They are in a different class altogether.
ULT1,3 and 5 is the least bad of the srs XB series (but ult lacks descent bass vs jbl, bose and soundcore on default and boosted settings) ULT mode kills horribly the mids and harsh the highs on the ult series. Miss SONY audio pathway from srs x55,x77 and x88 series on 2015 and 2016 in wich were suprisingly very good sounding portable indoor speakers, miss their tune and very well shaped non boosted midbass of that era. At least their new 2025 bookshelf speakers has the sound style I used to, in their 2014 to 2016 line-up. Bluetooth speakers that were impressive for their tune and size on nwe models of other brands are (for me) bose flex gen 2, anker soundcore 300 and Harman kardon Luna. Actually I use a ruark r2 mk4 audio compact systems that makes me feel like I hear those old sony hi res systems of 10 years age but with new connections and functions.
