Honestly not as bad as everybody makes it out be. It does the job but it’s also sounds muffled imo, like you stuck it under a bed sheet… assuming that’s on the account of tiny passages for the sound to come through Bass is pretty solid but clarity is lacking and it doesn’t get super loud but I don’t need it to. I actually love the little thing and use it in the shower or when I’m out. Is it a great speaker? No is it a good one? Yeah

The XE300 is a horribly muffled and hollow sounding speaker. None of those are even close to the Motion Boom

LOL! Yeah man, you're such a Bose FanBoi! I've got the GP+3, and think it's insanely great. Picked it up on sale for around $150. I'm entirely impressed by this speaker, especially at that price point. I have the Sony XG300s (paired), and think they sound vastly better than the XE300, which I had for a couple of days before returning it. My "shower speaker" is a Bose Portable Smart Speaker (*yeah, I'm the real FanBoi here*) that's on a shelf out of the direct shower spray. It sounds superb, even though I had to minus-out a bit of bass because it is OOB pretty bass-forward.

I habe 2 xb33 and ahve listentend to XE200/300 also. The xe200 is just meh. The xb33 has a quite warm and natural sound, it never gets harsh and always sound nicely mellow and rich (also voice come over great), but highs are underrepresented so it not as crisp and open and detailed sounding. The XE300 is a bit too large for what it is, is slightly deepe rin bass, but doesnt soundans nice and natural. both the xe300 and xb33 are very durable and have good battery life. The motion plus is more crisp and detailed than the Sony models, but it can get harsh on higher volumes. The sonys work better in stereo or party pairing mode. All speakers mentioned are older models so I guess you are looking fur 2nd hand or refurbished models?
