I only have the GP3 in HK speakers and it sounds great. I heard the Onyx sound great at lower levels decent bass if it’s at lower volume especially the 9. I only have the Ult Field 1 and its bass is decent for its size I’ve heard it has a deeper bass than the JBL charge 5.

Sony ult field 1. Sounds good for music or movies. Simple, light and strap to carry it. Probably get it around 80-100$

Get Ult field 1, good sound quality for the price. Insane value.

What do you mean with portability? Able to transport it with a car? Able to place it with other stuff in a bagpack? Able to carry it on a cart like a fridge? Also depends on where you’d use it and how you’d use it. Obviously, those portable ones (to just fit with your stuff in the backpack), you won’t get dance floor thundering bass and rather a good background sound for a gathering with a few friends. If it’s for the backpack style (cause that’s what I’d consider portable) I wouldn’t go bigger than Jbl charge 6 size. Different brands have different signature sounds. I really like jbls, and the newer Sonys. Pretty much any soundcore speaker and Tribit and so on that I had in my hand, I wanted to tune them over their equalizer cause I didn’t like there profiles (I remember them as muffled) Sony field 1 is a great portable and sounds good. Same for flip 7 and charge 6. also worth looking at features other than sound and robustness. Soundcore motion 300 also one I remember with a really nice sound. From what I heard, if you go for a Jbl charge size speaker, looking at the difference to the next bigger one like Jbl xtreme or soundcore boom size, I would say the sound difference can be named almost irrelevant. There is more bass, yes, but not enough worth mentioning to me. So I’d say go either flip / charge size for spontaneously taking to shower and back, outdoors in your backpack, or Jbl boombox size if it has to be taken sometimes by car and needs a big bass for a lil dance round.

Well the flip 7 gotta be a good choice anyhow. If you like it over the 6 depends on your usecases. I’d go for the 7 cause it’s a newer model and cause the wired audio connection may be useful and makes the speaker more versatile. Also sound wise. I wouldn’t go for the wonderboom, I consider the form-factor not as portable cause of the ball shape, wouldn’t be as easy to take it in a backpack to me. Also I didn’t have the 4 in my hands, but I found the wonderboom 2 and 3 underwhelming in regards of bass. You might like the Sony ult field 1, can be bought pretty cheap sometimes and sounds great (I like it way more than flip 6), doesn’t have audio output port like flip 7 though.

The JBL Flip 7 and Sony ULT Field 1 both sell for less than $130, are water-resistant, and feature chunky rubber bumpers around their passive radiators to help with accidental drops. Bose says the SoundLink Flex is also rated as "drop proof", but it doesn't quite have the same amount of physical protection as the other two.

All I can tell you is ULT Field 1 is not a good speaker in my experience

The JBL Clip 4 has a long battery life, for personal use (backpack, room, office) is surprising. The sonu ult field 1, withstands impact, good material and listening very well, a little larger than the clip 4 but it can be transported, I can recommend those to you since I have both and I assure you that they have good quality materials. I've had the clip for 5 years and it sounds the same as the first day of purchase.
