Sony - ULT Field 7

It's harsh as it's not intended to be sitting right next to you.Try using your 65 inch tv while sitting a meter away or even closer,let me know how it goes.People nowadays lack common sense ...Unless you are drunk, I can't see a logical reason to bump up the speaker inside a room.It's not meant for such use,it's a huge a$$ speaker....Try bumping a jbl bb3 inside a room for more than 10 minutes,I bet you would get a different ''metalic'' harsh noises out of it ,more like out of your eardrums.

I had the BB3 and Ult 7. I returned the BB3. The BB3 had very slight deeper bass but the Ult 7 got quite a bit louder and has a way more balanced sound signature. Ult 7 looks cooler design wise, the handle on the BB3 is metal which sounds good until that mofo is outside at the pool and you pick it up, you need an oven mit. I also like the Ult 7 because it has a 1/4in input so I can play my bass or guitar on it away from my permanent set up. Also if you place it vertically, it is ridiculous bass.

You can get a Sony refurb Ult 7 off ebay, comes with a 2 year warranty for $300. I bought two of them and they are absolutely nuts.

I just bout a Sony ULT Field 7 that I love. I got it at TJ Max for $200. Great buy for such a good speaker plus it has bass boost🤣🤣🤣

Totally agree with point B). I've returned it because of the metalic and sharp sound. It's ok for hiphop, trap, disco, clubbing music outdoors but rock, classical, pop it's pretty bad IMO. I've compared it with Audioengine A5+ active speakers and even though they are, let's say mid-range and roughly the same price, they sound much better, they simply please the ears, sound is smooth in any genre, with a woofer they are uncomparable. I wanted it for the wireless function, portability (let's say) and the fact that people were praising it. I will get two Bose Soundlink revolve 2s instead as I listen more indoors and I want decent quality at this price range (but also portability).

I have had the boombox 3 in the past and i was hoping this would be the upgrade. The karaoke feature is super nice since I do a lot of singing. Works well with a mic The bass feels artificial when compared to the boombox. Overall the sound is a bit cannier when compared to the Boombox comparable to the soundcores… I’m really hoping this speaker grows on me and i love it in the long run since i cannot return it anymore. Maybe its just that its lacking the wow factor right out of the box like the JBL had

Bose Soundlink Max has good bass. Or look for Sony Ultfield 7 on discounts. Or go for Sony XG-500 or its XG-300. They are good with bass and these speakers sound more open and detailed. JBL signature sound is too much narrow and doesn’t have details like other brands tho it has bass. And JBL equaliser is a hassle to use.

It's overall a great speaker imo. It gets hate here because it's not as bassy as its JBL counterpart. It's also really nice being able to put it safely in a corner and save space. Otherwise it still has advantages over the JBL: it's rustproof (can safely take it to the beach), it can go vertical which saves space, way more features as Karaoke as you mentioned and if you connect it to a Tablet or a TV it actually has ***EXCEPTIONAL BIS*** latency. The JBL's latency is disgusting (220ms+). JBL beats it in terms of bass and, unfortunately, battery life. JBL is ***VERY VERY*** good at battery life. Even at high volumes. Oh the Sony App is also kind of bad if we're going to be honest. JBL Boombox 3 is the best portable IP67 Boombox in the industry. Period. You're not going to find better right now.

Personally I like the Ult Field 7 the best followed by the Boombox 3. I don't care for the other two. Ignore the Uboom X advise unless you like a flat sound and the look and feel of cheap plastic.

At medium volumes, while playing music in my room, the speaker produces a vibrating sound whenever there’s a bass-heavy section or a sudden increase in volume. The sound seems to cause an uncomfortable vibration in my ears, almost like pressure. Are you also experiencing the same issue or should I get my unit checked? Surface is not an issue. At higher volume, vibration is not noticeable, it only becomes noticeable at medium volumes

Sony ult field 7 is pretty great If you are wanting loud clearer audio. If you want bass then yes boombox 3 is worth the money.

At that price the best can be anything, do you care about size? Bose flex max if not Sony ult 7 Or a big jbl with wheels up to you

Hyperboom has a wider spread sound, so is best for bbq (unless its rainy) Sony ult 7 has best bass and is flexible in the way you put it and you get better stereo separation for intense listening or and its better as a tv speaker

Ult field 1 user here...I got fed up with the ult mode on and inspite of less bass settled myself with ult as off....any custom equalizer settings for a balanced sound?

The only comment I can make about the EQ is that you can't get rid of the veiled mids. Yes it's loud and bassy, but the clarity is lacking. I returned mine because of it. For clarity, I recommend the higher rated Klipsch Nashville or Marshall Emberton 2 or 3.
