You can swap the batteries tho
I would consider the Soundboks 4, it has a pretty good (swappable) battery and it gets really loud. It might not have the same amount of bass as a partybox 1000 has, but that one requires a generator. So the Soundboks is easier to set up, just power on and go. The new Teufel Rockster Neo might be an option as well, kinda similar. If you want something more professional, the Electro-Voice Everse 12 is an option too.
Soundboks 4 in stereo probably
At this size, I don’t think you can do better than a Soundboks You can throw a whole party on a river with a single soundboks https://soundboks.com/products/soundboks-4 I don’t think you would want to take the Sony outside
Avoid the smaller turtlebox, go for the grande. It’s my current go to boat/outdoor speaker. I’ve had multiple JBL boombox/party box’s and both the soundboks 4 and Go(loved both) but the turlebox grande fits the loud and portable niche well.
Turtle box Grande. I have had the JBL party boxes, boombox3, wking, soundboks 4, SB Go, and no the turtlebox. The go was the best sounding in that environment, but lacked being waterproof and salt spray long term was going to be an issue. The grande is 90% of the go’s sound while having better battery and a smaller footprint. There ARE other speakers that sound better, you’re not going for that, you want loud and tuned to cut through wind. Turtlebox is very gimmicky/lifestyle as a brand and the OG turtlebox sounds terrible, but they dis make a good product with the Grande.
Everse is 31 lbs and can produce 126db. It is a PA speaker that is designed to project vocals. The Klipsch is a 56 lb.bass heavy party speaker, (only 110db max but more bass than PA style speaker) JBL Partybox 520 is 56lbs and can do 111db on battery and 115db plugged in to 120v. (Good bass output). If you want a portable and loud with a long battery life the Soundboks gen 4 is 35 lbs and can put out 125db. If you do not need high bass output I would look at the Macke Thrash go 212. Less expensive than the EV and almost as loud, 36lbs/ 125db.
Check out the new soundboks mix. A whole lot better sound than the old go and even the 4, because of the new tweeter. Wont get as loud as a 4, but much nicer sound and more portable size. Its size/weight is like a jbl 120, but it gets louder, is more durable/waterproof and better battery life.
