I own both speakers. UBoom X has more deep bass and I usually prefer it for indoor listening. However, once you bump up the volume, the sound quickly starts to feel compressed and muddy. The effect can be lessened by using Oluv's presets or his custom firmware, though it still feels a bit lacking in some areas. Boom 2 Plus is definitely louder and holds up well at higher volumes, therefore I prefer it for outdoor/party listening. It has less deep bass and more mid-/upper bass. I also get more playtime per charge out of the Boom 2 Plus. For me, one speaker does not replace the other and both get used often.

Don't quote me on that though, as I have not measured the actual runtime and I might be completely mistaken. I get about a 5-6 workdays worth of listening out of both of them. UBoom X usually at ~30% volume and the Boom 2 Plus at ~20% volume — their perceived volume levels matching. Edit: Would you mind sharing your EQ?

Soundcore boom 2 will not disappoint. I do own one and it’s got bass it’s loud it’s something you can pump your fist too. But right now you can get the skull candy barrel XT for 80 at Walmart. I own one of them too and for 80 dollars you can’t beat it. If you wait to long it may go back to 170 dollars and for that price it’s a no go in my book. If you miss out on the XT get the boom2 but do not buy a boom 2 at Walmart it looks the same but its internals are completely different. In other words it sucks.

Stay away from the LG bounce. The speaker sounds like it’s missing part of the frequency, very hollow sounding. The bounce also has no bass. The sound link would be the last on my list out of the others listed. If you like bass, and it’s on sale on Amazon. The soundcore boom 2 plus should cover your heavy bass needs. I recommend it because it’s the same price as the x600 or JBL.

I got Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, and when connecting with aux cable the delay is very small. I mix in headphones anyway, and the delay on Boom is barely noticable and totally playable. Sound quality is not top notch but i find it good for the money :). Costs a fraction of minirigs. I can recommend it for sure. Edit. Not sure if it matters but conneted with FLX10 is working good. Not tried other controllers though.

That is a decent option for the price. Another option to look for on the used market are PA speakers from Mackie or Behringer. They come in active and passive variants. This is an example of what I'm talking about: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/B212XL--behringer-eurolive-b212xl-800w-12-inch-passive-speaker https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/B112D--behringer-eurolive-b112d-1000w-12-inch-powered-speaker At least in my area, I've seen the Behringer passive speakers sell on the used market for ~$100 per speaker. They are weather sealed, very high efficiency, and will have no problem getting earsplittingly loud off of the Fosi amp. Finally, I'm sure some people will give me crap for this, but for temporary outdoor setups, I would frankly recommend that most normal people just use Bluetooth speakers these days. They've just gotten so much cheaper and better than they used to be. And if you just want something that can be set up and taken down quickly and easily, they'll get the job done. Not needing to deal with running power and audio cables to various points out in the yard. A pair of Anker Soundcore Boom 2 can get very loud and can be paired together wirelessly be play in real stereo. Not just dual mono. https://www.amazon.com/Soundcore-Waterproof-Portable-Bluetooth-Backyard/dp/B0CZ7DY692/

Turtlebox is equivalent to poopbox. Any decent outdoor speaker from a decend brand has a better look, better build quality, better features and better sound. Jbl boombox 3, tribit stormbox blast or blast 2, soundcore boom 2 plus, wking x20, are simply levels above this weird boat speaker with a car driver

I know that this kind of comparison was made several times before, but i wanted to share another point of view which may differ from others. I've been using each of the speakers on different occasions, different places and conditions, tuning each of them differently to see how they perform,And i have my conclusion. Considering that all three of them are direct competitors from the same size category, this time i will ignore their price difference, because i want to compare them based on the product itself, and not their value for money even tho i find importance in that as well for some people. All three of them are so different, and good on their own ways, but i can definitely divide them by places and which one i would keep if i had to get rid of two. I will rate each one by categories that i find important for portable audio: Portability: --[Bose] - a bit heavy, handle is useful, the shape is very practical to put in the back pack (8.5/10) --[Soundcore] - surprisingly lightweight, has a handle, but takes more space than the bose and is slightly larger (7.5/10) --[JBL] - heavier than the bose, doesn't have handles (optional to order handles from aliexpress online, but doesn't come included in the box) very bulky and large compared to the other two, comes with a strap unlike the other two. (6.5/10) Battery life: --[Bose] - solid, but can drain pretty fast at very high volumes (down to 3-4 hours at 100%), battery can drain when the speaker is out of use for weeks, happened to me. (6.5/10) --[Soundcore] - no complaints at all about battery life, lives up to the expectations (8/10) --[JBL] - neck and neck with the soundcore, i would even say slightly better. The battery replacment feature is one of the best decisions jbl has ever made, futureproofing the life span of the speaker. (9/10) Build quality: --[Bose]- in my opinion the most premium feeling out of all three. Does attract dust, especially the black color. Metal front grill, can be scratched but only if directly. Solid rubber material, rounded corners, passive radiators are hidden inside two side grills (great protection) handle is nicely made, very convenient. Looks very solid. (9.5/10) --[Soundcore]- the cheapest looking of all, plasticy but well constructed. Not sure if durable enough to handle falls. Passive radiators are open and feel kinda cheap as well. Still better built than many other plasticy speakers. (6.5/10) -[JBL]- second place after the bose. Fabric covered body with four rubber bumpers on every side, metal clips are peeking over the speaker. Solid overall build. (8/10) Features: --[Bose]- solid app control, not bugged, 3 band eq, an option to customize previous users and deleting them from the device (a big win) No lights, APTX adaptive support (i use it with AAC) wattage is unknown. Can be connected to another soundlink max or a flex gen 2. A known audio sync problem with the flex 2. Can charge devices.(7/10) --[Soundcore]- exceptional app, connects the fastest and has 0 bugs. 9 band eq. Lights on the passive radiators (not enough customization on the lights sadly) Can only connect to another boom 2 but not other models. 80 watts max claimed.Has a bass button (which i find useless considering the balanced eq).can charge devices. (7.5/10) --[JBL]- app is decent, takes a bit time to connect to, 5 band eq available, has partyboost and auracast capabilities, can connect with many jbl models. Can charge devices. Replacable battery++. 100 watts claimed. (8.5/10) Sound performance: --[Bose]- two woofers that face to the sides and one middle tweeter for better on axis treble. unique sound signature, very uppermid forward, soft sound, can definitely present some details in the mids that the other speakers can't, has stereo proccessing. Bass is not as deep as the other two, but has a significant impact (so i use less bass on the eq) 3 band eq with a significant impact on the sound. Still not perfect on certain tracks, can have a bit too much echo sometimes. It gets pretty loud but can have distortion at high volumes with heavy bass music (8.5/10) --[Soundcore] - one large woofer and two side tweeters. Out of the box, needs tuning. Very mid forward, vocals are very enhanced, can sometimes sound a bit plasticy and artificial. Impressive low end impact, highs can be quite screechy if the treble bands on eq are too high. 9 band eq, must be used to optimize it's sound. With a good eq, a worthy competitor on the table. Gets plenty loud. (7/10) --[JBL] - classic jbl sound, 2 woofers and 2 tweeters, stereo sound.sounds pretty solid overall, might be missing some detail in the highs and mids, not too sharp on the detail. The only one that might have some sizzling and artifacts on the treble. Bass is the deepest of all three, but a large chunk of it gets lost at high volumes. Gets pretty loud, i would say somewhere around the loudness of the soundcore. 5 band eq on the app (7.5/10) Conclusion- 1st place: bose (8.0) 2nd place: JBL (7.9) 3rd place : Soundcore (7.3) people might have mixed opinions and think differently. Each of those speakers is still unique and had pluses and minuses over the others. Hope this comparison helped some of you with picking your next speaker!!

Soundcore boom 2 plus specially when it’s on sale, not so backpack friendly but comes with handy strap. Sound for 💰its one of the best out there right now. That followed by JBL xtreme 4 then I’d say Bose Soundlink max (but too pricey) I have tried them all and kept my xtreme 4’s due to auracast but the boom 2 plus hits hard on the bass and the eq is also adjustable. ULT5 is loud but lacks bass

I recommend the EarFun UBOOM X. The Boom 2 Plus may appear to be more powerful on paper, but in real life I would see slight advantages for the UBOOM X. It is also usually available at a better price. I've been using the UBOOM X for several months now and I'm absolutely delighted with it. I've already had the opportunity to compare it once with the Boom 2 Plus. For me, the UBOOM X is the better choice.

Interesting, thanks for your insights. I only had a brief opportunity to compare the UBOOM X with the Boom 2 Plus. I must admit that I practically never use the speaker at full volume. But of course I tried it out a little. With my own EQ, there is no distortion even at maximum volume. However, then it's not so extremely loud. I don't use Oluv's DSP programs because they all tend to sound a bit muffled in the midrange and, in most variants, have very sharp, hissing, unpleasant highs.

One thing I find remarkable, however, is that the Boom 2 Plus has a slightly lower battery capacity than the UBOOM X (54.8 Wh compared to 60.4 Wh) and yet offers a longer runtime. This can only mean that it delivers less power. So much to the topic of 140 watts versus 80 watts.

Inflated wattage figures have been used for marketing purposes for decades. Don't fall for it. There are several sound comparisons on YouTube: [https://youtu.be/twlnXn2Xdlw](https://youtu.be/twlnXn2Xdlw) [https://youtu.be/5qiTxfQ0nnI](https://youtu.be/5qiTxfQ0nnI) The UBOOM X outperforms the Boom 2 Plus in terms of overall sound quality as well as bass performance and bass depth. However, the differences are not that huge.

The Boom 2 is a class below the other two. If a more compact form is important to you, you could make the compromise. In terms of sound and performance, the UBOOM X and the Boom 2 Plus offer significantly more. Both are competing products. The Boom 2 Plus seems to be more powerful on paper, but in real life I would see slight advantages for the UBOOM X. It's also a little cheaper and has a simpler, more classic design that doesn't look as toy-like as the Boom 2 Plus. That seems to me to be a better fit in a professional context.

Earfun Uboom L does. And it's a badass little speaker. And two of them in stereo is pretty impressive. Plenty of volume, great highs and mids and more than enough bass to get the job done well. They aren't bass monsters but they don't lack it either. I have a few sets of speakers and they are well loved, especially for he price. My Soundcore Boom 2 isy favorite right now, but only because of it's loud clear bass. Uboom L are very good speakers. They are super clear at low to medium volume, but they still hold it together at max volume. They don't distort and still sound good.

I do think the boom 1 and 2 are really special for their size, with the right eq and song it still blows my mind, but I'm glad that the bigger ones are in fact putting out real work. I havnt paired 2 boons myself actually, it was just random advice since he wants more bass for $150, and I think he already has one of them. It does sound like he'd be better off saving a little more money and shopping out larger models at the $180-$250 range, cus idk what will make him much happier than the boom 2 for $150 rn (that's really worth the difference over Boom 2 I mean)

If you own the boom 2, try getting another boom 2 and pair it? I think that if you own a working boom 2 right now, then that's the most bass you will get with $150 possible (2 paired together) Also make absolutely sure you're trying out different custom EQs. My boom and boom 2 sounded LIFELESS before EQing

Just got one from costco today, and as someone who DIY small speakers I'm 100% certain that either you got a dud or you're hearing it wrong. The only problem for me is the stock soundcore signature profile makes treble sound weird, turning that off (going to custom eq and leave it flat) alleviate this issue. There's a decent amount of mid, though stereo separation for it is absent (cause of course the singular racetrack driver is in charge of bass to mid).

I don't know why I put off buying this speaker for so long. I've always been eying it but never did cuz of the speakers I currently own or owned. Few month ago got a jbl extreme 4 for an insane deal at target. Was likeqm 127 after taxes . Needless to say my brother came to visit he brought his wking d9 that's like 5 yrs old amd it honestly to me sounded better once we ran em up to 70 percent volume and higher. That extreme 4 sounds outta this world up to 60 percent volume but then how it would lose its bass and get shouty drove me crazy so I sold it. Recently I bought a zealot s89 and I got a bad one cuz all kinds of shit was wrong with it right out of the box . So this weekend I stopped in Costco and they had this for 79.99 and I grabbed it. Fast fwd two days now and I absolutely love this speaker . I truly think it sounds better than the extreme 4 and def holds it's sound better when ya crank it. My brother with the d9 agreed and asked me to get him one... shitty thing is is I went back yesterday I was gonna buy one for him and a 2nd for me for tws but they went back up to 99.99 which even at that price is a steal but I always gotta get the best deal. Anywho this speaker will Def find a home in my rotation between the 2 tronsmart mirtune h1s my 2 wking d320s my 2 jbl partybox 110s and my 1 tazata boomblast mini. But this speaker is truly awesome great bass beautiful mids and highs , its i nsanely light just a killer speaker for under 100 bucks!!

Yup! Download the soundcore app on your phone and you can customize the light settings as well as the EQ and a few other things as well! Changing the EQ makes the speaker sound amazing! It’s fantastic out of the box, but EQ’d it’s on another level for the price. I’ll link my custom eq settings below, you can check it out when you get your Boom 2 if you’d like. It really pushes the sound outside of the speaker and makes it sound much so much fuller than you’d expect from a small speaker. https://dl-soundcore.soundcore.com/qcdl?flow=soundcore&tk=lIxWkG1q&pn=A3138&rg=GW To use, copy the link and open the speaker homepage on the soundcore app.

Hard to beat the Brane X for bass! The JBL Boombox 3 also pushes plenty of low-end. Otherwise, some budget-friendly options with a good amount of bass are the Tribit StromBox Blast or Lava, and the Soundcore Boom 2 or Boom 2 Pro, depending on how big or small you want your speaker to be.

It really depends on what you need. The JBL Charge 6 is a smaller speaker with great sound and a premium, ultra durable build. The Soundcore Boom 2 doesn't quite match that build quality, but it gets louder, hits harder with more bass, and packs in more features. If raw performance or value is your priority, the Boom 2 wins. But if you don't need 80W of power or care about the LED light show, and just want something more backpack friendly or nicer looking, then the Charge 6 is the way to go.

I lost my original Motion Boom and it was a stellar speaker. You could have it in your bedroom at very low volumes and still get good sound. I hear from alan ross the most recent ones are handicapped by worse components, but... \*beware\* the Boom 2. I made the mistake of buying it and it's just unsuitable for bedroom listening. It's like the amplifier is always running at full tilt even at low volumes, and it has a very noticeable hiss/whine. To add insult to injury it's not constant, it keeps turning itself on and off so you can't just ignore it. It might just be the component lottery, I don't know. So two "original" booms, even with the cost-cutting, \*might\* still be a good buy. You just couldn't beat them for portability, I could stick two in my backpack and still have room for all my stuff, or take just one and forget that I was carrying it until I needed to charge my phone. I miss it. That said... the Stormbox blast weighs a ton but it has an aux input, so it can be used for actually playing music, not just consuming it. It's too heavy for me to lug around, but it's a good all-round package. I'm still waiting for a good compromise: basically an original Motion Boom with an aux in.

Any opinions on the Soundcore Boom 2 vs Boom 3i? I'm considering one Boom 3i's or two 3i's. Alternatively a single boom 2. I don't like the bulk of the boom 2. Prime day has deals on both the Boom 3i and Boom 2. I may purchase both and see how I feel. I'm trying to get something with good throw (boom 2 or Rave Neo 2), or alternatively something I can take out in the water (3i). I have two Soundcore Motion+ that I occasionally pair in TWS when traveling and at the beach. In TWS at they beach they can only be placed a few feet apart. Bluetooth works fine, but the TWS range on those outside isn't good. Maybe it's because they are an earlier release of that model. That spacing issue has become less important.

I got two 3i's and a boom 2 to try against each other. I agree with the portability of the 3i vs boom 2. The boom 2 is stereo, but the 3i is mono. The TWS paring between the 3i's is way better than my first gen motion +'s. The boom 2 does have some rich bass but the 3i's bass seems to drop out less when the volume is increased. More testing and EQ adjusting to be done before I'm sure about that. I'll likely send back the boom 2 as well. I appreciate the comments.

After a lot of deliberation and online comparison videos, I’ve decided to start with the soundcore boom 2. Online the bass sounds richer than the comparable jbl boom unit and others, with half the weight and half the price. In listening to the online comparisons, the jbl and a couple others seem to outperform the sound quality at higher volumes and also in the mid tones, but the biggest thing im using this for is portable unit for audio lessons and audio books and freedom from ear buds/headphones with the ability to understand the lessons/books/podcasts over outdoor noises and similar. I will probably listen to music as well but hopefully can sufficiently compensate the differences in the eq portion of the app. If it doesn’t acceptably perform during in person testing, then I’ll return it and rethink my decision.

Somehow I can't reply to replies. But to the other two replies regarding my initial comment: I don't plan on using two UBoom X, so unfortunately I can't answer that question for you, as I haven't tested it. All I know is that the stuttering issues when using Oluvs EQs, which are the main reason to buy it, are a known issue with the X. There are official answers from Earfun regarding this.  Two Soundcore Boom 2 should outperform one Uboom X. They can sometimes be bought from the Anker outlet for ~65$ so you wouldn't be much more expensive than one Uboom X. Two UBoom X using a decent own EQ sound amazing, but are more expensive than two Boom 2. Tldr: as a single speaker, the Uboom X is amazing, but two Boom 2 should outperform it. I have tested roughly 20 speakers in the past few weeks and the UBoom X is by far the best single speaker I have encountered. No, I am not paid by them and I am also not using thorough testing methods like Alan Ross. It's all up to personal preference. If you follow my comments, I hope you noticed that I always try to adapt my recommendations to the individual use case. But if you haven't heard it yet, I would suggest trying the UBoom X in Oluvs EQ yourself and let me know if you like it :)

Interesting perspective. I’ve got two of these myself, and my main takeaway is that the volume just doesn’t live up to the 80-watt hype. I’ve been carrying a Harman Kardon Onyx 4 for the past four years while rollerblading, and that one puts out 30 watts on battery—or about 60 when plugged in. So when I saw the Boom 2 advertised as 80 watts, I was really excited. In practice, it’s about as loud as the Harman Kardon, maybe slightly more compact and easier to carry—but definitely not twice the output. That was disappointing. To their credit, the company worked with me and made things right, which I appreciated. But I still think the wattage claims are exaggerated. None of these companies seem to advertise real-world wattage or RMS specs accurately. For reference, I also own the Fender Teyfel Rockster Air 2, which is a 30-pound beast and also labeled as 80 watts—but that one actually lists RMS, and it feels like it peaks well over 100 watts, possibly closer to 150. That said, for a waterproof speaker with decent battery life, the Boom 2 is solid. It fits better in a backpack than my old one, and I ended up getting a second unit. If I need more power, I just pair them together.

I agree with the other replies that two speakers are better than one. It depends on how big you are willing to carry around. My favorite that I've settled on is the Soundcore Boom 2. Although it is slightly larger than my idea size for a portable speaker, the handle makes it easy to move around. In my opinion it is just about the perfect balance of size, clarity, and bass for a portable speaker. It has great sound and great bass (even outside). It just won't fit in a small spot. For a smaller speaker, I would recommend the Earfun Uboom L or the Soundcore Motion 300 or the Bose Soundlink Flex. Again, a pair of these in stereo will get the best most room filling sound. All of these are small and easy to carry and easy to place anywhere. If you just want one speaker, I would recommend the Tribit Stormbox Blast or the Earfun Uboom X. They both sound great, with full sound, clarity, and deep bass. But they are huge! Probably not easily carried from room to room, but that that is your decision to make. The Soundcore Boom 2 would be good as a single speaker too, with a smaller size, but it won't sound quite as good as these other two.

I've been using the Earfun Uboom L for a long while now for ALL of my bluetooth speaker needs (work desk, on the deck, around the fire, camping, in the garage, etc.). I really love the speaker, especially when paired with another in TWS. However, **I have been looking for something with a little more bass and fullness, especially when outdoors. I really value clarity, fullness, bass, and neutrality, in that order.** After some research on this subreddit, **I decided to try the Soundcore Boom 2**. I saw a video on youtube comparing the Boom 2 to the Boom 2 SE (Walmart's version of the Boom 2). **For those of you that don't know, the Boom 2 SE has two 2.76" full range drivers, where the regular Boom 2 has one 3.54" x 4.72" racetrack woofer and two .79" tweeters.** In the video, both speakers sounded good, with the Boom 2 having more bass, but also sounding a little muddy (loss of detail due to the loud bass). I decided to purchase the SE, which I got from Walmart for $79. The SE arrived and I compared it to my Uboom L. Inside and outside, near and far, with all different types of music (mainly jazz, lofi, synth, acoustic, and rock). **I will say that the SE sounded better than the Uboom L for the most part.** The bass was better, it was fuller, and clarity was similar. It was decent at low volumes (which is how I listen to music most of the time), but the Uboom L is king at ultra low volume (10-20%)! **One thing about the SE though, is that it kind of sounded like the music was coming from inside of the speaker.** I know that sounds silly, because of course it is coming from inside the speaker, but one of the best things about the Uboom L is that it sounds really open and airy like the music is coming from the air rather than from the speaker itself. I really love that quality. I also tried the Soundcore Motion 300 against the Uboom L too and although it sounded really good (more bass, fuller), it also wasn't as open and airy. So after testing, I decided to keep the SE for outdoor use as it seemed better for those needs. But....I was just too curious to know what the regular Boom 2 sounded like. Was it better? I had to be sure I picked the right one. So I bought the regular Boom 2 off Amazon for $99. It arrived and I tested it against the SE (inside/outside, near/far, etc.) and **WOW, the regular Boom 2 is so much better.** Yes it's bass is boomy, but you can adjust the EQ to tame that down. Once it is tamed down, **it is actually a really clear sounding speaker with great bass** (just what I was looking for!). And another great thing, **it actually sounds open and airy, like the music is NOT coming from a box.** I'm also really happy with the form factor. It's not too big. I tried the Uboom X as well, which sounded GREAT, but it was just too big for my needs. The Boom 2 is between the Uboom L and the Uboom X in size. Plus the flat rectangular box shape works well for laying it flat (like the Motion 300 or Bose Flex) for more of a 360 sound (though it needs a LOT of adjustment to make the sound OK in that orientation, and even then, it doesn't sound super). **It's actually a pretty directional speaker that does not sound as well off axis or in this upward orientation.** I'm really happy with it so far (maybe I'll get another for TWS!) and my recommendation for anyone would be to spend the extra $20 for the regular Boom 2 as it's really a lot better.

A Pair of Earfun Uboom X speakers will deliver the best sound for that budget. Not the lightest boombox around but packs a punch and not as heavy as the Tribit Blast and & JBL Boombox. Harmon Kardon Go + play is highly rated and one of the best sounding portables in that $ range. The Soundcore Booms are great speakers for the size and weight and really great when you factor in the cost. You may just want to grab a second one for parties and wider stereo. The next big step up is the Earfun Uboom X. Not as portable as a Motion Boom because of the extra weight but the bass output is unbeatable for the money. Sounds nice and you can EQ it to sound even better. I would love a Brane X for the small form factor and deep deep bass but $500 is not chump change! You can get a pair of Motion Boom 2 's for $140 and pair of Uboom X speakers for under $300.

If those are too big, the Soundcore Boom 2 with Oluv's EQ will be the most neutral in the size below. The Diamondboxx and Devialet speakers generally aren't worth your time and are far from neutral. I’d go with the pair of flex since true stereo sounds much better imo, but pairing them can be annoying and maybe still not as much bass but the sound quality is so good. Now if you got another boom2, the soundcore pairs much easier, and the soundstage and bass would be better than a pair of flex.

Make sure you check if the size works for you. Personally the UBoom X was too big for me to carry around outside. That's why I like the Soundcore Boom 2. It's lightweight but still can produce a good outdoor sound. If you want something heavy and massive, the UBoom X is a good option.

Depends on your use case. I've got the tribit stormbox micro 2 but it's honestly rarely used for its intended purposes. My other speakers such as the Soundcore Boom 2 are small and light enough to carry around.

Size matters. I have a variety of Bluetooth speakers and home audio equipment. I loved the sound of that EarFun UBoom X but it was too large for my purposes. That may not apply to you. I kept the Boom 2 because of the size and weight. Normally I'd want something heftier but was quite surprised of the profile considering how little it weighed. I kept the Harman Kardon Go+Play 3 because I'm not planning on moving it around a lot. Yes, it's similar in size to the UBoom X but it serves a different purpose. I also have a Soundcore x600. I like it for near field listening. Good luck and report back what worked for you.

Thanks for the feedback. The reason I kept the HK and returned the EarFun is virtual peer pressure. I'm starting to listen more to my HK and understand why people enjoy this speaker. However, if I want a fun sounding speaker, I pull out my Boom 2. I also have a stereo system with a dedicated subwoofer. There's just something about the convenience of listening to a Bluetooth speaker.

Totally agree, I prefer the soundcore boom 2 over any speakers that i've Tried and had: Tribit lava (distorsion sometimes), U Boom x (distorsion sometimes and a bit priced too), tronsmart bang (distorsion), zealot (same thing), bose (overpriced),  Sony ult (was ok nothing more and priced),, Ue boom 3 (not m'y cup of tea), JBL Xtrem 1 and 4 (I sold the Xtrem 4 and still have the 1 which IS my favorite from JBL loud but still muffled, a bit heavy, and distorsion sometimes), JBL boom box 3 (distorsion sometimes, loud sounding, heavy, and not m'y thing).  Soundcore boom 2 cook them all. For $130 on usa amazon and 99€ on France amazon haha. I got it for 60€ with a Friend. Pretty sure he regret it now.

Hi, the Uboom x IS great but distortion sometimes and I still prefer my soundcore boom 2. That beast sounds great. 360° sounding speaker, easy to carry, light weight, solid 70 watts speaker as the soundcore boom 2 IS not compatible with thé app anymore. But not a problem for me. As the bass UP button IS awesome.  I've tried the soundcore boom 2 in front of tribit lava (distortion sometimes), U boom x (distortion sometimes), JBL Big boom box 3 (distortion And muffled sometimes), JBL Xtrem from 1 to 4 ( I had the 4 and sold it, I still have the Xtrem 1), tronsmart bang, zealot, bose, Sony speakers and still prefer the soundcore boom 2. And now there IS the New Soundcore boom 2 pro. Wow.

Hi dear person, I understand you,  but that's absolutely not the case for me. Why i don't know ;)  The app is not even useful with this beautiful beast. Because everything is perfectly balanced, and if you activate the bass up button on (you get even more wonderful sound). Sounds better, deeper, louder than most speakers I've had and tried (jbl xtrem 1 and 4, i sold the xtrem 4, bose, sony, etc.). I compared it with my friend's speakers (u boom x, Harman speakers, Eu Boom 3-4-5, Tribit lava, zealot 120 watts speaker, jbl boom 3 party speaker, bose, soundlink, beat, tronsmart bang, mini, etc.) The soundcore boom 2 cooks them all. For $90-120 on amazon. I got it for 60€ with my friend. And he regretted it deeply. He told me. In conclusion, I repeat: 70 truly watts speaker, 360° sound, Easy to carry, light weight, perfectly balanced sound midrange bass trebless high, no distortion even at full volume (be careful with your neighbors). That thing sounds like heaven!!! An engineer friend, that told me, that he has never listened to such 'medium' sized speaker that sounded that good .

I understand your perception and your thoughts. It was a time when there were not even apps for speakers. In the case of the soundcore boom 2. I understand the frustration of ingenious perfectionists not being able to manage EQ. I could not say why soundcore did that. I am not the author, nor an affiliate. In any case, I can tell you one thing with certainty: The sound does not even need adjustment, no need for adjustment. It sounds 2 times better than an xtrem 4 and a jbl boom 3 party jbl, as good as a bose model, better than harman speakers, x times better than the x king/tronsmart/zealot/tribit speakers. Which have a lot of distortion at high volume (even if the music is not made to be listened to at full volume.) In any case, I got it for 60€ and I am more than satisfied. In my garden or park evenings, my friends only say "woww". And I can understand, because this beast is brilliantly adjusted in terms of sound. Many have said they prefer the Soundcore Boom 2 to the U Boom x and others prefer the U Boom x. However, this one has a lot of distortion sometimes. Others have said, the Soundcore Boom 2 is superb for techno music but rubbish for the rest. Absolutely false!!! It is incredible for live performances, albums, jazz/rock/African music/Cuban/Celtic/metal/pop/country/acoustic instrumental/trap rnb etc etc etc. And even superb for watching a movie (I tried). I listen to dir en grey metal group on it sometimes, jazz, Christian music, rock, folk, rnb, techno, old music, classical music sometimes, Cuban, Brazilian (rosa passos guitarists and singer), and all types of unimaginable music. I'm a multi-instrumentalist musician. I like everything in music except vulgarity and propaganda. And I can say once again, that the Soundcore Boom 2 cooks all the speaker models I've heard (even those with modified EQ etc.). And that for $90-130 on Amazon. It's worse than a good deal, it's a robbery. This speaker doesn't need any EQ adjustment. It's great like that. Of course, we all have different tastes and preferences. It's normal ;) Ps: the ones that dislike the soundcore boom 2 are mostly people that are fan boy, trolls, and some honest people that had minor problems such shipping, that fell into a poor series of soundcore boom. Which is rare. Maybe the SE old version. The author of this, says he had buzz sounds... Definetely not a soundcore boom 2, probably a soundcore boom SE. The old one. Soundcore resolved the problem. And it is not buzzing. We are far from it. Or maybe he have a false one... Rare too.

Soundcore boom 2:  - $90-130 on amazon.  - 360° sounding speaker - Easy to carry light weight - 80 watts speaker (well 70 watts cause the app IS not compatible anymore, not a prob for me it IS a solid 70 watts speaker with the bass UP button pressed on.) - No distortion even at full volume Awesome trebles bass medium high, perfectly balanced.   And i seriously mean it is perfectly balanced. It is a beast. If you want to push the volume up, all the neighbor will hear that beast. And if you want to keep the volume low it sounds magnificent like heaven. Great for everytypes of music even the live concert sounds great whatever African music, rnd, trap, cuban, classical, metal, rock, pop, country folk, fusion, jazz ect.  I've tried a comparaison in front of lot and lot of speakers : Sony speakers, Bose speaker, w king, JBL x trem 1 and 4 which i had (still have the 1 and sold the 4), tribit lava, zealot, U boom x, tronsmart bang, JBL boom box 3 ect. They aren't bad but lot of distortion and muffled sometimes for some and overpriced. The JBL Xtrem 1 and 4 sounds poor next to it.  The soundcore boom 2 cook them all. For $90-130 on amazon. And in France 89€ actually. A great great deal and seriously that speaker is phenomenal. Sounds better than most 95% of overpriced Big speakers  Lot of my friends says : 'Woww' when i play the soundcore boom 2 on.  It is a versatile beast. An engineer that praise it as well and that says he never listened to such little speaker that sounds that good and that loud before.

I had Boom 2 and Motion Boom Plus. In my opinion Motion Boom Plus could be better. Boom 2 has a warm sound but not very clear due to is poor stereo separation. In my ears the sound was "boxed". Anyway it was a very good speaker for most of uses. Motion Boom+ maybe has more thinner sound but good stereo separation and more clarity and definition in every single sound impulse. Each instrument is clearly distinguishable, furthermore the bass are more punchy. I loved Boom 2 for vocal music and MB+ for instrumental music.

I'm a fan of the Soundcore speakers: Are the motion boom / boom 2 serieses. the smaller ones (not the pluses) portable enough for you? Sound is really good. Motion boom has 30W, boom 2 is 80W with top of class sound quality for the price (60-100 notes depending which and if there's an offer this week) and pretty decent battery. And you can charge your phone off them.

I recently tried a UBoom X, Tribit Lava and a Soundcore Boom 2 as an upgrade to my Soundcore Motion+. They all did worse than the Motion+. Then I thought, I might as well splash out on a Bose Soundlink Max. I tried it, compared it to the Soundcore Motion+ and hey, what do you know, the Motion+ had better clarity, seperation and midrange. The Soundlink Max had more deep bass, but that was it. Moral of the story: we all have different tastes. There are a lot of "bAss GoOd" posters here, who just value a big rumble. Just order a bunch from Amazon, try them, and return the ones you don't like. Also the UboomX is getting heavily shilled here. It looks like ass and doesn't sound as great as certain posters make it out to be.

Bird's post about the Uboom X and Soundcore Boom 2 are spot on, and for the money are a damned good deal. I had the Uboom X for a minute and ultimately returned it because it was too big, too "boombox-looking," and wasn't WiFi/AirPlay 2. But with Oluv's tuning, it was a bargain if you need a wall of detailed sound that goes LOUD. I have a pair of Sonos Move 2s (and more) hooked up to my AppleTV ecosystem, along with a number of other WiFi speakers. The Move 2s on their own are terrific, and paired, they are dynamite. If you want to go that route, you can't go wrong. I love the portability of my Move 2s, and you can't beat their sound signature (warm, not clinical). The EQ is only "okay" in the Sonos app, but...at least there is an EQ. I listened to the Devialet, and it was very good...but not as good as the Brane X, which costs much less. The Brane X is next on my list of purchases.

I have a pair of Felx 2s, just sent back my Charge 5, and thought my Soundcore Boom was just "okay." The Charge 5 may have gotten a bit louder (outside)), but the sound from my Flex 2 was good enough that I bought a second one to pair it with. Together, they're loud, detailed, clear, and have plenty of low-end. I'm currently using them on a sailboat (Ericson 30+), and they sound great in the cabin down below as well as up in the cockpit when I'm sailing offshore (Pacific) or in San Francisco Bay. There are likely other contenders you should consider... But what's your budget?

My experience: I ordered the Soundcore Boom 2, the UBoom X, and Tribit Blast. I know everyone has their own opinion, but here’s mine. I liked the Blast the best for its musicality, loudness, vocal clarity, and having an Aux In for a better TV sounds (especially baseball games). Next was the Boom 2, which sounds warmer but not quite as room filling, it’s great, smaller size, and for not much more $, the ability to have two linked together (but no Aux In). Also, the Blast seems to charge faster with its direct Ac plug in and longer lasting battery. I found the UBoom to not sound quite as good as the other two. I’d love to get others’ opinions in case I missed something.

Maybe go with something mid sized that you can add a 2nd one if you want a little more out of it. Soundcore Boom 2 would probably work or a Tribit Stormbox Lava. Once you go larger than that it might be too cumbersome, but a Zealot ZE 21 has a unique form factor and would give you more volume.

I tried it, something about it just feels hollow with the sound. I'm gonna try the bose soundlink.

I think you bought a dud. Return it, if you haven't already. I've got a boom 2 and it's excellent. Sounds great. Almost better than a UE hyperboom in many regards, which is crazy considering the cost difference and specs.

Now let's evaluate the prices. I think nothing even comes close to Soundcore Boom 2 in terms of value. I got mine for 90 euro and it's an absolute steal IMO. The Bose is roughly 4 times the price. JBL comes out to about 2.5 times the price. While I agree that the sound of Boom 2 is not perfect, it sounds pretty damn great for the money

For 30-40 people outside a charge might not be loud enough. Try a Sony xg300 or soundcore boom 2 at least. Better a soundcore motion boom plus 1/2, sony ult 7 or Tribit stormbox blast 1/2, or jbl encore.

If you have a Costco near you, I’d suggest two Soundcore Boom 2s. $140 for the pair, and True Wireless Stereo sounds awesome.

It’s currently on sale for $70. Thinking about picking up a pair to use in true stereo mode.

Yes. I bought mine just over a week ago. They sound fantastic paired in stereo. Really fun listening to old stuff from the late 60s like the Doors and CCC since the norm then was to completely isolate instruments to one channel. I like to put a Boom 2 on either side and sit in the middle, lol. And unlike my old JBL Flip 4s they only need to be paired once and then stay paired; I used to have all sorts of issues with the JBLs in stereo mode. Battery life is good too. I’ve listened to the Boom 2s at least a couple of hours everyday and I haven’t charged them since I unboxed them.

I like the soundcore boom handles way more actually. The Sony xg300 handle is kinda flexible and doesn’t hold as nice to me. It wobbles. And the thicker soundcore handles are more round, I would choose them everytime. Though portability is a thing, soundcore handles are fixed
