Yes, i have owned JBL speakers, more specifically, 2 JBL Partybox Encore Essential and 2 JBL Charge 5's. The partyboxes were one of the best speakers i've ever had and the Charge 5's were some really nice speakers, though for me, the Soundcore motion+ mentioned in my post has better overall sound and soundstage. The only problem i had with JBL is that the Charge 5's had connectivity issues when paired in stereo. The best speaker that i own right now is my Bose soundlink Max. It has amazing soundstage, impressive bass, and unpaired instrument separation, though is a bit overpriced because you can get something bigger and better for the price, but for the size is the best without a doubt. If you're looking to switch brands i think that Soundcore is your best option, because Sony speakers are still mediocre unless you buy the Big ones, and Bose is overpriced and has no variety. Though i have to say that maybe your experience was simply bad luck, because for the majority of people here, JBL is the brand that is leading in terms of portable speakers. It has speakers for every size and use, it is relatively affordable and has great sound on all of their speakers. Still, to make my recommendations, for something cheap and nice, you can look for the Soundcore motion+ and Soundcore motion 300 (i have both). For bigger options, Soundcore boom 2, earfun uboom X, or tribit stormbox blast.

Yes, it is somewhat close, but i've tried quite a few of S size speakers (about the size of a JBL flip 6) and every speaker of that size has that problem, maybe the only one that doesn't is the Soundcore motion 300, so don't be dissapointed about it. It's just that since they're small speakers, you will normally put them at 60-70% volume where on a bigger speaker that would be about 50%, and most estimated battery life measurements are done on 50% volume, so that's why it's not too accurate on this cases.

No problem, and yeah though it is technically true that if you use it at 50% volume it could last you 12 hours, a speaker that sounds so good just makes you want to crank up that volume! If you want any opinions/recommendations though, right now my favourite and the one that i'm gonna stay with is the Earfun Uboom L (i've had Soundcore motion 300, JBL flip 6, Sony ULT Field 1, Soundcore Motion+, JBL Charge 5, etc). You might be surprised, but that single 10 band equalizer is what makes it so good, because you can have the clarity and brightness of the Flip 6 while having the strong deep bass of the Ult Field 1. Just to compare, it goes deeper and way louder than the ULT Field 1, and i think that on indoor Mode it has a deeper bass than the Charge 5, while in outdoor mode it gives an amazing party soundstage, and i also think that it goes the same loudness of the Charge 5, at least with high volume equalizers. The battery life is a bit better than the Sony too!

Sony ult field 1 gives an amazing punch in the shower, JBL flip 6 is a good option too, but if you really want a bang for your buck, the soundcore motion 300 is unbeatable with the right EQ (if you don't like creating a personal EQ, you can search one on Google too). And for a smaller option, the Sony XB100.

I guess it depends on the liking. I think it looks better than Tribit flow, but the tribit has reverse charging as a feature which I think should be standard (though not many have it).

Save your money and get two 300's. It's close enough to the Flex Gen 2 that any differences are not worth the cost difference. Additionally, the Flex gen 2 bleeds battery at about 10% per week. So if you had the Flex 2 without charging in two months, it'll be dead. Bose refuses to acknowledge this problem. the Bose Max also has this problem. There's a thread here just dealing with tis problem.

I like the 300, but the Flex Gen 2 is a bit better. The 300's LDAC setting cuts out too much with Android. It's more inconsistent compared to the Flex 2. But bang for buck for a student with less $, the 300 (or Motion +) is unbeatable. The one thing Soundcore lacks are better parts. You get what you pay for. The BT 5.3 has more delay for movies then the Flex 2 or Nashville. This shouldn't be. And the batteries should last longer from suddenly crapping out in 3 years compared to solid American designed units. And then we have the Nashville which is as good/better as the Bose, but has a superior form factor in turning it vertically for less a footprint on the table, true 360 degree sound (sounds the same front or back), longer battery life at 24 hrs, and a mic. The Flex 2 is a solid performer, but they should have added a stronger battery. The Gen 2 is too similar to the Gen 1.

these are all worth their weight in gold: $150 on Amazon - TriBit Stormbox Blast $140 on Amazon ($70/ea) - 2x Soundcore Motion Boom $138 on Amazon ($69/ea) - 2x Anker Soundcore Motion+ $112 on Amazon ($56/ea) - 2x Soundcore Motion 300's $107 on Amazon - Soundcore Motion Boom Plus $100 on Amazon ($50/ea) - 2x Earfun UBOOM L i personally own the TriBit, the Soundcore Motion+, the Earfuns, and I also was able to score a Harman Kardon Onyx 7 for $130 which is right in your price range. I love all of these speakers a lot, but the Harman Kardon has the best bass for the kind of music that I listen to.

I bought both the Uboom L and motion 300 to compare the 2 and ended up keeping the 300. Uboom sounded nice and had a little more bass but there were too many hoops to jump through to change the firmware to the “right one” for the best tuning. Maybe once it’s added into app functionality I’ll try it again. The 300 sounds great and full for its size when EQ’d right. I also don’t like the exposed passive radiators on smaller speakers I’ll be carry/packing around a lot, but that’s just a personal preference thing.

Second this, hidden gem and one of the longest battery life on a speaker that size. Could also go with Soundcore and the Motion 300 but Tribit X Sound 2 is 24H while Soundcore is 13H

I collect small bluetooth speakers. Over the years i keep trying new brands. I'm impressed with the Tribit XSound Plus 2 and even better for its great low price and 24H battery which there isn't many with that high battery. Clean sound and bass and the bass boost really thumps. It also has aux which is why I was looking around for a smaller speaker with aux because there isn't many besides the UBoom L which i also have but I also have a bunch of Soundcore like the Mini 3 and Motion 300 but theres no aux. I'm also looking to add the Tribit StormBox 2 which is another small speaker from them and it also has aux but it looks more durable and for travel and outdoor. From other brands those more durable and outdoor ones are made for travel and party uses are more bass focused and not as clean audio so have to compare but right now XSound Plus 2 I'm impressed.

300 is great. Sounds as good to me as my Uboom L, Flip 6 or Motion Plus did, but lays flat which helps in a golf cart. I prefer the flat shape for packing and for the ability to lay flat in a golf cart, on a bed, etc. All of the above have very good sound for their respective size category…at the point when I’m splitting hairs over sound, shape, features and app become more important tie breakers.

I agree with the other replies that two speakers are better than one. It depends on how big you are willing to carry around. My favorite that I've settled on is the Soundcore Boom 2. Although it is slightly larger than my idea size for a portable speaker, the handle makes it easy to move around. In my opinion it is just about the perfect balance of size, clarity, and bass for a portable speaker. It has great sound and great bass (even outside). It just won't fit in a small spot. For a smaller speaker, I would recommend the Earfun Uboom L or the Soundcore Motion 300 or the Bose Soundlink Flex. Again, a pair of these in stereo will get the best most room filling sound. All of these are small and easy to carry and easy to place anywhere. If you just want one speaker, I would recommend the Tribit Stormbox Blast or the Earfun Uboom X. They both sound great, with full sound, clarity, and deep bass. But they are huge! Probably not easily carried from room to room, but that that is your decision to make. The Soundcore Boom 2 would be good as a single speaker too, with a smaller size, but it won't sound quite as good as these other two.

I've been using the Earfun Uboom L for a long while now for ALL of my bluetooth speaker needs (work desk, on the deck, around the fire, camping, in the garage, etc.). I really love the speaker, especially when paired with another in TWS. However, **I have been looking for something with a little more bass and fullness, especially when outdoors. I really value clarity, fullness, bass, and neutrality, in that order.** After some research on this subreddit, **I decided to try the Soundcore Boom 2**. I saw a video on youtube comparing the Boom 2 to the Boom 2 SE (Walmart's version of the Boom 2). **For those of you that don't know, the Boom 2 SE has two 2.76" full range drivers, where the regular Boom 2 has one 3.54" x 4.72" racetrack woofer and two .79" tweeters.** In the video, both speakers sounded good, with the Boom 2 having more bass, but also sounding a little muddy (loss of detail due to the loud bass). I decided to purchase the SE, which I got from Walmart for $79. The SE arrived and I compared it to my Uboom L. Inside and outside, near and far, with all different types of music (mainly jazz, lofi, synth, acoustic, and rock). **I will say that the SE sounded better than the Uboom L for the most part.** The bass was better, it was fuller, and clarity was similar. It was decent at low volumes (which is how I listen to music most of the time), but the Uboom L is king at ultra low volume (10-20%)! **One thing about the SE though, is that it kind of sounded like the music was coming from inside of the speaker.** I know that sounds silly, because of course it is coming from inside the speaker, but one of the best things about the Uboom L is that it sounds really open and airy like the music is coming from the air rather than from the speaker itself. I really love that quality. I also tried the Soundcore Motion 300 against the Uboom L too and although it sounded really good (more bass, fuller), it also wasn't as open and airy. So after testing, I decided to keep the SE for outdoor use as it seemed better for those needs. But....I was just too curious to know what the regular Boom 2 sounded like. Was it better? I had to be sure I picked the right one. So I bought the regular Boom 2 off Amazon for $99. It arrived and I tested it against the SE (inside/outside, near/far, etc.) and **WOW, the regular Boom 2 is so much better.** Yes it's bass is boomy, but you can adjust the EQ to tame that down. Once it is tamed down, **it is actually a really clear sounding speaker with great bass** (just what I was looking for!). And another great thing, **it actually sounds open and airy, like the music is NOT coming from a box.** I'm also really happy with the form factor. It's not too big. I tried the Uboom X as well, which sounded GREAT, but it was just too big for my needs. The Boom 2 is between the Uboom L and the Uboom X in size. Plus the flat rectangular box shape works well for laying it flat (like the Motion 300 or Bose Flex) for more of a 360 sound (though it needs a LOT of adjustment to make the sound OK in that orientation, and even then, it doesn't sound super). **It's actually a pretty directional speaker that does not sound as well off axis or in this upward orientation.** I'm really happy with it so far (maybe I'll get another for TWS!) and my recommendation for anyone would be to spend the extra $20 for the regular Boom 2 as it's really a lot better.

I have enjoyed the Wonderboom. I like the small footprint and 360 sound actually works well. JBL Flip 6 is good. It likely has a little bit better sound quality than Wonderboom (wonderboom sounds quite good, but I think JBL adds a bit more bass). Soundcore Motion 300 is good too. It is modeled after the Bose Flex. It does sound really good.

I think for best sound quality the Bose Flex and the JBL Flip 6 both sound really good. The Sony Ult 1 also sounds really good that is easy to pickup for 99 at Walmart USA. (Costco USA has the Bose for 99). Both the Soundcore Glow and Motion 300 are both really good. The 300 rips off the Bose design, but it has all of its best options of the Bose like it knows when it flat or on the edge and adjust the speakers based upon this. I have the Wonderboom 2. The newer 4 has improved base. I do like its 360 sound design and its small footprint that makes it easy to carry around.

I would agree that Bose Soundlink Flex 2 has the best sound quality in a small personal size. The Wonderboom is a great device. I still use WB2. It has great sound for the size and 360 sound claim is legitimate. Wonderboom 4 improved the bass over the 2. It is super easy to carry around with its softball size. Soundcore has so many speakers it is confusing. I would pick Motion 300 as best personal sized speaker. It borrowed many of the Bose Flex features such as sensing if it is laying flat or on its edge and adjusting speaker output. The Glow Mini or regular mini are good too.

I do love the Wonderboom myself. You hear so much random stuff, but some people here thought thought the Wonderboom 4 sounded better than the Boom 4, but I have no idea if that is true. I did buy the Wonderboom 2 during covid, and I love the clear sound and the portability. It seems true that Wonderboom 4 has better bass and sounds better at 80 percent max volume. Walmart does have some pretty good demo speakers currently. They have a good number Soundcore speakers that do sound good. The Soundcore Motion 300 sounds good. It is modeled on the Bose Flex that is supposed the best sounding personal speaker. So, the 300 usually costs $80.00. The Audio editor from cnet has given me some good headphone suggestions. He thought the Bose was the best personal speaker, but the Soundcore 300 really is competitve with the JBL Flip 6, Boom 4 and other. You could buy two of those for true stereo if the budget allows or add another later. The Tribit Flow is another Bose imitation, but it seems to sound really good too. The new Sony Ult 1 is really good sounding speaker. Walmart sells it for $99.00 it sounded really good too. Several of these speakers that look like old school jam boxes supposedly sound great. So, the Soundcore Boom 2 or the Tribit Stormbox Blast. I did hear the Soundcore Boom 2, and it does sound great. This cnet list of the best bluetooth speakers helped me. Something like the uboom L/soundcore motion 300 is what you would want. Fitting in every backpack, even fitting in some bug pockets, pretty loud for the size. The bass could be some issue but it is what it is when you want something portable. I think motion 300 is amazing because of it's built in strap. You could strap it everywhere you want which is a big plus for traveling.

Oops, apologies -- I always have a ton of notifications and probably missed the Q. I returned mine purely because I needed a BT speaker for a series of gatherings at the time that never happened. In the absence of those events, I had little use for a Bluetooth speaker of any kind -- big or small -- and eventually decided to return my Luna. If I need a new speaker again though, I would probably broaden my search. I got a Soundcore Motion 300 for my dad (different needs and obviously less demanding ears) and I was very impressed by its power and clarity. The 300 and Luna are not exactly comparable products especially price wise -- but the 300 packed a lot of punch for its price whereas Luna delivered more crisp and clear vocals in my perception.

I haven’t heard the Glows to compare them to, but I imagine they would be decent as well. I guess the discount amount would be key. I second this. This is a really good idea. Most “room filling” sound is going to be too loud for your neighbors. BUT, a pair or more small speakers together will SOUND fuller even at lower volumes. Flip 6 is good. EarFun Uboom L sounds really good in stereo and at low volumes. Plus you can switch to indoor mode for less “boom”. Motion 300 is really good too and would work well for your situation.

To be honest, i don't even use LDAC on the soundcore. I use it through SBC and it still remains on top of my list. Gen 2 is right up there, but i give the stereo advantage of the 300 a few points. The bose is more convenient than the soundcore, and has more body to the bass, even tho i believe the soundcore goes deeper without having this xtreme upperbass. The klipsch has replicated marshall. Same setup as the emberton series. I personally don't like that driver placement. I know that technically the flex setup is basically one of the 2 sides of the nashville, but if it has any chance of being stereo it does a bad job at it

inside the shower the best options are tribit micro 2 or soundcore motion 300 outside shower the best option is earfun uboom x. soundcore boom 2 is great as well, but if you have the space, always go for the uboom x, it's a completely different league.

Tribit Micro 2 is the current reference speaker in this class, you will love it! mine got stolen though :( now i have the Soundcore Motion 300 with oluv's uboom l eq and it is just lovely! size and power is quite different though, 10W vs. 30W, but they both have an attachment strap, so they can be used for the same purpose. the motion 300 is my travel speaker now and i couldn't be happier with it!

indeed, but also triple the power. i don't see any problem with the motion 300 in size and weight for an average consumer for home or portable use. kitchen radios and micro stereo systems used to be way bigger and heavier in the past and average consumers used them as well without any problems.

he never said what exact size he is looking for. i consider the motion 300 as a small portable speaker. i use mine for travelling. definitely should get the tribit micro 2 if that is the size he is looking for. that thing is just sweet. personally i wouldn't go any smaller than that.

Since it has two drivers, some people mistakenly think of it as "stereo." It's not, really. BUT, for the price, it's a decent alternative, since you can buy two and pair them for a little more than a retail-priced Flex 2. I bought both of mine as factory refurbs for under $100, though. But comparing one-to-one, the Bose simply sounds richer, and more balanced. The 300 is "good enough" for those wanting to spend $50-70, though.

Just search Google with the keywords "refurbished" or "factory refurbished" for any items you like. As for a paired group of 300s, I think (but don't know from experience) they'd offer better separation, be louder by a bit, and give you true stereo. Plus, you could always travel with just one as your on-the-road speaker and be happy with it.

Check my latest post here, x2 motion vs Bose Flex 2, the motion 300 are still amazing speakers and sound amazing for less than 120€ a pair, they are highly customizable,I use the Oluv's eqs but you can make it sound how you like it.

Going off AudioMan's suggestion, I can also confirm that Soundcore is a pretty good budget brand. ANKER is a very good accessories brand, making some of the best cables and chargers for electronics. I love their chargers, and I've reecommended chargers, USB hubs, and their Soundcore products to just about everyone. A whiiiiile back, I got the Soundcore Wakey. I'm not sure if you can still find it, but it's a Bluetooth speaker clock. It has capacitive buttons on the front, but it also connects to the Soundcore app (yay... another app lol) to set alarms and do white noise machine stuff. It has an FM radio mode, USB ports for slow charging devices, wireless charging up top (the old kind that can take forever but not heat up your phone as bad), and even an aux-in. Also, AudioMan recommended the Soundcore Motion X600, but that speaker is essentially a boombox. Its younger sibling, the Motion X300, is much more portable. It's probably as large as a clutch purse or something, but it's got a pretty robust strap with a button fastener. It's a little heavy for clipping to your belt or belt loop, but it gives you a handle for carrying it around without having a handle getting in your way of it being portable. Best part, I [looked at the manual](https://support.soundcore.com/s/article/A3135-EN) and it *CLEARLY* says that you short press to turn on, longer press to turn off. It's got LDAC too, which is nice. For a sub-$100 speaker, it's pretty good. A single charge lasts forever, too.

My JBL Charge 4 was great but now won’t stay turned on. I went with the Soundmotion 300 and I have to say it seems like the same loudness of the JBL but with clearer audio and cheaper price.

If you use the aux in then there should be no latency. Anker Soundcore Motion is quite good.

Hello, the Soundcore Motion is a great value option with excellent sound quality and aptX support, ideal for music production. The X600 and Boom Plus are also solid choices for immersive sound. Higher wattage (W) means louder volume, while higher kHz improves sound detail, but balance matters for overall quality
