You could do a lot worse than this Soundcore, which has just been reduced again. (Much to my husband's annoyance as he only bought his a few weeks ago and it was ÂŁ20 more) [https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soundcore-Titanium-Technology-Waterproof-Bluetooth/dp/B08LQNL42Z/](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soundcore-Titanium-Technology-Waterproof-Bluetooth/dp/B08LQNL42Z/)
I had the Soundcore Boom (1st gen) until very recently when it started acting up. Then I took the plunge and bought my first Bose product, the Soundlink Max. The Boom was very good for its price. It was like 80⏠back then, the Soundlink Max was 300âŹ. Does it sound more than 3x as good? No. But the difference is really big. I donât know how the Boom 2 sounds but I think itâs safe to say that for like 90⏠it will sound very good, just like its predecessor. If your goal is to save money while still getting good sound absolutely go for it. But I also bet that it comes nowhere close to the Bose. When comparing the Boom 1 with the Soundlink Max (both tuned to my taste via their apps) the Max has actual stereo separation (completely missing on the Boom), instruments are way more nuanced, bass gets a lot deeper and it simply sounds way better. Build quality and materials are also leagues better. I would still happily recommend the Boom (and likely version 2) to anyone who isnât willing to spend much, but saying they sound just as good is simply far, far from the truth.

I have Motion Boom, the only way I'd hike with it would be if was strapped to my back. No way I'd use the strap it comes with. Not real heavy, but it's basically a hard plastic box and if it's moving around it will be a pain.
The XE300 is a horribly muffled and hollow sounding speaker. None of those are even close to the Motion Boom
I have several in pairs. If someone wanted to get in cheap, two motion booms.
