If this is something you fall asleep to, why not just get a small mains powered stereo system or even just powered speakers? You can always have a portable speaker as well. This would work better in a number of ways: * Better sound quality when used in your sleeping location, plus a portable speaker to use when somewhere else. A small portable speaker will have very little to no stereo separation (many of them are mono). * A stereo system isn't going to have a long press to turn on. Many portable devices will have this because they are designed to be transported and no one wants an accidental turn-on in their bags. Also, this seems like a very weird thing to be picky about and something you can get over with very little effort. * A home stereo will likely have a full function remote. * No need to worry about falling asleep with the stereo on. It runs on mains power. That said, this feature is often adjustable within the companion app of portable speakers. All of that said, if you insist on a portable speaker, I've liked what I've heard from Soundcore (some had a crap EQ preset out of the box, but once it was set to flat, the sound was far better). I'd go for the [Motion X600](https://www.soundcore.com/products/motion-x600-a3130011?ref=speakers), which has a short press to power on (long press to power off) and a 20 minute auto shutoff. Sony also has some nice options and I know that the ones I've tried are a short press to power on/off and had an auto power-off when the speakers weren't connected to power which could be turned off in the app: https://electronics.sony.com/c/wireless-speakers.
Two Motion X600 tandem in True Wireless Stereo Mode. I've used them for four years in North Carolina because the apartment building doesn't allow soundbars due to the neighbors' concern that they are too noisy. All one needs to do is first set both devices up to operate in TWS, then get Bluetooth to recognize the TV in the TV's speaker menu. They capture even the most subtle nuances of the soundtrack, making you feel that one is the "special guest star" right in the thick of the action, and the 10-bit color's vivid, spectacular color palette also contributes that sensation too!
You should really take a look at the soundcore motion x600. It’s darn good and immersive. $129 is a great price
No BT speaker exists that can make you tell the difference between 320kbps MP3 and lossless. I'm not even sure I could tell the difference on my Hifi system tbh. But I know the X600 has LDAC with 990kbps bitrate, which you definitely won't be able to tell the difference from lossless. It has an AUX input too though for true lossless. I'm pretty sure there are other BT speakers with the same features though.
Yes, Anker Soundcore Motion X600.
I've been using two Soundcore Boom 2 in TWS for about a year now. I have really liked them, but I'm always exploring for new speakers. At the same time, I have a proper system set up in the basement using a Yamaha receiver and a set of Infinity bookshelf speakers. I much prefer that system because it has better clarity, separation, and soundstage. So, I was wondering if I could get close to that system using portable bluetooth speakers. Again, I have been happy with my Boom 2's as they have great fullness and bass, but they didn't have the clarity and separation of my bookshelf system. I've been curious about the Motion X600 for a long time. It is claimed to be an audiophile speaker, however, it gets very mixed reviews on reddit. So I purchased a couple of X600's from Walmart (white version, running firmware 8.2.2). I have been comparing them to the Boom 2's over the last couple of days. My initial reactions are that yes, **the X600 has better clarity, separation, and soundstage.** As expected, **the Boom 2 has deeper and more punchy bass, this helps to make the music sound more full**. I won't say that the Boom 2 has MUCH better bass than the X600, but it is noticeable. On many songs, the extra bass depth isn't noticeable, on some other songs it is. Another thing I noticed is that **although the X600 has more clarity and the separation, some details are lost.** I know this sounds confusing, but I feel like there is something that gets lost in the details when more separation occurs. I noticed this same thing when I compared the JBL Flip 6 to the Uboom L, the Flip 6 had better separation (which helped for outdoor listening), but I could hear more details with the Uboom L (which helped for indoor near field listening). An example when I was comparing the X600 to the Boom 2 was on the Bill Evans Trio album Sunday at the Village Vanguard. It is a live recording at a venue and there are small background noises like people talking and dishes clanking. Those noises are very apparent on the Uboom L, apparent on the Boom 2, and barely audible on the X600. However, the instruments are cleaner, clearer, and more separated on the X600. I don't know which I like better. I love the clarity of the X600, but I don't feel good knowing that I might be missing some details of the music. I will say that I feel like the "spatial" soundstage of the X600 is less noticeable when you are comparing it to other speakers in TWS. TWS on any speaker is going to give you that experience of music floating in the air and not coming out of a box. However, I will say that it is still a difference. The music on the X600 floats in the middle of the space better than the music coming out of the Boom 2's. It's a small difference though and I'm not sure you would even realize it unless you were specifically listening for it. When comparing the X600 and the Boom 2 to my Infinity speakers and Yamaha receiver, the X600 sounds more similar to that bookshelf system. The clarity and soundstage is better on the X600. But again, the Boom 2 sounds a little fuller. An interesting observation though, from comparing these bluetooth speakers to my stereo bookshelf system is that **the Boom 2 almost sounds like it has a little bit of reverb or something.** It almost makes it sound fuller and more detailed, but that sound is absent on my proper stereo set up, so I'm assuming its not natural. For instance, when I am listening to slow jazz and there is a constant open cymbal, the Boom 2 (and the Uboom L) have like a constant hiss or swish sound, where the X600 and the stereo system don't, they are tighter and cleaner. Again, I'm not sure what is causing this and it's not really present on my stereo system, so not natural? Has anyone else noticed this? I really like the X600 too and not sure why it gets so much hate from some people on reddit. At this point I'm not sure if I like it better than the Boom 2, but I'm going to continue comparing the two. It's one of those unfortunate things too, where although I like the clarity and separation of the X600, that bass on the Boom 2 can really make the songs sound really good and full even though the sound is a little muddier. Which is more important to me? I guess I'll find out. **\*\*\*Update: The more I listen to the X600, the more I like it. The clarity and separation is so good. It also has a more even sound with better mids. In comparison now, the Boom 2 sounds hollow (more bass and more highs, but lack of mids) and muddy. I also still feel like it has a very minor reverb or echo when used in TWS, at least compared to the X600 which just sounds clean and sharp.** **\*\*\*Additional discussion: I feel like after I charged the X600 fully, it sounds better and fuller. Is this a real thing? I don’t feel like my Boom 2 lost quality at low battery. It could just be in my head though.**
Its weird, the sound is awful unless you put the spatial audio on, then its ok.
You mean with the spatial audio off? With it on, it sounds great
soundcore motion 300 or motion 600 are good items. The Motion 300 knows whether it is laid flat or on its edge. So, this would work well if you laid it on a seat or in the foot well.
Soundcore Motion. 300 or 600 are good
Soundcore Motion 600. It's a big speaker, also has an 'immersive' experience and on almost 50% sale right now!
I ended up buying 2 to try out. I was impressed by the sound quality, but the bass was lacking. I ended up returning them and got two UBOOM X speakers instead. I love my motion 300s, and really wanted to like the 600s, but needed more low end power.
i used to want to pay more for the same sound quality and recently i chosed to be like mrwhostheboss and go for a speaker that have the same feature but cost less like Motion X600 at 199.99
