I took the boom 2 last year (gave it to a friend in Jamaica when I left) it just wasn’t nearly as loud as I was hoping. The year before I took the Tribit Stormbox, but it was almost too large to take, and I ended up leaving it with someone because I was afraid JA TSA was gonna say it’s too big for return trip (plus we were bringing home a rescue dog) I loved the sound and quality from it but was bigger and heavier than I’d hoped. Wish there was something in the middle.

I took the storm box 2 years ago when we went to Jamaica. It was exactly loud enough, and the sound quality was great. But it was also borderline not really supposed to get it on the plane because of its size and weight. I ended up leaving it For a friend in Jamaica, because I didn’t want Jamaican TSA to decide to take it and I figured I was better off giving it to who I wanted adverse of them just taking it. I wish they had one like that, but that wasn’t as big and heavy with the same sound quality. But I know I’m Likely never going to find that.

Damn. I need something close to the wattage of the Tribit Stormbox but not as big and heavy. Idk if I’m gonna find what I’m looking for. But I can’t imagine paying $300 for something that’s only 50w

Tribit iirc Storm (smaller square one, good speakers on sale) does this but for some reason, and nothing states this anywhere, will only charge something when the speaker is over 50%

just received my s89 today, it's straight ass. I prefer the sound quality of my Tribit Stormbox so much more than this. the bass is sloppy so it's all high treble and muddy bass, but you don't even feel the bass it's just flop of the passives. anyone who swings this so hard is obviously a paid shill for the company.

r/Bluetooth_Speakers • Not sure if Zealot is even good, the reviews (if real) are pretty good. Does anyone know why there’s separate listing for the S98 model? ->

I’d second the Tribit Stormbox also; I feel like it has so much power behind it and you can crank it pretty loud before it’s sound quality begins to suffer.

Micro(2), Blast(2) and Lava are great. XSound Plus (2) and Stormbox(2) alright, but there are better speakers in that size imo. Stormbox Mini(2) just blows.

I had a Tribit Stormbox. Awesome bass and that was the best boombox you could get for under $200 IMO. Earfun Uboom X is my go to budget blaster now but if you need something more portable and lighter than 9lbs check out some reviews of the Soundcore Boom 2 or even more compact Bose flex2.

I am guessing it was little can sized Tribit Stormbox that is about the size of the JBL Flip. Look at the Soundcore Boom 2 for a good upgrade in output. A Tribit Lava would also be a decent upgrade.

Ah. I don't know what the current gen of tribit stormbox sounds like - I have the og (then known as xboom) and like it, its 2 drivers fire out left and right so it's somewhat 360. Basically it's a taller version of what you've got but sounds a lot better. Unfortunately you managed to pick one of the few acknowledged duds in Tribit's lineup with that speaker.

Go with this if it is available wherever you are. If unfortunately it isn’t then only the next best thing is tribit x sound plus 2 if you want stereo, stormbox if you want 360 sound and stormbox flow if you want good but mono sound. Cheers !
