On a good day, you can get two Tribit Stormbox 2s for less than $150 and pair in TWS mode. Else, get one. You can also check out the Soundcore Motion+ if you find one available.
I've been a victim of this same phenomenon, but I cut the cycle and finally bought a decent speaker. I checked the recommendations of reddit and went ahead with Tribit Stormbox 2 which costed around 6K. I wanted to go for Emberton II but I compared and saw that Tribit and Bose Flex 2 had better quality at the same price point. But Tribit Stormbox Lava was a bit heavier for my purpose, so Stormbox 2 it is. And I'm actually quite happy with the bass and the sound. Let's see how long this lasts. Prior to this, I owned a Xiaomi speaker of around 1.3K and some other pocket speaker which I got as a gift from my company.
So far been using two stormbox2 (tws) for my new TV and the sound is just amazing. Much better than my built in TV one anytime and suitable for my usage as I don't really have a place for a soundbar (using a mobile TV rack)
I was not sure the size you needed, but I have had a chance to try the Tribit Stormbox 2 or Soundcore Glow or Motion 300. 👍
Tribit Stormbox 2 or Tribit Blast have great reviews in wired mag. Blast 159 and Stormbox 2 at 80.
It depends what size you want. The Bose is very good if you want a small speaker. The Tribit Stormbox 2 is a very good smaller speaker that competes with the JBL Flip 6. It has a very good review by Wired .
The Tribit Stormbox 2 is good you like the cylinder style.
The tribit stormbox is a good item. I have liked some of the UE products like the Wonderboom or Boom 4
The Tribit Stormbox 2 has great battery life. I would prob opt for that one. Its also waterproof so good for kitchen splashes
Tribit makes some nice speakers for the price. Stormbox, Xsound, or Stormbox micro if you want a smaller size. All under $100. I just ordered a Xiaomi 30w out of curiosity, which was about $60 CAD
All I know is that I can have my Stormbox 2 blasting for 12 hours over the loudness of a double forklift.
I have the stormbox 2 and play it in a loud facility while wearing earplugs and driving a double forklift. Full blast gets me 7 hours and 75% will last me my whole 12 hour shift.
