In terms of direct competitors the boom 2 plus and og stormbox blast
well i dont have two of each, only the blast! just bought another one (2024) and it sounds better than my last one (2022).
i think you mean brighter! no i really hear the opposite, details stand out better for me on blast and boom 2 plus. 0.48 firmware is the latest on my uboom x. I have no intention of paying for further firmware's. Just to clarify are you saying uboom x sounds better than the blast and boom 2 plus only on olafs firmwares?
The holy grails are HK Go and Play 3, Teufel Boomster and Tribit Stormbox Blast.
From best to worst 1. Soundcore motion + 2. Klipsch nashville 3. Sony ult field 5 & tribit stormbox lava (tie) 4. Marshall emberton 3 & Bose soundlink flex 2 (tie) 5. Kef muo 6.tribit stormbox blast (OG) & Earfun uboom x(tie) 7. Soundcore boom 2 & x600 8. Harman kardon onyx studio 6 9. UE everboom, wonder boom & epicboom Soundcore motion + has been discontinued and has no ip dust rating Klipsch nashville, kef muo, bose soundlink flex 2, and harman kardon onyx studio 6 are mono format speakers Sony ult field 5, tribit stormbox lava & blast, earfun u boom x, Soundcore boom 2 & x600, UE epicboom and HK onyx studio 6 are all pretty large. The Marshall emberton 3, UE everboom & epic boom are 360⁰ speakers this is subjectively worse than a forward firing speaker for soundquality.
I don't think the speakers you have in mind are powerful enough for your application. I would at least choose a speaker from the boombox class, such as the W-King X20, the Tribit StormBox Blast 1 or 2, or, if you can still get it, an EarFun UBOOM X, which offers the best value for money. The Soundcore Boom 2 Plus/Pro is quite light, but I deliberately put it at the bottom of my list.
I'd vote for Tribit for boombox category. Stormbox Blast is still unbeatable with its price/performance ratio IMO.
I agree, The Tribit Stormbox Blast 1, is super solid sounding right out of the box!
I have the Stormbox Blast and Micro 2. Good enough for me.
Tribit blast is easily and i mean easily the best speaker of the 4 ya listed
Here's the thing . You could get the og tribit blast for anywhere from 140 to 170 and smoke this and everything else .... or spend tad more or wait for a killer sale and get the wking x20 which smokes literally everything including the hb3 ... oh did he say x20 better than bb3 ?? F yes I did and the thing charges with type c up to 60 watts so ya can charge it on the go.. . Crazy how the x20 is still kickin ass over almost everything and its been out for lil over a year
This is something I have looked into and the options are not great if you need something that can get loud For portability I think Bluetooth speakers make the most sense. That said you don't get much for $80. Anker makes some solid options that perform well on a budget. I own an Anker Soundcore Motion+, speaker which costs $80. For a small portable speaker it sounds great for background music. The downside is it's pretty small so is limited on how loud it gets. It works well for a BBQ or hanging out with friends but it's not exactly the best option if you want to crank it I also own a Tribit StormBox Blast. Which is a good amount more powerful and can get quite a bit louder than the Motion+. It also costs a lot more $200 (though I got it for $160 on sale) That said, I think at lower volumes the Motion+ sounds much better to me and is much cheaper and I use it way more than the Tribit. It's fine for hanging out and turning the music up but it's not audiophile and it wouldn't be my choice for a backyard rave. Somewhere between the two is the Anker Soundcore Boom 2. It's not rated as high as the StormBox but for much less ($120) you'll get something that's almost as loud. Other options are just getting a cheap class D amp and used bookshelf speakers. You'll get much better sound quality and loudness but you'll need to increase your budget a bit and it's not the most portable option. If you want something that has the power for a party here is a list of good party speakers but as you'll see these are way above your budget. https://www.rtings.com/speaker/reviews/best/parties
I feel it. With that budget, I'd go with the UBOOM X. I was one of those people that would talk shit about it because I saw so many people hyping it up, but I gave it a chance and it is well worth the money I paid for ($103). But even on prime you can snag it for around $120 which is still a good deal. If you do go this route, make sure you put UBOOMXXX in the discount code thing in Amazon. It should bring it down to that price. Just helping a fellow Redditor out. I also heard they're discontinuing the UBOOM X. $15 bucks more you can get the Tribit Stormbox Blast which, in my opinion, is an awesome speaker. The choice is yours.
Yuup! The only downside is you have to rely on the app and Oluvs EQs.. say you’re at a gathering or something- not everyone is gonna have the app. At least with the Blast you don’t have to rely on different EQs.
