Danke Man! Das war genau das, was ich hören musste. Ich suche schon so lang nach etwas um draußen gut Techno zu hören. Da sind die Tiefbässe sehr wichtig. Habe jetzt gerade 2 für Lava's für zusammen 200€ geholt. Go Tribit

I'd say if u like bass and need a speaker that can go loud, this is probably the speaker for you. But I feel the bass is abit overpowering especially indoors, but it all can be tuned in software

I've been playing around with this speaker a bit and discovered some issues with firmware 1.4.3 and 1.4.8. 1) I noticed that the speaker starts to generate noise at very low volumes. At volumes between 5 and 20%, or when transitioning from a louder to a quieter section, a constant background noise can be heard. Example: Song: Pink Floyd - Echoes 2) When changing the volume (louder or quieter), the music playback stutters briefly, similar to a slight dropout. The same issue occurred when I changed the equalizer while a song was playing. 3) I also noticed that the tweeters crackle very slightly in some songs with high notes and vocals. It's really only very slightly noticeable. I used the Jazz EQ, and it's only noticeable at higher volumes (approx. 70-80%). I haven't tested it at volumes above 70%. Example: Song: Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies Extended Version 2017 4) In XBass/XBass Off mode, the mids and highs seem slightly muffled at any volume and sound a bit duller, not as crisp as with the Jazz EQ. The Jazz EQ sounds best with the preset EQs in firmware 1.4.8. 5) The speaker has a power-saving mode when the battery is below 40%. Volume and bass levels seem to change at 40%. ----------------------------------------------------------- Now impressions to firmware 1.5.4 to point 1) --> almost resolved with firmware 1.5.4 (only noticeable very minimally upon closer listening) to point 2) --> Almost fixed with firmware 1.5.4 (the buzzing has disappeared, but with battery levels below 50%, a faint crackling sound can now be heard when changing the volume, as well as sometimes when changing the equalizer during a song.) to point 3) --> no problem verified, seems fixed to point 4) --> in XBass/XBass Off mode, the sound changed completly. All predefined EQs are downscaled and dont sound good. Custom EQ sound is similar/same as before in relation to version 1.4.8 ----------------------------------------------------------- current conclusion: Otherwise the speaker plays well, the sound could be a bit more neutral and also could have a more room-filling sound across all levels. However, this is a high-level complaint. For the price, the speaker produces good sound (this isn't an audiophile statement) and is enjoyable to use. So, aside from a few teething issues, there's not much to complain about. I hope tribit will fix the issues soon.

Small impression Update for version 1.5.5 1) I could verify that the sound seems quieter than before with a custom equalizer. In older firmwares it was louder until 1.5.4. then the sound only of the preset /standard (xbass, rock, Jazz, etc...)  equalizer settings changed to a quieter sounding by this frmware. Now the sound of the custom equalizer seems also be quieter, same level as the presets equalizer. 2) new preset equalizer : Tradition Conclusion , better than 1.5.4 because it's extremely annoying when you've chosen a preset EQ and when you switch to custom your ears fly off because the volume was much higher there.

Tribit stormbox lava is a 5lb speaker that can be found for under $100. JBL Boombox 3 is 15lbs and refurbs will usually cost over $200. Both are good speakers for the beach but really different from each other.

For 150 your not going to find bass that you can really feel. I got the tribit stormbox lava for 90. And below 65 procent it has some serious bass. I am very impressed. I also have the tribit stormbox blast 2. That is a bass monster hahaha. Spend some more and get that speaker. Otherwis look at the zealot s95!! Very good price and awesome bass. Mine will arrive next week. I got it for 140. I Had a coupon on TEMU

I've been loving the new Tribit Stormbox Lava. Definitely sounds better than the Soundcore Boom 2 and has deeper bass.

So few days ago i finally got my hands on the new tribit stormbox lava. Ordered it from aliexpress using the earlybird code, making it a 120 dollar purchase. I had second thoughts about getting it after ordering it, but after a few days with it, i definitely think it was worth it. This speaker has it's upsides and downsides like every other speaker, some of it still can be fixed with softwate update if tribit are willing to do that. In terms of sound out of the box, it sounded very boosted, warm and kinda muddy. But that's where the eq comes to rescue. I'm still trying to figure out my own eq for it, but so far the best eq i found is from a guy named "dominik reviews" on youtube, where he left a link for 2 eq's on his comparison videos between the lava and other speakers. In terms of the speaker itself, i think that i can sound pretty nice using the correct eq's like the ones from dominik. The passive radiators are tuned very low, so they are not very sensitive to midbass, and they offer some deep 40 - 50 hz notes. Sometimes it can be pretty overpowering So i usually reduce the 80 hz band at low to medium levels. And yes, like most speakers it reduces bass pretty rapidly at high volumes, but we are already fimiliar with it after hearing the jbl xtreme 4. Other few downsides which are not as critic, the strap that comes with the speaker which feels a bit cheap and wobbly, and the welcome tones that sound kinda bad, which you can turn off through the app. My conclusion is mostly positive, this speakers earned it's place next to the boom 2, xtreme 4 and bose soundlink max, having advantages and disadvantages over them.

Indeed.. But it does have some cheapness to it when it comes to design and sound quality, but it delivers way more than it's price for sure!!

I picked up the Stormbox Lava (and Sony XG300) a couple of weeks back and reviewed both thoroughly. REVIEW: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Bluetooth\_Speakers/comments/1jpw9ex/sony\_xg300\_versus\_tribit\_stormbox\_lava\_love\_them/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bluetooth_Speakers/comments/1jpw9ex/sony_xg300_versus_tribit_stormbox_lava_love_them/) TL;DR: For $100, the Lava is a phenomenal value. I'm keeping it, even though my ecosystem is primarily WiFi and Apple TV/Sonos hybrid. I love my paired Sonos Move 2s, BTW, and have had few issues with the Sonos App.

I got my Lava last week and had no real expectations. This speaker is very good, especially for the $99 I paid AND had shipped to my front door. I'm pretty impressed. Here's the EQ I'm using. It started out as a rif on the speaker's default "Jazz" setting, but I've continued refining it to my taste. My [**current EQ...**](https://postimg.cc/347FvyVY)

I have owned a number of Tribit speakers over the last few years and they've gotten better and better over time. Currently, I have the Stormbox Micro 2s (pair, on my sailboat), and a Stormbox Lava, for use as an AUX-in portable amp for my EWI, and also for rocking out to dock parties when I don't want to grab my Brane Xs or Move 2s. The Lava's use case for me is just perfect, and I like the style and sound...after setting up a few different flavors of EQ for indoors and outdoors, and musical styles. Those Micro 2s, though? DUDE...I will buy a pair of Micro 3s the minute they come out. Those little fuççers are damned good for how I use them...sailing in all sorts of conditions in San Francisco.

For $100 you can pick up the new Tribit Stormbox Lava, and it punches way above its weight (and it is weighty!). I just got mine last week, and decided it’s a keeper. Heck, you can even strap it in to your back seat to keep it safe, and lock it in the trunk when parked.

I can personally recommend the Tribit Stormbox Lava, and also the UBoomX. I’ve owned both, but sent the UBoom back because it was just not my esthetic. The Lava has great low and mid bass, and you can EQ it (9-band I think) to tailor your sound. For $100, it has lots going for it. It isn’t small, though…but it can fit in a 🎒.

Feeling the bass is just Low Bass Rumble. And as per budget, there isn't one which is loud as well as feel bass. For $100, you can get Tribit Stormbox Lava which has that Low Bass Rumble but bcz of which it can't go super loud but still really good. And there are a lot of speakers for $100 who do go pretty loud but don't have the bass rumble. The Budget isn't reaching the product quality you want. So you have to make some compromises.

I know. The Tribit Lava is $130. But after the early bird discount is $100. It has better low Bass rumble than Boom 2 which is also at $100. There are many speakers with good bass. But there aren't many with that Low Bass Rumble

To anyone who is on the fence or considering a more expensive speaker...just wait until they are around $100 on Amazon, then order two. Run them in TWS, tweak the eq a bit with the app and you'll be astonished at what $200 can get you in terms of portable sound.  I am not a loud listener so I tweak the EQ in a smile curve with a bit more bass boost.  It somewhat acts like a loudness switch and makes music fun even at lower listening levels.  I love the fact that this speaker is tuned for lower bass, unlike the millions out there that focus on mid-bass punch instead.  I was planning an elaborate barn/garage system and this was a stopgap, but honestly I think I'll leave it alone and enjoy the Tribits.
