I consider my tribit x sound plus 2 to be quite smol. Best bass and best bang for buck speaker in today’s time according to me.

Tribit x sound plus 2 checks all the boxes and then some. Portable AF, its smol. Durability: it’s one of the only speakers in that size that doesn’t have exposed bass radiators like jbl, sony, uboom, etc. it is water proof for handling a splash. Also the best part is you can make it sound like any other brand’s sound signature that you prefer via the EQ option in its app. I use mine with aux mostly and sometimes via Bluetooth. It sounds equally good via both connections tho. It sounds like a proper hifi system is being played if you hide the speaker and ask someone lol. If you’re budget isn’t limited then you can also buy two to play in tandem, I am contemplating to do the same, just waiting for a sale/discount to buy a second one. The only problem is that it needs at least 40-50 hours of music playback initially to burn in and drivers to open up and sound as good as they now, also manual EQ sounds best, preset EQs provided in app sound pretty quite.

Yes and it should easily fit your budget. According to me it is the best sounding speaker under 100$ and it’s got app support which translates to equaliser, firmware updates, sound on off options, speaker auto off function. And aux capability,Bluetooth 5.3. Basically you get this and you’re set for a decade lol.

I’ve used it with aux a fee times so there’s obviously no latency with that. But 90% of the time I use it with Bluetooth and never faced any latency while watching movies or series with these connected to tv via Bluetooth.

In that size category I haven’t heard deeper bass than tribit stormbox flow or tribit x sound plus 2 while saving you some money. Both of them retail for around ₹6-7k. Also once they arrive, let them burn in for a month before you judge. The difference after burn in is night and day literally. Plus in they both support app connectivity in which you should drag each bar in equaliser to ‘+5’. Cheers !

I got the tribit x sound 2 and after a week of burn in it sounds better than eonderboom 2 upto 70% volume. That too only indoors. For louder volumes and overall better sound outdoors, wonderboom is more versatile.

2018-I used to think highly of UE brand and got a wonderboom 2 which I loved to the core. How loud it could get without any distortion at all. 2024 I got a tribit x sound plus 2 just because I wanted to try something different and it was on sale for just $41 and I found it pretty flat and boring sounding. Not cheap and tiny like Chinese speakers/brands but not better than wonderboom. I kept the speaker anyways, set an equaliser with all frequencies turned to ‘+5’ and used the speaker for a month. Even though I used to think speaker burn in period is a placebo and it’s just my ears getting used to its sound signature but nope the tribit speaker when once again compared to wonderboom 2 after a month or burn in it blew the wonderboom out of the water by miles ! It’s sound separation became crystal clear while the bass got bigger and deeper simultaneously making my wonderboom sound harsh in comparison now lol. So yes you can get better than UE for probably half the price. Cheers !

Tribit x sound plus 2 sounds great indoors. Sounds like a proper hifi system is playing at low volume. Very small in size and looks like beats pill in terms of form factor. Costs less and has companion app for features like manual eq, you can set sleep timer so that it can switch off while playing white noise/podcast, or you could keep it switched on 24x7 or let it switch off in 15 minutes if nothing is playing, firmware updates are easy via app, if you don’t feel like getting out of the cozy bed and speaker is far away you can switch it off via the app lol. Only issue is that it initially needs at least 30-40 hours of music play back as a burn in, post that it’s sound quality really shines ! I am contemplating to get a second one to play in tandem.

Tribit speakers actually sound like you’re playing a very big hifi speaker at low volume. Also there’s some discounts these days due to prime day sale. Tribit x sound plus 2 is the one I have and it sounds amazing for all the genres of music you mentioned. If that is available under 50$ then definitely go for it otherwise tribit stormbox Micro.

Go with this if it is available wherever you are. If unfortunately it isn’t then only the next best thing is tribit x sound plus 2 if you want stereo, stormbox if you want 360 sound and stormbox flow if you want good but mono sound. Cheers !

I have only heard motion 300 on youtube speaker comparison videos. I personally own two tribit x sound plus 2 speakers (yes I loved one of thos so much in terms of sound quality that I bought one more) so I can vouch for x sound plus 2 and I have suggested it to numerous people on this sub and they all loved it ! Also if you do end up buying it, let me know, I’ll share the best 3 equalisers (1-bass up, 2-balanced and 3-dialogue) for that particular speaker. Cheers !

So I got the speakers a few hours ago and after listening to it for around 1.5 hours I’ll say that my 3 year old wonderboom 2 which has apparently 17watts according to google, sounds much better and fuller than this ‘newer’ 30w speaker from tribit. I just called up amazon to initiate return as I’m dissatisfied and the sound and overall volume is wayyyy below my expectations. I thought I was upgrading from wonderboom but this is a true downgrade if I keep it. Alan Ross says he’s currently testing the new preset which I also heard on the speaker and it sounded lifeless just like most other presets because it seems the “new” drivers used aren’t more capable than the xsound go (the mini one) if not lesser tbh. Feels like they took cheaper drivers and forced DSP to drive them. The speaker sounds ok at 50% volume but below and above that it’s trash. Obvious bird’s ranking for this at 55 seems apt. I wonder where wonderboom 2 stands on their ranking because to me that sounds perfect for a small speaker.

Flip 6 should cost lesser than x sound plus lol. Tribit is giving better sound (like bose sound signature), more features like app connectivity, firmware updates, 9 band equaliser, sleep timer auto shut down, hardware eq button etc etc.if we ignore all these additional features and judge purely basis on sound even then tribit is far better. It sounds like a proper hifi system is playing. If someone would ask me which speaker would you take if both flip 6 and x sound plus 2 were free of cost, I’d pick up tribit any day. I can make my tribit sound like bose, jbl or however I want via different EQs. Contemplating to buy one more to play in tws mode.

All I know is that tribit x sound plus 2 sounds very quite and flat out of the box and also with preset equalisers provided by tribit. It’s sounds amazing in terms of bass and volume only post using custom eq. I’m not sure maxsound plus has an option to set a custom eq and all the other benefits like firmware updates, being able to set a timer to switch the speaker off or switch it off via the app or option to let the speaker stay on or auto off when nothing’s playing etc etc. basically all the features that come via tribit app connectivity, most importantly sound enhancement because I’m sure I can tune my x sound plus 2 to sound better than max sound plus any day via custom eq.

I’d recommend tribit x sound plus 2. This speaker will set you for at least a decade, while sounding phenomenal and saving some bucks too. It’s got a stereo sound and deep bass in a very small package, app support from which you can update firmware, set equaliser, toggle switch on switch off sounds, set timer for auto switch off, etc. or you can simply place it on a desk and play music via aux cable like I do. In future if you wish you can get one more to play music in tandem (that’s what I’m contemplating to do lol). The fact that you can make this speaker sound like bose, jbl,Marshall via eq, its that versatile.

If you can try a tribit x sound plus 2, it will resolve most of these issues. Source : I have it and switched off the “tones” altogether. The buttons on top are a little more prominent and EQ button even has 3 light colors to differentiate between which eq you’re using. Battery at zero, speaker will play music as soon as it’s plugged in. The sound is good from all directions even though it is a directional speaker. Aux cable doesn’t need to be removed for Bluetooth music playback. Back flap for ports is the easiest operable I’ve used yet (on sony and UE speakers it almost broke my nails & patience). Lastly firmware updates happen via tribit app not a laptop/cable etc. also EQ manoeuvring can get it to sound like Bose, JBL, Marshall or however you want !

My tribit x sound plus 2 has 30w of stereo(2 front facing speakers 15w each with a bass radiator in the middle and an additional bass radiator at the back). Also the wonderboom 2 I use has two speakers on each side and I could actually feel the left and right channels pushing separate sound effects while watching movies when connected to it. Even the tribit one when kept in front of you and playing dolby atmos stereo sound check passes it with flying colors.

Tribit x sound plus 2 fits the bill while sounding exactly like bose soundlink/flip 6 and costing 1/4th. Also it doesn’t have exposed bass radiator which means you won’t have to worry about bass radiators getting pushed in/ damages while travelling.

Forgot a few more things, the form factor is like a small soundbar and stereo separation is perfect! I would suggest whichever option you go with do check if the speaker is mono like flip 6 and soundlink or stereo so that when you’re sitting in front of the PC you’ll be able to hear left sounds on left and right ones towards right. Cheers !

So Id suggest you upgrade to the latest firmware and set your own eq by raising all of the frequency bars to “+5” and assign this eq as default for the hardware eq button as well. This eq brings out the volume and bass to its true potential like none of the presets provided by tribit do. Glad to se you got great sound while saving some money, cheers !

In addition to the speakers mentioned in the other comments, i can now confirm that the Tribit Xsound Plus 2 also has settings in the Tribit mobile app that can permanently disable all sounds (the speaker remembers the settings) ... I imagine all Tribit speakers that are supported by the Tribit mobile app can have sounds disabled. I ordered the Tribit as well for testing, mostly because it has a much longer battery life and a handy EQ switch button to quickly switch between modes. Also has a fresh new firmware but no idea if that makes it more neutral or not. This Tribit speaker looks and sounds pretty great so far. I like that the mini subwoofer is in the back, so it can be placed near a wall for added oomph without compromising the rest of the sound spectrum. I also ordered the Earfun UBoom L, Anker Soundcore Motion+, Anker Soundcore Boost -- yet to test

I've been using it for the past few days and I really like It sound wise, dont know about battery (i dont listen to music for such long periods of time anymore) but you should know I used a range of Tribit speakers. It started with the release of first version of xsound go I would not buy those again: The Stormbox (shitty battery life, sounds ok) And Stormbox Pro ( too much for my taste but is loud and sounds good). XSound Go was the deal, Maxsound Plus is also dope (heavy if you mean to keep it in your pocket for longer than an hour or two) So with all that in mind the speaker sits at a solid 9/10 sound wise compared to other speakers (I dislike the eq button)

I collect small bluetooth speakers. Over the years i keep trying new brands. I'm impressed with the Tribit XSound Plus 2 and even better for its great low price and 24H battery which there isn't many with that high battery. Clean sound and bass and the bass boost really thumps. It also has aux which is why I was looking around for a smaller speaker with aux because there isn't many besides the UBoom L which i also have but I also have a bunch of Soundcore like the Mini 3 and Motion 300 but theres no aux. I'm also looking to add the Tribit StormBox 2 which is another small speaker from them and it also has aux but it looks more durable and for travel and outdoor. From other brands those more durable and outdoor ones are made for travel and party uses are more bass focused and not as clean audio so have to compare but right now XSound Plus 2 I'm impressed.

I received my Tribit xsound plus 2 speaker today and this my first speaker and I don’t have any experience of Tribit maxsound plus Sood not know how good or bad this is from maxsound plus. I got it for 3,300 INR after the coupon code of early bird offer and for this price point it is stealer but still it is worth to buy if it is below 5,000 INR in India, I heard songs before and after the firmware update and I can clearly see the difference after the update surely it worth and it is loud too but below 50% volume you can hardly hear anything but still beyond the 50% it is surely one of the loudest speaker of its size and at 100% I didn’t experience any distortion also the bass is good. The real game changer is the app support and custom equalisation ability of the speaker the maxsound plus eq does a fine job and from it you can further customise the eq and fine tune it to your likings and I done mine and I have no issues. I would rate it 4 out of 5. If you can get it below 5000 INR it is worth a buy in my view. Thank you

I took your reccy mate, it's a really nice size and sounds great. What EQ settings are you using? I'm on firmware 2.5

Thanks Nathan, I think that's a deal breaker for me though! Cba to make sure something is always playing, and often my pc goes to sleep etc. Thanks though :)

Boom 2. I know you said you are not fond of the looks, but it definitely has more bass then the original Boom, is clearer, and around the same size. If size and weight ain’t a factor though, I would recommend the Boom plus 2 or Boom plus (Tribit Stormbox Blast as the best option)
