UE megaboom is pretty rugged, and the clip is a tripod screw with a loop Mine has been in the ocean and under streams with no problems I haven’t looked up if the interface changed to USB-C

I have 4 Megabooms, I played thru out my house, when they were new, now 10 years later, they will still connect to each other, but with crackling or static. I’ve updated the Software/Firmware so it’s not that. Sadly these BT Speakers have let me down.

Of the major portable speakers out there, I have found the UE Boom series to sound the best sound quality. And sonos makes a pretty good one too. Is that what you are looking for, or do you want actual speakers? How about a used set of small pwered speakers like Audioengine A2's set up in the bathroom? I don't think anything battery powered will have a high enough quality playback to where bluetooth vs. wired will make a noticeable difference...

I see...some do have AUX inputs, but you may need to find an older model....which would be cheaper anyways. I remember the original UE Boom and Megaboom had AUX inputs. I bet there's one on FB Market.... The Sonos Roam still has aux input, but not sure if your budget fits that. My friend has the first generation. Sounds great, but bass heavy like all other sonos speakers. Just thought of something...I have an old Riva Turbo X I was going to have recycled. The bluetooth is too old to be useful and the battery only lasts an hour or two. But it sounds good and has AUX input. You can just have it, if you cover shipping cost...DM me if interested

I still have my original MegaBoom and works great. At one point I thought the speaker was going bad, but it was the podcast app I was using that enabled an optional “loud mode” type setting that when I disabled, I was happy to hear my speaker work great again. I’m not sure when I bought mine but I know it was the original one. A while later I bought a two pack of their smaller WonderBoom(?) from Costco for super cheap. It sounds basically better than my Apple HomePod Mini’s and convenient size for vacations. It’s telling when even a battery powered Bluetooth speaker can last many years. Idk about UE’s other products but I’ll default there before JBL for sure.

Hi everyone, I currently have a wonderboom first gen that is awesome and still functioning fine. Mainly used as the indoor mini speaker and shower speaker. I also have a first gen megaboom that is somewhat broken (half of it works the bottom half has no sound or bass, and the battery life is dead) I’m searching for a new outdoor speaker and I’ve come across 2 options. Megaboom 4 or Everboom. I’m open to other brands other than Ultimate Ears, but not entirely sold on JBL or Bose yet since I love the durability of the UE, and since I have some friends with JBL’s and they say the wonderboom sounds better. Any input? Thanks in advance 🙏

Right? The Megaboom OG was ahead of its time. Loved the sound and bass. I watched a couple YouTube videos on the new Megaboom and it had a microusb. Did I see the old version?

I had the original megaboom. It’s lasted me 9 years and finally died this past summer. It was great, battery lasted 15 -20 hours even in the later years. Speaker has floated down rivers, dropped, rolled down mountains, left outside in sub zero temps. I can’t speak on their new stuff but their original megaboom is a tank.
