Haha, I am a man but I am a dain and I have used a Helsinki with the long strap for the past decade now. I don’t get why people dislike it, it is perfect to bring on a bike ride or walk etc. I will add although it is a dated speaker I only use on occasion now the materials used, fabrics, and leather are of the quality of very nice handbags and jewelry. If they included a user replaceable battery and I wasn’t risking damaging it to replace its battery. I would probably still be using it as much as when I first got it 10 years ago now.

My Helsinki sits as a shelf ordiment now due to deep bass and the battery is aging. Really wish it was tuned for deeper bass but of any Bluetooth speakers it’s overall fedility is unmatched. My beats pill gets more playtime recently because it’s 1/3 the size and plays deeper bass lol. But the helsinkis design is beautiful internally and it is such a shame vifa got bought out because their Bluetooth speakers were ok but their supper high end hifi driver units were and are some of the best that were ever made. Scanspeak and dynaudio are some of the few left making and improving on driver technology

Is this why he deleted his channel on YouTube, him and Alan Ross were the only channels worth watching? I did have to throw away a lot of his shit opinions. He kept comparing $100-200 speakers to the Vifa Helsinki. Like WTF are you doing that is a $500 speaker and it has no bass. At least do apples to apples comparisons but he always refused.

No he isn't right. If someone asks you which is better you can answer and he knows which is better, but refuses because he has the best in his mind. Which is ignorance. I loved his channel before he got bitter and deleted it, but he would always make love to Vifa Helsiniki. We get it a great speaker, but you are comparing it to a $100-200 speaker. Do better testing.

Sad to see Oluv turn into a baby and delete his YouTube channel. I did value some of his opinions when he wasn't fucking the Vifa Helsiniki. Like we get it, but this is a $100 speaker, STFU about Vifa on this one.

This is the part I never understood. He would review a speaker known for bass, ignore the bass and again compare it to a speaker with no bass like the Vifa Helsiniki. I did value his opinion when not pushing a speaker in vastly differing price ranges. I guess now is time to move on because he turned into a child and deleted his YouTube. Can't find it in my subs anymore.

Not just that he devalued everything else, including bass, which is nonsense. I did value parts of his opinion when he was objective.

Hard to demo. But Vifa Helsinki is absolutely amazing and awesome. If one is interested exclusively in sound top quality this is unbeatable

Six, but used to be seven. Out of those 6 only 3 work now. * -Denon Envaya dsb250 (great deep bass and stereo separation, not so good vocals and highs) * -Vifa Helsinki (absolute beast, clean af, lacks deep bass) * -Uboom L (insane price to performance ratio, good tuning with crap hardware) * -Soundcore Motion + (I lost it...) * -Dockin D Fine (Sadly broke) * -Doss Soundbox XL (Sounded shit. Absolute dog poop speaker, glad it broke) * -Mi Speaker (was extremely good, sadly my friend dropped it and it broke)

Totally agree with you. I have access to the Vifa app that lets you change the sound modes and with late night mode or boosted mode the speaker opens up, but throws off the tuning somewhat so I keep it in neutral for the most part. However if you look at my post in this sub you can see that Vifa is working on a new generation of these speakers (Helsinki 2.0, Oslo 2.0 and copenhagen 3.0). I have high hopes for the Oslo 2.0 because the 1.0 is said to be much better in the low frequencies than the Helsinki (and overall has a bigger punch and sounds to it). Now with proper app support I am expecting some eq possibilities. Along with a confirmed tws stereo pairing they are expected to make some serious sound in a pair :). Let's pray our chinese friends don't plan to change the sound signature. If they drop in the future, I will make a review on this sub.

It's got a really good tone but a narrow soundstage to my ears

I have an old Vifa Helsinki, it's tuned really well with late night tuning ( have to use a bootleg app because the official app no longer supports it). If you're sat in front of it though it sounds very boxed in with narrow sound stage.

If you do get the tribit sormbox micro make sure to get v2, the older one doesn't have app support (eq) and had a much smaller battery. Personally for a general use speaker I'd definitely get something bigger. My most used speaker amongst some pretty expensive ones is soundcore motion boom. Sounds good especially with all eq, quite cheap, rigid handle makes all the difference to carry around room to room. I have a Vifa Helsinki which sounds more refined but never really use it because a strap/soft handle is just impractical. As an aside the Vifa also sounds very boxed in. Sounds like the Earfun uboom X would be a better speaker choice that is similar in form factor to the motion boom (newer version of the boom have apparently spoiled the sound with most recent firmware). Personally I'd probably go for that if I was buying one now on your budget. Decent speakers of that size sound so much better than small speakers, unless you really want the small size I'd avoid them for general use for music.
