I tried a couple of portable monitors and most of them are honestly terrible. Really poor gamut and accuracy. The last one I got was a recommendation from Wire Cutter or somewhere like that and it's decent. Not as good as my high end desktop monitors but reasonably accurate. It was Arzopa 16.1" 144Hz from Amazon. There are some pretty good ones but they are more than double what you're looking to spend. The one I mention is pretty darn decent and less than your price.

Arzopa 144hz 16inch monitor. It’s clutch cuz I can fit this monitor + ally x + dock + keyboard/mouse easily in a 16inch laptop bag. Can set up a mobile desktop PC wherever I want. Eventually going to add a OneXGPU for better performance. I also work remote and plan to use the monitor as a mobile work station as well which more than justifies the $100 spent on it. As someone that can only play FPS on keyboard mouse, I have to give myself that option in a handheld 🤷‍♂️

Why take 2k! 1080p is more than enough for the rog ally. 120-144hz 1080p freesync premium... 2k is useless on the rog. Imagine upscaling 720p or 900p to 2k... It will be horrible. And 1080p on 2k is blurry and ugly.  I use an arzopa z1fc, the problem is that some units do not have freesync in the menu while CRU confirms freesync.. and others have the freesync menu

I use the Arzopa 16.1" 144hz portable monitor as my daily at home and if I take it to go. Has been great, uses mini-HDMI and 2 x USD-C 3.1. It's been great but I run into an issue relating to power delivery when running at high brightness and high refresh rate but I think it's something relating to my motherboard (BD790i SE) rather than the monitor. Still recommend!

Ito rin pinagpipilian ko before. I bought Arzopa Z1FC, 144Hz. The reason is yung Color gamut or sRGB, 100% si Arzopa, meaning complete color sya unlike sa 72% or lower na washout na yung ibang color. Gusto ko rin yung backstand nya which is very sturdy. No problem naman connecting it to my company laptop (USB C connection only, no need for power adapter), plug and play lang. Compatible din sa Samsung dex. And since complete color sya, na eenjoy ko pag watch ng movie pag dayoff ko. Nabili ko sakin sa tiktok shop, slightly lowered ang price dun around 5,500

Hi, I just bought the Z1FC, which has the same inputs. Just to make sure, you can run a power cord from the wall into the monitor, then another USBC-USBC cord to the deck, and it will charge both the monitor AND Steamdeck using pass through? If this is the case I assume you could run both indefinitely?

I have an Arzopa one (I'm using it right now while commenting your post) 1920x1080 @ 144 hz & 16 inches Paid something like 64 € .......... The best thing I ever got from Aliexpress, try to look for that brand they have different models and size or just take a look to reviews on youtube.

Got this panel too, mostly to use with my other laptop but tried with the Ally X. Took me awhile, and a lot of cables, to get this to work with the Ally X. Plugging in a single USB C cable didn't work (as explained earlier). Tried to plug in USB into a power brick & USB-C into Ally X and no luck. Finally, I ended up using a USB-C hub that has HDMI output to get this to work. Kludgy but works. Good screen quality but speakers suck, but just changed sound output to Ally X. What's weird but my laptop I can just use a single USB C cord and it works perfectly. Not sure why the laptop works with a single cord while the Ally X takes a hub plus two cables.

For the review that nobody asked for... below is my pro & cons to of two portable monitors. I needed a portable monitor for a non-gaming reason and bought two candidates and returned the other. I didn't buy it just for the Ally X but it's nice to have. Figured that this may help anybody who may be considering two cheap'ish portable monitors. I returned the Arzopa and kept the Uperfect.

I plan on using the Ally as a laptop replacement so I got a monitor and figured I'd say how it goes on the plane. With 0 tweaks and turbo mode I was able to get a solid hour thirty minutes of 60fps gameplay. Just enough for my flight. This is without any charging outlet, and required a 2 cable solution. USB c for power from the X to the monitor, and a USB c hub connected with hdmi to hdmi. This monitor is currently on sale on amazon as well. Quality is really good imo. It's 1080p ips so it's not going to blow your mind but your games will look good. Higher demanding games like fallen order won't look at good on a bigger screen but less demanding games you can run on higher levels will look solid.

I run a UM790pro and 16in arzopa, 1080p, 144hz monitor. Minipc powers/displays to a monitor via a usb-c. Very convenient and great for a travel setup. The frame gen of the 780m helps push refresh rate higher in games like cyberpunk for example.

I have the B118 model (its like the K118, but with higher max brightness and lower response rate), and it works well for gaming. The 1600p resolution on a larger 18" display looks good. Unless you need the touchscreen or a smaller size monitor, I would go for the K118/B118 model. Btw, if you are going to travel frequently with the PC system, the larger 18" display may be a little more challenging to fit in a backpack. In such situations, you might look at 15.6" or 16" displays instead. Personally I use the B118 as a desktop display (its a 2nd monitor for one of my PCs)... while my travel SFF setup uses a 16" Arzopa 1080p 144Hz portable monitor (fits into my backpack, and the system can maintain higher fps at 1080p too).

Yeah, the display quality and reliability can differ greatly between various models from the different brands. I've ordered really low quality displays from random aliexpress brands which had poor colors too, had to go through some trial and error to get the good ones. Sometimes it's about luck too... just whether you receive a good or bad lemon unit. I'm currently using an Arzopa 16" 1080p 144hz (Z1FC) portable monitor for my travel SFF PC setup and its been working well for the past 6+ months... good vibrant colors and fast response rate for gaming, no issues so far. I also have a Uperfect 18" 2K/1600p 144hz (B118) as a secondary display for my desktop system, and it works well too.

I've had a mix of experiences with Uperfect monitors... they are generally good monitors and cheap, but due to the wide range of models, the listed specs from online resellers tend to be either outdated or for a different model (many of them just cut and paste the info). So you have to check very clearly the exact model and specs (make sure to check the purchased reviews with photos to verify the correct models), before ordering. That being said, out of the 3 Uperfect monitors I have ordered so far, 2 were good while 1 was not good. The not good one was due to the reseller on Amazon listing it as 100% sRGB, but turns out it was an older model with 72% sRGB, so it was an issue with the reseller posting the wrong listed specs. Luckily I was able to return and refund it. The 2 good ones I got were the K118 and B118 models (18", 2K,144hz, 100% DCI-P3). They worked nicely with bright vibrant colors, and I've been using them with various setups for the past year. Another brand I had good experience with is Arzopa... I am currently using the Z1FC model (16", 1080p, 144hz, 100% sRGB) for my travel setup, as it is compact enough to fit in my backpack along with the SFF case. I got it a while back on flash choice sale from Aliexpress for only $70. These brands and monitors can go for crazy low prices during flash sales, so do keep a look out for good deals. Some of the factors which probably explains their low prices, is the panels usually aren't the latest and greatest tech (but still good enough), less features, limited warranty support since they only have online presence, and they don't need to spend millions on advertising, hence the cheaper prices. As always, when buying cheaper products, it's a risk you have to take, it can be good or bad depending on your luck. It's a compromise when buying items which are 3-4x cheaper when compared to the big brand models. The usual buyer mentality is that even if it breaks after a year, just buy another one, since it's cheap. 😄

But what made you keep it? I have the Arzopa Z1FC and the Uperfect you have, and the Arzopa with HDR enabled has much better picture quality. I do miss it's not 2K but at this moment, I'm strugging wether to keep FHD with better picture quality or 2K with a bit worse picture quality. Really it's too noticeable. I have a Mac Book Pro and it really comes much close in colors than the Uperfect.

Have you decided yourself yet? Seems to me that Arzopa has better quality. But they have very few options and non of the too-good-to-be-true products like the other brands. I mean other brands have those very tempting products like 2.5 K, 144 Hz touchscreen portable monitor. But the horror stories in some reviews about defective units from these brands are worrying.

I love gaming on the deck directly, but for longer sessions this larger display and the PS4 controller are essential for my hand comfort. At some point, i got the xr glasses it was great for media, but it was not so good for games due to the corner blurryness . Now ingot the arzopa screen with 144 hz, i think. It is a great device with good building quality and power through (charger to display and from display to ally). So far, only the speakers are a bit meh. If i had a second chance again, i would stick with the display. I love my ally for it's compatibility and if i need something bigger, i go with the display. When im in the office, i just plug it into the display of my desk. When i travel and im in a lounge or a big flight, i use my display . Some games are playing better with keyboard and mouse and others with the controller.

I connected my new gaming monitor to my PS5 and played a little Final Fantasy Rebirth. Graphics look amazing on this portable monitor.

I've tried it and it doesn't have enough power delivery. You need to power it up using power brick for it to work best.

Arzopa makes great portable monitors. Lightweight, thin, good build quality. I got the 1080p for my deck and used for long time until I upgraded my gaming laptop.

personally, I choose Arzopa and I am using it. If you just watch videos and do simple work daily, both brands of portable monitors would meet your needs. If you have any more professional needs, such as gaming/image editing/video editing/coding etc., or have such professional needs in the future, surely choose a more professional portable screen brand: Arzopa, that is a professional portable monitor brand. in appreance, arzopa's products look simple, elegant and fashionable, if you take it on the go, it suits for all style outfit.

I got an Arzopa monitor on Amazon for about $65 and it works great. I’m not sure on the display specs as I use my MacBook for visual editing/graphics and the second for email/text.

I have an arzopa I think it’s called. I got it as a budget test to see if I would use it and could justify the ASUS price. I never needed to upgrade as it actually works very well even for gaming albeit at 60fps max. I’m normally quite fussy about my parts and will happily spend big but I will be honest - I think this market is full of frauds and overpriced kit.

Ano mas mahal compared kay Arzopa? KAsi mukang from the same factory lang naman sila then nilalagyan na lang ng company brandings. dun ka na lang sa mas mura. I got the Arzopa btw. Got it 3 days ago and no issues so far. For rto use lang if maubusan ng desk na may external montor.

I had ASUS MB16ACE for couple months, and the screen is cracked when I put it in a suitcase. Now I am using ARZOPA, cheaper, own stand, and bigger screen 17.3''. Honestly, I adjust the brightness on14/100 for an indoor setting and it is already bright enough for me. Same for ASUS, I dont see the brightness would be an issue, can work well both indoor and outdoor. The only difference I found is the ASUS i used had audio. But I enjoyed my laptop Dolby audio, so i dont mind that no audio with ARZOPA.

I also have an Arzopa portable monitor, but I have it to the side in portrait mode. It's mounted with some brackets I 3D printed to attach it directly to the side of my ultrawide. Works like a charm.

I absolutely hate using my laptop, so I have a home set-up where I use two big monitors instead. I bought a portable Arzopa monitor (on Amazon) for times when I am traveling because the only thing I can’t stand more than a laptop screen is *one* screen. It’s a game changer for me, makes the laptop tolerable when I have no other option. I only spent $60 on it, have had it for over a year now and no complaints.

If I place it directly on the side of the case it’s a perfect fit but I wanted a bit of airflow.

I got the same one with a Ivanky dock but every time I plug it in both screens on my monitor and ally go black. Are you using a 100w block? Cause I'm using the power brick that came with the rog ally. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Also are you getting 30w?
