I doubt you'll notice much difference on the refresh rate. The z3fc has higher resolution too though I believe. Most games on my Ally, I wouldn't push beyond 1080p anyway though for performance, so I feel like z1fc is more appropriate

I just returned arzopa, do not buy it. It's clearly not meant for desktops because it worked fine with my Mac but as soon as I tried to use it was my PC it was constantly showing no signal. I tried every combination of cable that would work with this thing and nothing ever happened.

As a followup to [my remote tech work packing list](https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/comments/1rp2ob8/indefinite_remote_tech_work_gr1_26l/), here's what the setup looks like unpacked and in use: The laptop is a Macbook Pro 16". I charge it via USB-C with a Ugreen Nexode Pro 65W and have it raised up on a Roost V3 stand. The portable monitor is an Arzopa Z3FC 16" resting on the Macbook's keyboard. I have it rotated 180 degrees so that I can more easily run the USB-C cable under the back of it, elevating it from the keyboard enough to avoid heating up anything sensitive. Since I lose access to the Macbook's keyboard and trackpad with this setup, I use a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. I used to pack more ergonomic alternatives but these are so flat that they disappear in my GR1's internal device sleeve.

I used an iPad Pro in Sidecar mode for years and it worked great. If you already have an iPad and want to use it as an iPad in addition to Sidecar duty then definitely go that route. I ended up consolidating devices and ditched the iPad. In direct comparison, a dedicated portable monitor will offer a larger screen for less packed weight and at a much lower price.

It’s not especially bright and the coating isn’t ideal for outdoor or overhead light, but it was the thinnest and lightest 16” screen I could find for the money. I think it’s a great buy at the moment but I’ll happily replace it once portable OLEDs are more widely avallable.

used the arzopa z3fc with my m4 mini and it worked fine but had one weird quirk - power delivery over usb-c was finicky. if you want something that just works, [ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC](https://featherab.com/shopit?search_keywords=ASUS+ZenScreen+MB16AC+portable+monitor) or [LG Gram Portable](https://featherab.com/shopit?search_keywords=LG+Gram+portable+monitor) are safer bets. the arzopa's 180hz is overkill for travel anyway - you're not gaming on a mac mini in a hotel room. i'd grab the asus personally, better build quality and fewer driver headaches.

Picked this up on sale last month for $75. I wanted a monitor for editing video. Been happy so far. 2.5K 180 Hz, has VRR. There's glare in the photo but it's matte and looks great in person. Comes with a pouch and 3 cables (c2c, c2c /w 90 degree end, mini to reg HDMI) Looks like price went up but here's the link. https://a.co/d/bFXrcLj

The monitor just works. Never had any issues like flickering or any drop in performance Mind you I'm not using a dock for use with other peripherals like hard drives, etc. I could see needing more power for that but haven't had the opportunity to try

Correction* it has Freesync. So yes and no? I just now learned they're not exactly the same. I've been using it since November and haven't had any screen tearing or other issues. Though I wouldn't pay for it at it's current price on Amazon. Happy with it at the $75 I paid lol

I bought the same monitor to do kovaaks during lunch break but it ended up being too much of a hassle, lol. Good panel for the price, though!

The trick is to get a magnet stronger and wider the ones you see on mobile phones. And also to get a similar size ferrous metal backplate with 3m (super easy to find also) for the monitor itself. I also have the arzopa z3fc. Also it's fun to build
