If you think you need a keyboard you really need a better laptop. Bluetooth mouse with no dongle. I use an Asus M168b as a second monitor - data and power over the same USB cable. Charge cord for phone. AC and auto/air power for the laptop. I have other gear for my road gear that don't apply to most people: GPS, AIS, USB fan, USB/WiFi hard drive, USB rechargeable pen light, satellite tracker, two sets of AirPods with cords, waterproof USB endoscope that all plug into a *powered* USB hub. Adapters and inverter so I can plug into 117VAC 60 Hz, 220VAC 50 Hz, and 12VDC anywhere in the world. Definitely get a triplex power adapter for places you may have to share limited power outlets.

My experience is quite different than yours OP u/themotarfoker. I have a Lenovo T450 and an Asus MB168b. The sleeve it comes with is supposed to be a stand but didn't work well so I have a little custom stand. The display sits on top of my laptop in my laptop bag. I'm a yacht delivery skipper and my gear is subject to a lot more abuse than that of most people. No problems after six or eight years. Laptop screen and portable isn't the same as two huge monitors but it's a huge efficiency improvement over just the laptop screen.

they're a dime a dozen, but really I think any of those chinese 15.6" monitors work fine and dandy - I ended up getting two, a ARZOPA portable monitor and then an ASUS ZenScreen 15.6" I prefer the ARZOPA over the Asus. ARZOPA (or any of those crazy sounding companies) have usb-c and hdmi input, which is a plus. Other things I bought that I found kinda useful: \- Portable monitor stand: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2YCT3V7?ref=fed\_asin\_title](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2YCT3V7?ref=fed_asin_title) \- Super portable laptop stand: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2WMTWTD?ref=fed\_asin\_title](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2WMTWTD?ref=fed_asin_title) The ASUS I thought was gonna be handy with the threaded 1/4-20 on the back to mount with tripods and stuff, but it doesn't work since the thread mount is so shallow that the monitor just spins on most mounts/not deep enough to "lock in" unless you have the ability to shorten the thread length (like on a cold shoe mount or something).
