Mine has a built in battery and it last around 6 hours on 50% brightness.

I bought an asus zenscreen 15.6 inch portable monitor and it's made working so much more enjoyable. I used to buy one at each location but it's just annoying especially in more remote locations. Super happy with my purchase.

they're a dime a dozen, but really I think any of those chinese 15.6" monitors work fine and dandy - I ended up getting two, a ARZOPA portable monitor and then an ASUS ZenScreen 15.6" I prefer the ARZOPA over the Asus. ARZOPA (or any of those crazy sounding companies) have usb-c and hdmi input, which is a plus. That's what I have, and I love it, and I spent probably 2 months traveling/living out of hotels this year between work and pleasure. The portable travel monitor travels super well, is a great size (I have the 15" one), and is very user friendly. I also travel with a bluetooth Logitech mouse that is like a decade old, but gets the job done and I prefer having on to using the trackpad on a laptop.

I bought a cheap ASUS zenscreen 1080p for about $150, and it's worked great. Image quality isn't beautiful or anything but it's fine for coding. If you're in video or photo I wouldn't recommend. I also use my ipad pro sometimes, but probably will leave the ipad pro home on the next trip -- the ipad with a cover and keyboard are a lot of weight. I think the asus zenscreen is quite a bit lighter, and it's a much bigger screen than the ipad.

Yeah, they're called portable monitors. They are usually USB-C powered, 1080p, and 14-17". Pretty easy to find, but save yourself some time and just look into the Asus Zen screen line.

Portable monitors are "low quality" if you're, idk, a photographer or video editor that needs high quality color grading. But if your job is answering emails and creating spreadsheets, the difference won't be decipherable. As to fragility.. my current monitor I used on a motorcycle tour, and 9 months living out of a backpack at this point. I think it's holding up fine. But yeah, I mean, what does "expensive" mean and what does "low quality" mean and what does "fragile" mean for you?

I got a zenscreen from asus. They have many sizes, plug and play 1 usb-C to usb-c cable.

I use a 15" portable Asus USB monitor on my Studio as the third monitor. Run FCP in the 2 desktop monitors. The USB for anything else. Works great.

It's a 4 year old Asus USB A. The cable came with it and it's not HDMI at the other end (Or it is HDMI, just with different interface. ) It was not expensive and it super versatile. I also use it on MacBook Pro and a HP Windows laptop. Great investment as it still fits is a backpack along with whatever laptop. It's probably not what you want for gaming. But it's a GREAT accessory monitor. Unfortunately I can't give you exact model number today as I just moved yesterday and it's packed away at the moment. Also it's old enough I'm sure that exact model number isn't the same anymore. But don't overthink it. Just find one that says "works on Mac". The Studio will handle it just fine.

Follow up. ASUS no longer makes a USB A to micro HDMI. They use USB C with Display capability to their Micro HDMI port. The Mac Studio's USB C on the back handle this fine. They are display port capable. So yes, Asus Zenscreen Portable should be fine on your Studio. (Note it's now a touch screen as well. So undoubtedly more money than non-touch monitor) But shop around. It's not rare or complicated.

I used an ASUS ZenScreen for two years until it got broken thanks to the dumb security checks at a Vietnamese airport. Very good screen, recommend it, got a newer model after this one.

I can't recommend a specific one personally, but I would just recommend you get one that connects via HDMI, and not USB-C, as sometimes USB-C monitors require specific drivers which don't work with Linux. I have an ASUS Zenscreen for example that requires the DisplayLink software to run, which isn't compatible with Linux devices.

I have one of these. 100% recommend. Great viewing angles and no fuss. If I bought it again I would try to get one 16:10. Didn’t realize how much 16:9 bothers me. But I use it vertically anyway.

Asus Zenscreen is what I use

I use the Asus Zen Screen and it's been excellent. The first one that I got was a dud, wouldn't work over usb-c with the cable provided, but I returned it immediately and have had no issues with the replacement.

ASUS ZenScreen, Keychron Q1, Dell K512D. Then again, I don't carry much with me. If you're looking for lighter monitors, the Sony makes some lightweight ones like the Vaio Vision+. I could certainly lose a lot of weight with a different keyboard as well. This thing is about 1-2kg. If you're not picky with it, Logitech makes some nice, lightweight keebs. As for the mouse, I've been using this for at least 10 years (for gaming and professional use) and it's still running strong. Didn't really feel the need to replace it, and it's not heavy at all.

I'm a bit more bougie and have an Asus zenscreen I use for my PIs, but I would definitely buy this bundle if I was getting one for someone else. 

Using a zen screen right now i agree. The thing is basically a tablet you plug into your laptop with no issue
