I have no gripes with this guy, which I've been using for years: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FNVF8DF?ref\_=ppx\_hzsearch\_conn\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title\_1&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FNVF8DF?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1)
I have an ASUS 156b portable display. It lives on my desk except when I am traveling for field work or sometimes (about once a month) relocate to my basement lab for a day. If I have a long document (say 50 pages) to read I may lay on my bed and read on my phone until my arms get tired and I move back to my desk. When I'm working my usual tasks, I'm immersed in the work. Location doesn't really matter. Portable display is on left in picture. https://preview.redd.it/dl6xygbmjd3g1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fc7167f8510f321436cd5c3c123a2412466126f
I use it all days every days for code!
I have a 15inch m4 macbook air and i use my old asus zenscreen 15inch. It's now my secondary monitor even at home and i keep my macbook docked. At coffees i have the screen over my laptop screen to take less space on a overly expansive stand lol ( FLEXSTA ). At work i have them side by side with my laptop on a roost stand. At home i have it rotated 90degree next to my studio display
I purchased one of the Asus Zenscreen 15” a year or so ago. Brilliant and came with a pouch and USB-C cable.
Asus ZenScreen 13 or 15, 13 is super light, 1 cable (powered by USBC) Quality isn’t great - not for gaming but prioritize which content you want on your laptop and which can be on the secondary.
+1 love my Zenscreen
they're a dime a dozen, but really I think any of those chinese 15.6" monitors work fine and dandy - I ended up getting two, a ARZOPA portable monitor and then an ASUS ZenScreen 15.6" I prefer the ARZOPA over the Asus. ARZOPA (or any of those crazy sounding companies) have usb-c and hdmi input, which is a plus. Other things I bought that I found kinda useful: \- Portable monitor stand: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2YCT3V7?ref=fed\_asin\_title](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2YCT3V7?ref=fed_asin_title) \- Super portable laptop stand: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2WMTWTD?ref=fed\_asin\_title](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2WMTWTD?ref=fed_asin_title) The ASUS I thought was gonna be handy with the threaded 1/4-20 on the back to mount with tripods and stuff, but it doesn't work since the thread mount is so shallow that the monitor just spins on most mounts/not deep enough to "lock in" unless you have the ability to shorten the thread length (like on a cold shoe mount or something).
Asus ZenScreen. I'm selling mine if you happen to be in New York (I went up to an 18"), although it's LED and 1080. No reason why you'd need 4k resolution on a 16".
I love mine, but recently I found out it won't play full HD content from one particular platform because it isn't HDCP compliant. A big blow. There is no HDMI, just a USB Micro B. Fine for YouTube, Netflix and Amazon but for this one platform - Stan (in Australia) - it just won't. I have an Asus ZenScreen but not a high-end one, and I got it long before Stan acquired the English Premier League (my sole reason for having the subscription!!). Perfect for everything else, just not this. So now I need to buy a new one with HDMI. I've gone for an ARZOPA A1. Arrives tomorrow. Just something to consider when checking the specs..
