KYY - Portable Monitor 15.6inch

I picked up one of these [https://a.co/d/0rOjU4e](https://a.co/d/0rOjU4e) on a fire sale. These are all over with various brand labels, but they all seem to be the same. It's fine! I would have been disappointed at the MSRP, at the current price it's perfectly fine.

I use [this one](https://a.co/d/9DPrMlK) and have had no problems. Are you sure the monitor doesn’t have ridiculous power requirements? And are you sure you’re using quality 4.0 usb c cables?

Yes — I plug only one TB3 cable (don’t need the monitor’s power cord) into the 2nd slot in my M1 MBA, while charging my MBA with the 1st port…I’ve used the KYY (handful of times) just with the MBA battery (not charging the MBA simultaneously). The KYY fits perfectly in my backpack and comes with a folding cover/stand.

I have the AMZN 15.6" portable (KYY brand) that I use as a 2nd monitor for my M1 MBA -- it's powered by the MBA... Are the Mini ports powered?

If you are on a budget I got a KYY 15.6 inch portable monitor. It was $70 on amazon and has 2 powered usbc ports so you can use your steam power adapter on the monitor and run a usb c cord (included with monitor) to the deck for power to deck and video to monitor. If you're looking for a home setup, I would honestly just get a real monitor (and a dock) for home use. Having the screen real estate of a 27"+ screen at the right height, directly in front of you, is irreplaceable. For travel, I pack a small [USB-C portable monitor](https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Monitor-15-6inch-Computer-Protector/dp/B088D8JG3L?sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1), but honestly don't really use it all that much. I prefer the separate monitor over the extender so that I can adjust it's location to suit my needs. Also good for swinging it around and presenting it to someone else in the room. Also also, doesn't put physical strain on the actual laptop.

I have something like that. I got a KYY portable monitor (15.6") and I use it as a third monitor for YouTube videos while I work. That type of monitor are cheap now, toy can find them from 55USD onwards and the quality is nice. I also use it when I need to work somewhere else or I got a power outage, I just plug the power cord directly to my laptop.

And surprisingly cheep, for like $100 you can get a super thin, light, bright, power pass through full HD high contrast second display. I’m hybrid and I keep one in my work bag it’s so convenient

Totally this. This Pi monitor also doesn't support DP over USB-C. I've got a [cheap (and really nice) display](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BKKLV9HY) that gets it power AND video over USB-C. Works with modern Macs and PCs that support this. One cable is all that is necessary for these devices. Also has a Mini HDMI for legacy devices.
