I have an LG Gram: LG gram +View 16 Inch Portable WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS Monitor, 16:10 Aspect Ratio, DCI-P3 99% Color, USB-C Connectivity, Landscape & Portrait Orientation, with Folio Cover/Stand (16MQ70.ADSU1 Not sure if that exact model is still available and it was kind of pricey but it's been really great. Super light, thin and connects through with a single USB-C cable so there is no power cord or adapter needed.
r/workfromhome • Portable Monitors Advice ->I have [this one](https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-Electronics-Portable-Monitor-16-inch/dp/B09XMSQS8B?crid=1QSS1LZB3M6W1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.n31IDyY5aUzRBzEsxEL7C0F8n01SUxa48eqlu1eSUMeLGPoIT7p3znoNuutk7ocAbcnrGvNusgtIJfPkPtMr115_mJabkexGokRd54zcgKI.VYfiuG7tvC4iWe1Gu4Zjut4STh95sxVlWyQxagX8bNs&dib_tag=se&keywords=lg+16mq70&qid=1745920793&sprefix=lg+16mq70%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-4). It's very lightweight, good quality, and pairs well with my MacBook Pro.
r/digitalnomad • Lightweight portable monitor recommendations please ->I tried some monitors: Arzopa (15,6"), Zenscreen MB16ACV (15,6") and LG 16MR70 (16"). Arzopa was an immediate no for me. Quality was quite poor. Color was quite different compared to the Macbook and it had a screen that makes it hard to see when there is natural light around. Zenscreen was quite good. Color was quite good but still can see a bit of difference. It has 15,6" and proportion is 16:9 so there is some difference there, because MacBook has a proportion of 16:10. I liked that it was compatible with tripod and it had a cover. LG was the best by far. It's also much more expensive. Color is practically the same than the Macbook. Sometimes I'm not sure which one is better. Screen is 2K so it has a great definition. Proportion is 16:10, same than the MacBook. Resolution can be up to 2560 x 1600, which is huge. I used BetterDisplay to define a custom resolution that matches exactly the same than my MacBook. r/digitalnomad • Portable Monitors For 16" Macbooks ->I just got one of these and returned it because for the life of me I could not get a decent picture from it. At full resolution it looked great but the UI was way too tiny to be usable. I tried cutting the resolution in half to 1280x800 but it just looked super blurry. This was confusing to me because I thought Macs did integer 2x scaling? Using it with a 2019 iMac 21".
r/macbookpro • Portable monitor for mac ->I tried the LG gram + view first and retuned it because I could not get it to look right. I could not get the resolution to scale 2x. The full 2056x1600 made the UI way too small and no other scales sizes looked sharp or were distorted. I thought the 1280x800 was supposed to work but it didn’t (this was meant to be a supplement to a 2019 iMac but will eventually get connect to my mini I just ordered. Anyhow, I retuned that and got the viewsonic vx1655-4k (non-oled). It automatically scales the 4k to 1080p at 2x and looks amazing, better than my iMac retina or very comparable to it. She’s a keeper. But now I need to figure out a stand.
r/macmini • What portable monitor for mac mini m4(base model)? ->The LG Gram, I have it and it’s beautiful. Very light and great colours. https://www.lg.com/pl/laptopy/gram/16mq70/
r/digitalnomad • Any Nomads on here using portable monitors? ->Have one of these as well. Colours are great but don’t like the stand or that there is no power pass through. I saw a newer version - don’t think much has changed though.
r/digitalnomad • Any Nomads on here using portable monitors? ->I love my LG Gram+, I have thought about picking up a second. Obviously you need two usb-c ports capable of supporting the monitor and not all will. I run a Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2i which could theoretically support three of these screens (works on all of my usb-c ports). I'm not sure of many docks that will run two of these, that might take some digging. A Lenovo dock MIGHT do it with my setup, but it also might require a lenovo PC to work properly. Probably wouldn't be cheap but you want to carry $700 of screens around. There's some decent deals out there on this box since it's so old now, IMO worth it if you can find one with an a5000. If not, new gen would be adequate and do what you want, and you could skip the heavy/huge docks. I use a logitech mx mechanical for my keyboard, and as long as you get a mouse you can pair with the unified receiver you only use up one usb-a port. You made the ONLY choice for a portable laptop screen on the market though. I tried about 10 of them, this is the best.
r/digitalnomad • dual portable monitors? ->LG Gram + View's are amazing, I have 2 I use when not at home and then I use them in my home office under my Ultrawide.... Great quality, 2560x1600, HIDIPI slightly under which actually is useful as 16" screen at that res is a little small, 2048 or 1920 a decent visible size and crystal clear. Also 99%DCI-P3 and SRGB so good quality screens for color accuracy too.
r/macbookpro • Portable monitor for mac ->No worries, they're a solid screen, not the cheapest but are decent and v low profile not to mention USB-C, with a choice of which way to plug it in as there are ports on both sides of the screen....
r/macbookpro • Portable monitor for mac ->Agree that 2560x1600 is tiny, on a screen that size it's too small. Using BetterDisplay 2048x1280 works well or 1920x1200, both do-able with HIDPI enabled and more like the right sort of size. You can of course go even lower say 1600x1000 also but it's then going the other way and bigger than it needs to be. I'm using mine with a M1 MacBook Pro Max if that helps anyone with BetterDisplay.
r/macbookpro • Portable monitor for mac ->LG Gram View +, great portable 15/16” 2k screen, 98% RGB so colour good too. Have a couple I used when away from home but recently paired them with an ultrawide.
r/macbook • Portable monitor recommendation to use with 14" M3 MBP? ->They’re defo available still, though I’m in the UK, where are you? https://www.lg.com/uk/laptops/16mr70/ - Showing Out Of Stock Currently https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-Electronics-Portable-Monitor-16-inch/dp/B09XMSQS8B - In Stock on Amazon
r/macbook • Portable monitor recommendation to use with 14" M3 MBP? ->I have an [LG gram +view](https://www.lg.com/us/laptops/lg-16mq70.adsu1-portable-laptop-monitor) monitor that was an add-on for my LG laptop. I tried it with the Steam Deck, and it worked just fine. The problem, however, is that direct-connecting a monitor uses your one and only USB port on the Steam Deck. If you want to use it for any length of time, you'll have to make sure that the monitor can pass through power. I doubt a $90 monitor like the one you mentioned has pass-through capability (my LG one does not). You'll need something a bit more expensive, like the [ViewSonic VX1655](https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX1655-4K-OLED-Portable-Monitor-Speakers/dp/B0CFYWK9YR/) (or the even more expensive [ViewSonic VX1655-4K-OLED](https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX1655-4K-OLED-Portable-Monitor-Speakers/dp/B0CDJF17G5/ref=pd_lpo_d_sccl_3/132-3817996-1825154?pd_rd_w=GdN7O&content-id=amzn1.sym.4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_p=4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_r=R2WYR09J2QCHNN8ZXT40&pd_rd_wg=dqc5H&pd_rd_r=cb3e4091-5e7e-45fb-af42-4089266e6888&pd_rd_i=B0CDJF17G5&th=1) if you want a nice panel). (I don't own either of them, they were just the first thing that came up for portable monitors with pass-through power.) You're probably better off with a hub/dock and a regular monitor.
r/SteamDeck • Anyone use a portable monitor with their Steamdeck (like the InnoView Portable Monitor)? ->Yes. Today I plugged in my LG 16MQ70 and it was awesome. Only for a few minutes though. will do further testing tonight Update: Ran COD for an hour and no issues at all - but don't expect a super high res gaming experience - the screen is not really made for that.
r/ROGAllyX • Does the ROG Ally X work with a portable monitor using just a USB-C cable? ->love your enthusiasm! i felt the same way after trying portable monitors. the lg gram is the only real one!! im in SEA for 3-6months. literally contemplating not buying an ultrawide and just grabbing a 2nd lg gram. what do you think is more productive? i'm a front end dev, so its nice having the designs next to the web output, dev tools, but the code and docs displays a lot better on my vertical lg gram... so it's 50/50 which is better. i feel like the ultrawide is better ergonomics because with the lg gram my head is tilted to either side and i get a bit of neck pain. with the ultrawide my head stays in place in the center. how do you solve this? just move the macbook out and center the lg gram? would something like this work for dual usbc output (not sure if its dp over usbc) [https://philong.com.vn/sac-da-cong-macbook-hyperjuice-87w-dual-usb-cusb-a-qc3.0-hj-pd87-2c2a.html](https://philong.com.vn/sac-da-cong-macbook-hyperjuice-87w-dual-usb-cusb-a-qc3.0-hj-pd87-2c2a.html) or something like this [https://philong.com.vn/cong-chuyen-hyperdrive-viber-10-in-2-4k60hz-usb-c-hub-for-macbookipadprolaptopsmartphone-hd392-gr.html](https://philong.com.vn/cong-chuyen-hyperdrive-viber-10-in-2-4k60hz-usb-c-hub-for-macbookipadprolaptopsmartphone-hd392-gr.html)
