Truthfully because I’m obsessed with Kdramas AND I’m a writer/director. The LG TVs have the FAST channels that get the good dramas. But also I can wheel it into my office to work. Lastly, when my friends are over we can all gather to have a binge session that doesn’t have to be in my bedroom.
Just found out the LG StanbyME 2 is DETACHABLE… like it literally turns into a giant touchscreen tablet Kinda wild Living in New York, space is always limited, and with a family of different needs, having only one TV meant we often had to fight for who gets to watch. That's why maximizing space is essential in our home. The LG StanbyME 2 is a game-changer for us. When I work from home, I plan to use it as a second screen for video calls or simply as an extra monitor. After work, my wife will move it to the kitchen to follow cooking tutorials or play music while preparing dinner. My daughter will connect it to her tablet to study, and on weekends, my son will use it to play games. And for Christmas, I’m planning to detach the screen, set it near the tree, and play some carols it’ll totally add to the festive vibe at home. Super excited 🎄
Not the exact same setup but I got an LG StanbyME 2 and it's been really flexible. The rolling stand lets you position it pretty close to horizontal depending on how you're lying down and you can wheel it right next to the bed. Not a traditional wall or desk mount but that flexibility is kind of the whole point. Might be worth looking at if you want something you can adjust without a fixed installation.
For actual travel I’d stick with a small USB-C portable monitor since those fit in a bag. When I stay somewhere longer though I end up using an LG StanbyME because it’s easy to move around the room and works well as a second screen for a MacBook.
Wow! Amazing. I would use this wireless portable tv and put it infront of my bed. The way my tiny room is set up, I don’t have space to hook/mount an tv up infront of my bed. This would be amazing to drag infront of my bed! The reason for this is because I have heat pipes in front of my bed which is why I can’t mount an tv up. The way I watch tv is in a diagonal angle at the other corner of my room instead of straight forward! Thanks for this idea! I would purchase one even if I don’t win! Appreciate the idea <3
If u are open to something a bit smaller than 32", u might want to check out the LG StanbyME 2. It’s a 27" portable smart display with its own stand, runs on USB-C, and is a lot more power-friendly than a traditional TV. Kinda nice for RV setups since you can move it around or detach it when needed.
I work from home as a digital artist and often times I'm watching a YouTube video on the side while working on my projects. Since I'm doing a one monitor setup right now and my desk monitor arm clamping space is limited, the StanbyMe monitor would be a huge boon to my working setup as I can set it up right next to my main monitor and use it to view YouTube tutorials to further my art.
