I have this one too. Actually, I have two.
I used something like this https://a.co/d/e9GOsYD Mine is called “Kyy” and it was like $60-75 and they provide a few different cords (usbc, mini hdmi, etc) to connect to your laptop. I carry it with me in my laptop bag.
I fix GameCubes for a hobby and I (and let’s be honest, my wife) was getting sick of me needing to hook up to the living room TV everytime im testing something. I ended up ordering this little external monitor for about $50. It’s pretty sick. Now I can be working and testing all in one area, with no interruptions. I’m taking it for a test drive here. What do you guys think? I think it could even be cool for traveling. It doesn’t require a ton of power to operate. It’s about 16inch. Lightweight. 1080p.
This monitor actually has audio out. It’s not real good, it has that typical “canned” sound. High on treble, low on bass. But I will just be primarily using it for repairs, making sure the Picoboot takes, or Swiss is running properly so audio isn’t much of a problem. Side note, I did also test it with my switch 2 and it was awesome. With that I just pair my AirPods to the switch so it sounds really good lol
I do. It’s pretty awesome for times I want to get out. Not enough to be a permanent solution but enough to make it possible to move around easily. I’m hesitating to give the details lest i am tagged as a spammer. It was on Amazon. 15” or so foldable monitor by MNN. Has worked awesome.
I've used this one all over the world. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9NNWXVP?th=1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9NNWXVP I've hauled this one all over the world. Great value for $58 USD.
I like these because I can travel with it easily (and cheap). Not the best monitor, but fine for email / Slack / non gaming uses. https://a.co/d/ew8LGQ3
No idea but worth monitoring. There are a ton of different makes and models. Uncertain but guessing they’re all pretty similar? The one I bought (Arzopa) doesn’t seem special but totally gets the job done for travel. I also use it as a third monitor when I’m at my home office.
I got a 15.6” 1080p display for $68. Was about 15 months ago.
These little "portable monitors" make fantastic pit wall screens, without being entirely too big, distracting, or expensive. There are a few on Amazon right now on discount, and this one I personally own and is great. Has a VESA mount on the back as well for easy integration into the rig. [https://a.co/d/00bobW8R](https://a.co/d/00bobW8R) \- $49 (not an affiliate link, not self-promotion, just a straight link right to a monitor I own and have had a great experience with).
I've had a deck for 2 years which I use during travel mainly. I have the setup you're asking about for hotel stays but I usually use my portable monitor for my laptop and the hotel TV for the deck. Go with a dock. I have the stock one which comes with a second charger like the deck comes with. That way I have a travel charger and a home charger to swap the dock with. If you go with a USB C hub and wired components then you'd need power for the hub anyway so you basically have a dock at that point. BT vs Wireless is up to you on what you play. Wired is hands down more responsive, but not much enough for me to notice. My mouse and keyboard are from Keychron and I have BT issues with them sometimes. At home my BT G502 mouse has never had a problem. Nor has my wired keychron keyboard. This area depends on the HW you buy. G502 is a solid mouse but I cannot speak to using it with the deck or without the charging pad. I haven't had any issues with my Keychron keyboard and the deck. I use an 8bitdo Ultimate controller. Had some issues with the controller itself due to lag or multiple presses on keys. Haven't had that in a minute though so idk if something changed. I used an Xbox controller before and it worked fine. My portable monitor is a cheap one from MNN. I could use it with a mini HDMI to HDMI. The Deck Dock has DP as well. If I was you I'd find a nicer portable monitor than I did.
