Ohh that the msi pro mp161 e2 i used it for my portable setup for on the go
r/battlestations • I can use some advice for a dual stackable monitor arms what are the best ones ? ->How much power needed for the laptop? I am using MSI Pro161 E2, which can do what you want, however the USB-C PD power for laptop is only roughly 39W, it's enough for my Chromebook (45W max, while most of the time anything> 30W works fine)
r/UsbCHardware • Looking for a Portable Monitor that has one USB-C wire to the device, but also be able to provide charging to that device if receiving its own USB-C charge ->As I mentioned, I own this monitor, and it has been travelling with me quite a few times, one side plugging into power source with it works well.
r/UsbCHardware • Looking for a Portable Monitor that has one USB-C wire to the device, but also be able to provide charging to that device if receiving its own USB-C charge ->My monitor has mentioned PD output 15W in specifications, however quite a few people tested it can deliver 39W
r/UsbCHardware • Looking for a Portable Monitor that has one USB-C wire to the device, but also be able to provide charging to that device if receiving its own USB-C charge ->Basically those advertising with USB C will work without problem, I used a few of them, currently using MSI MP161E2 because it can rotate to portrait mode easily, plus dual USB C port (it supports USB PD passthrough for roughly 39W so I can plug power to monitor then to Pixel phone/iPad/Chromebook/MBA without issue)
r/UsbCHardware • [REQUEST] Portable Monitor - Slim/Light, Single-Cable USB-C Power/Video from Laptop ->I have MSI PRO161 E2, a 15.6" with rotation stand (so sometimes I can use it in portrait way), also it has USB PD passthrough, just a single USB PD power cable I can get both monitor + MacBook Air or Chromebook use (passthrough power roughly 39W max)
r/MiniPCs • Mini PC Traveling Monitor? ->I use MSI Pro MP161 E2 with my Chromebook. This monitor has 2 USB-C, can do USB-C PD passthrough (roughly 39W max, enough for Chromebook), so you don't need to have too many cables. And what I like this is the stand allows portrait/landscape mode operation.
r/chromeos • Best portable monitor for Chromebook ->I’ve got this one. Runs off a single cable and as a lightweight portable display I can’t fault it. [MSI Pro MP161](https://amzn.eu/d/fLbbGrW)
r/mac • Portable screen to make my Mac mini portable ->Thanks for posting that link! Kickstands suck but I always thought of them (or a flip cover) a necessary evil. I never thought of mounting these to a micro tripod. That's a game changer!
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] MSI 15.6” FHD IPS 60Hz Portable Monitor - $64.99 incl shipping (Costco, no membership requirement, 2 yr warranty) ->You can find similarly spec'd units on Amazon for as low as $43.34, but there's a difference between price and value. At that price you are buying a "Dopesplay" branded monitor with a 1 year "Satisfaction Guarantee". The MSI brand and 2 year manufacturer warranty coupled with Costco satisfaction guarantee add value, making this a better overall value than most no-name brands on Amazon. That said, there is always an exception. In this case that's the $50 AOC 16T20, which has a 3-year warranty and is sold directly by Amazon. [https://www.amazon.com/AOC-16T20-Portable-1920x1080-Compatible/dp/B0F3MMK1J4?](https://www.amazon.com/AOC-16T20-Portable-1920x1080-Compatible/dp/B0F3MMK1J4) At a quick glance, that's likely a better deal and one that's worth posting. Thanks for prompting me to dig a little deeper!
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] MSI 15.6” FHD IPS 60Hz Portable Monitor - $64.99 incl shipping (Costco, no membership requirement, 2 yr warranty) ->Agreed on the panel and the stands/case. At this price level they are generally commodity products of similar quality. I was about going to cancel my Costco / MSI order and buy the AOC until I watched the video linked by u/Golden_009 and learned about the tripod mount option on the MSI. I can't unsee that and it's one of those conveniences that's now a requirement. Hopefully the biz trip is somewhere fun.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] MSI 15.6” FHD IPS 60Hz Portable Monitor - $64.99 incl shipping (Costco, no membership requirement, 2 yr warranty) ->Depending on how you value the Costco backstop, the AOC monitor below (also posted separately) is a better deal than the MSI. I can't find much 3rd party info on the AOC monitor so may just stick with MSI. If I hadn't already ordered those, I would likely go with the AOC.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] MSI 15.6” FHD IPS 60Hz Portable Monitor - $64.99 incl shipping (Costco, no membership requirement, 2 yr warranty) ->This actually fits my niche use for a semi-portable Switch setup (already found something that emulates the Switch dock to allow USB C to DP)
