I purchased and returned the Newsoul 3k one recently. It had terrible flickering - and no amount of troubleshooting (cables, device swap, setting changes, etc ) fixed it. It was probably just a defective unit, since no other review mentioned similar issues, and to Newsoul's credit they were very on top of trying to help me fix the issue/offered an exchange without me needing to ask. I decided to just stick with using an iPad for a secondary monitor, so I returned it. I liked the panel quite a bit though, and notably it had pass through charging to the Ally which was really nice. Had it worked without issue, I might've kept it.
r/ROGAlly • Have you bought a Portable OLED monitor? 4k, 3k, 1080p? ->I stuck with the NewSoul but *alllllmost* switched to the Xbonfire when it got dropped to the same price of 239 (with coupon) Unfortunately, everywhere I posted this people were just dismissing these as the same panel, despite the advertised spec differences and the fact that 3 new ones randomly came on the market a year later, but if I could have afforded it at the time I would've gotten one of each (NewSoul and the Xbonfire) to do a side-by-side comparison. I'm convinced they're different panels. If you can afford to tie up money for a couple weeks you should get one of each and return the worse of the two! 😝 I'm so curious and there's really no info online. The 3 new ones barely even have any reviews. EDIT: I should add, I absolutely love the NewSoul. It's my first OLED outside of my iPhone screen and it's really stunning. I also like the fact that it's one consistent body shape (a bit thicker all the way up) so I can lay it down flat or throw it in a bag without worrying about it)
r/OLED_Gaming • 16" 3K AMOLED 120hz portable monitors appearing on Amazon - better response times and contrast ratios, but only 450 nits vs 500 on the UPERFECT and Newsoul OLEDs? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
