You can have cheap, or you can have good You don't get both The best portable monitor to power from a phone are the sotsu monitors https://www.reddit.com/r/SamsungDex/comments/1irtede/sotsu_flipaction_14_go_and_touch_reviews/ We reviewed then several months back They sip power and are very nice They're not going to be 100 bucks tho

Big fan of the sotsu flipaction 14 https://www.reddit.com/r/SamsungDex/comments/1irtede/sotsu_flipaction_14_go_and_touch_reviews/ Long story short, pacls perfectly flat, uses 3w power over single usb-c. Supports mpp surface pen, and can sit above the screen, or to the side Absolutely made for surface

Single easiest setup is a lapdock Uperfect or nexdock, we've reviewed a ton here For travel keyboards and mice, protoarc has also been well received here For a dedicated monitor, I really like the SOTSU monitors, as they have proper stands as well as use almost no power from a dex device

yup, there are many that work just fine. I've always got one with me, whether it's a SOTSU, or Nexdock, or Uperfect

We've reviewed a ton of everything dex related here For folding keyboards, we really like the protoarc ones Im also a huge fan of their hub mouse (comes with a hidden Usb-c hub) For portable monitors, I really like the Sotsu monitors, but ive also got a ton of uperfect panels of every size and resolution

I only have the FlipAction Go 14", but it's excellent. Build quality is top-notch, the stand is brilliant, and the LCD has minimal light bleed (something few modern manufacturers get right, sadly).  The actual panel is nothing remarkable, but I got a first generation product and it gets the job done. My only complaint is that there's a slight color fringe, like a nonstandard subpixel layout. Their newer panels are reportedly better, but I haven't verified that myself.

It's at the bottom of this list, but I can recommend the Sotsu. Great build quality and even includes a sleeve. Nothing else comes close to the versatility of the stand. The actual screen isn't exceptional, but there's nothing to complain about, and the rest of the package more than makes up for it.

It's the Sotsu! That's the only portable monitor that's worth money.

Have you ever looked at a Sotsu portable monitor? That is my bread and butter when traveling. https://preview.redd.it/c2jktd6pxglg1.jpeg?width=6042&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c2972336a5d1c2863b8eefd2e693705db877dd5

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a portable monitor. I work as a software developer and often move between different offices and my home, so portability is important. I really like the SOTSU monitor because it can be set up vertically and positioned right behind my MacBook Pro’s screen, aligning perfectly above it. However, it’s quite expensive. Do you know of any alternatives that offer similar features—especially the vertical setup and the ability to stack neatly with a MacBook Pro—without breaking the bank? Also, I would like a similar quality as the integrated monitor. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I do, but I was looking for something a little bit bigger that can be used at eye level. Sotsu monitor seems like the perfect match. But it’s as expensive as an iPad. I cannot find a stand that would do the same as sotsu but for the iPad

A couple of years ago I bought a Sotsu monitor it was $450 at the time and seemed crazy expensive but I love it. I use a roost knock off stand to elevate my laptop so they are at the same height. I bring a mouse and a keyboard. Is it heavy? Yea, but a small price to pay to be able to work from almost anywhere. I may even get a second one for extended stays. I agree with the person who said crappy chairs are a bigger problem.
